  • With the world moving over to EV, one question has been around the range and charging on a road trip. So what better test than to take the Tesla Model 3 across Europe!?
    A big thank you to ‪@tesla‬ for the loan!

    Remember that the speed and driving style on any EV is the main factor of the range.
    Based on real-world tests and user data for the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range (LR), the estimated ranges at different speeds are as follows (source data from ArenaEV & EV Central):
    60 km/h (37 mph): ~ 680 km (423 miles)
    80 km/h (50 mph): ~ 570 km (354 miles)
    100 km/h (62 mph): ~ 465 km (289 miles)
    120 km/h (75 mph): ~ 415 km (258 miles)
    140 km/h (87 mph): ~ 330 km (205 miles)
    Range variation can be around ±10-15%, depending on:
    - Temperature: cold temperatures in winter
    - Driving style: relaxed driving uses less battery
    - Load: heavy load increases energy consumption
    - Terrain: Increased energy required for steep hills and mountains

    It’s genuinely easy. After going electric it took about 3 months and a couple of roads trips for range anxiety to completely vanish! It’s really not a thing / issue like people not in the know or media might have you believe

    • @DrivingBex
      @DrivingBex  Год назад

      It’s just adapting to the change of charging, but we didn’t find an issue!

    Good video Bex. I have been driving Tesla's since 2017 in the UK including European trips. We all love petrol performance cars especially for the track but the reality is Good electric cars are the future for our daily driver.
    Interesting facts : The average petrol or diesel car in uk scrap yards has an average of 130k miles on the clock. A Tesla is expected to last for 300k + miles. No servicing costs other than tyres. 11 times less likely to catch on fire, despite what the media tries to make you believe.
    Euro NCAP also have proven they have the best safety score of any car tested

      @@24k__J lots of people choose to drive to the continent for a holiday rather than fly. It's often cheaper than flying, there are no luggage weight limits to worry about, you don't have pack all your shampoo into a sandwich bag and most importantly you don't have bother with hiring a car at the destination.

    Well done Bex! An informative video that clearly outlines that even though even with a Tesla super charger network those charging times were fine giving you a well deserved break when you needed it. OK a petrol car may have refuelled in 5 minutes but after all that time on the road we need a break as well as the car. Great job and thanks for sharing.

    I did a 2500 mile road trip in my model 3 performance last summer, through France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Belgian. Best road trip I've ever had. Cool video, reminded me of my trip :) Only problem I had was I nipped to the toilet on the euro tunnel, and the wobbling set the alarm off, which the people sharing the carriage thought was funny, as it blared the music!

    Do you have to put stickers on the lights still? Or does the Tesla know it's in Europe and changes it's settings?

    • @DrivingBex
      @DrivingBex  Год назад +1

      We actually went into the settings and changed the light height ourselves but stickers would of been an easier option (we just forgot until being repeated flashed!)

      I believe so! Was just dependent on the peak times as per the UK. When we went across in our MG EV; it cost £80 including a detour to Disney Paris using 90% Tesla chargers😊

    Only with a tesla , try it with a MG 4 🤣

    • @DrivingBex
      @DrivingBex  10 месяцев назад +1

      We actually did as my partner owns an MG4. We still used the Tesla Superchargers (which were open to non Teslas) as they were cheaper. We also stopped as DisneyLand Paris which has free EV charging. The range of the SE (standard range) was enough to last us 4 hours of driving, where we were ready for a stop and nap anyway. It cost us a total of £80 to get there any back, including travelling around whilst we were there, and the detour to Disney.
