Just got an almost new demo Jazz RS (sport) hybrid, here in New Zealand. Genuinely impressive handling and great economy with about 800km to a tank. That’s driving it quite hard at times on the windy back roads as well as around town. It handles a lot better than my Mums older Yaris which is awful. Overall, can’t complain, it’s a good compromise of practicality, efficiency and handling. I just wish it had a manual ‘box though.

It is a car that is built from the inside to the outside, meaning that the designers have given an insanely huge amount of effort to design this car so that it perfectly functions better and be more ergonomic than any other car of its league, and even from bigger cars. The amount of attention Honda has given to details in this car outmatch any car brand out there, including toyota and all the other japanese brands. This car is perfect, although the price might be high, it is definitely worth it. My family has owned many generations of Honda jazz/fit and compared to the other cars we have, including mercedes, toyota, suzuki, volvo and lexus, the jazz has been by far the most perfectly designed car. Our oldest jazz is now turning 20 years old. (2005). This car has NEVER, and i repeat EVER broken down, not once. Only regular maintenance, changing filters, and generally taking care of the car. This car has never once let us down and is far more reliable even from our two toyotas AND lexus. We will keep buying honda fits. and if you are wondering whether you should buy one, I say go for it, you will remember me. (warning: this is not financial advise)

I'm still keeping my petrol car, mainly because I drive to rural areas to camp (wifes car, with a fair bit of kit ) and hike . There are no chargers and I do have to get back. I thought I had found a charger but on checking zap map it was down and had been for a number of days? Charging is only cheaper at home, I just watched a Carwow test on the latest evs and their diesel camera car worked out cheaper because they had to charge at public chargers. Watch it before declaring me wrong. How's your insurance? I have a 2023 Mazda MX5 2ltr Homura in my garage with the performance pack and it costs me £320 for me and my wife. I rang Tesla and asked them where their nearest supercharger was and it was 40 miles from where we go? All the other chargers I did find were low powered things that would take over ten hours to charge a Tesla or Polestar etc, Obviously I'm not hanging about for that long. It would appear that evs currently only fit a certain criteria. As Akido Toyoda pointed out years ago they won't suit everybody and they are not some magic bullet that will sort things out. When Labour start taxing them from next April, I have heard that any ev over £40k (and that's most of them ) will have to pay the "luxury car tax " also. Personal opinion but I wouldn't trust this government not to. I'm biding my time and remain unconvinced.

It's a great deal for the money, even if it really has imitation leather seats instead of the real thing, which is understandable at this price point. However, with such a large body, the larger more powerful engine @ approx 190 HP is more suitable.

It's a financial no brainer if you can make it work and EVs are great to drive in terms of ease and comfort. I've had my Kia Soul Ev for over 4 years now with no regrets and I've had my share of interesting ICE cars too. Good luck on your EV ownership journey.

I bought a mk 3 ultra a month ago and got it tuned to 248bhp 468nm and its very sporty for less than 13 grand!! What a car for the money!! Performance is awesome and still getting 50/60 mpg... whats not to love. Well done btw your informative enthusiastic review nailed it!!!

I still ride my motorcycle for long trips, but all my short trips have been done with my 2011 Nissan Leaf (still on original battery) since I don't care about range (it still gets over 60 miles which is plenty for what I use it for). If you take care of the battery it will last.

I’m a self confessed petrol head and switched to an EV6 gt-line S this year and it is great. I can charge at home (PodPoint) and haven’t yet needed a public charger. It’s fast (quicker than my previous car - Macan S), fun, loads of tech, is cheap to charge and works for me and my driving scenario’s these days. It won’t be for everyone, but at a real-world 270-280 miles (300m advertised) range, it works.
