Chainsaw Man is pretty infamous as a show with an incredibly Anti-Traditional Battle Shounen message hidden at its core. The horniness, the focus on little dreams, the way Denji acts, the selfishness all gets put into perspective, all of it starts to click once you associate it with the concept of The Hedonic Treadmill.
Constantly chasing your dreams only to realize they could never live up to the grand fantasy you had about them in your head. It basically takes the grand aspirations of folks like Aki killing the great evil and getting revenge or big dreams of being a Hokage or a Pirate King and says... once you get there. Than what?
Its not super deep, but it is more human and relatable than most shounen.
