I love the casting of Lalo because he is perfectly bilingual, like Suraj pointed out. Both his english and spanish accents are perfect.
I remember as a native Spanish speaker noticing that the moment he appeared on the show… but then I looked closer and I realized I had seen him in telenovelas and variety shows before, with Facundo and stuff gotta love tony dalton
*Jimmy being 100% sincere*
*The Normies:* You're wrong, bro.
Welcome, are you new here? 😂
Elliott Lars Olsen lol
Mickey “he wasn’t being sincere”
Jimmy “I was sincere”
imagine looking like thT and still being a hating ass
I get so frustrated that so many people always blame Jimmy for Kim's "Breaking Bad" moments. If she was 15 then you might be able to use Jimmy as an excuse but shes an adult. She's doing what she wants to do because she likes the way it makes her feel. She's very smart and she knows who Jimmy is. There's no one to blame but herself.
The more I watch the show, the more convinced I am that she's not changing, she's just showing Jimmy more of who she *really* is.
She's definitely her own person who can make her own decisions, but I do feel like the show is making a Walter White parallel, in that whoever Jimmy becomes close with ends up worse off (Chuck, Howard, the partners at Davis and Main, and now Kim).
You're set up to think Jimmy will bring Kim down, but then you realize Kim will use Jimmy to bring herself down (or so it seems, don't know what will ultimately happen to her)
In a way Kim is the Walt of Better call Saul. This behavior has always been inside of her all Jimmy does is bring it out of her she just needed the perfect storm for it to flourish.
good point. its a little bit sexist, isnt it
Oh yes Lalo is charismatic andd friendly but dont get it twisted. He is a Salamanca...but of a diff breed. My fav Salamanca
I like how each Salamanca is crazy in their own way
He’s like the Salamanca with the more personality, and screen time, than the other members of his family.
Lalo is the combination of his cousins in one person
the normies once again never failing to assume the absolute worst about everyone.. jimmy is literally telling Kim he was being sincere and you guys are shouting at the TV telling him he's wrong. I guess you guys know what's going on in his head better than he does, thats impressive
REALLY!
Fr 😭
@08:01 - I'm not sure that works when the people she's afraid of are actual gangsters and killers haha
The systemic racism point is pretty heavily undermined by the fact that Nacho and Lalo are literally members of the Cartel.
and by the fact that there's nothing "systemic" about one old lady being prejudiced
it's crazy to me how these terms suddenly end up in so many people's vocabulary at once
Systemic racism does exist but he definitely used it in the wrong context in that situation he should’ve just used prejudice instead.
@@isaiahcox9787 are there other systemic things? thats what im wondering about now
OnTreader I’m a bit confused about what you’re asking
@@OnTreader Literally anything that's part of a system...?
I just want to point out the ingeniousness of the opening scene. It wasn’t enough to pull a scam where he “accidentally” spills the drink. Nope, they went cold blooded by introducing a non-existent baby and the extreme danger of said baby. This way, the clerk is totally distracted by an IDEA and not just witness to an act (soda spill or whatever).
That weird feeling when Normies call someone stupid
Hehehehe!
Werner ziiiiiiegleeeer
But that homey´s deaaaad.....He just doesn´t know it yeeeet
In this episode I learned that Gus doesn't stand even the slightest mistake
"Systemic racism" when he is literally a part of the cartel LOL
Lalo is probably my favorite character in the entire breaking bad universe
Coldwire lol I found him corny and hokey. It’s all perspective I guess :)
Lalo is my favorite Salamanca
That old lady moving her purse away from someone who is clearly a bodyguard of some sort to a criminal is in no way a form of systemic racism. I'm Mexican and I would have clocked them as shady instantly.
lmao yeah, cause every american in a retirment home knows the faces of the mafia bosses
What makes Lalo or Nacho shady looking?
@@Max25670 Lalo, no. But Nacho literally looks like a gang member.
No sos mexicano sos un whitexican....esta serie no es para vos ;) :p
@@malkath6128 y tu como puedes juzgar quien es mexicano o no y todavía denominar a alguien “whitexican” si utilizas español con voseo? 💀
Saul Goodman mentioned both Ignacio "Nacho" Varga and Lalo Salamanca in BB thinking it's one of them who order a got on him when Walter and Jesse kidnapped him
8:00 you talk like Nacho and the others are not hardened criminals lol. The old lady's intuition was right.
Exactly. Dude is standing there in his leather jacket like a body guard. He's totally shady.
Except they are drug dealers not robbers and they weren't there to rob her too. Absolutely racism from the bitch
Stream Hollywood on Netflix “Hmm, these guys are obviously shady, should I take any precautions just in case? Oh wait, nothing to worry about, they’re only drug dealers.”... ????
@@fembrucewayne1904 just because tv shows are glorifying drug dealers that does not mean they are all that nice in real life like Nacho.
@@fembrucewayne1904 "They're drug dealers not robbers" - in contention for the single dumbest comment I've ever seen on this godforsaken website. Congratulations.
"Jimmy, you are ALWAYS...down!"
Ka-BOOM
Kim has all the truth bombs.
i think 8:14 was a bad example for racism cause you know he is a high level cartel man🤣🤣 and him standing guard doesnt seem suspicious a all not visiting anyone and just waching
True maybe not blatant racism but def straight blatant racial bias
@@ChopJr_ lol, i can imagine, over here we always know who is from the gangs and stay away from them, i guess here in latin america we are the most racis to one another lmao
@@miro5031 in america they see racists everywhere. if you critique a non-white person about something that has nothing to do with race you're sure to have at least a few people call you racist either way.
Normies, you may have figured this out, but in case you haven't: as you guys know, the writers never put in 99% of the things in this show without a purpose. The reason they showed the scene where Werner thinks he's gonna die while reconnecting the wire is because that's the event that causes him to miss his wife so bad that he runs away
As usual you dropped the ball. You act like Werner deserves to die b/c Gus is so cool. But Jimmy is such a bad guy. You all need to experience life.
I don't think they think he "deserves" to die, but it's just an inevitability since Gus takes no shit and Werner literally went AWOL
Renee watches people watch tv, thinks their watching it wrong💀, & that they need to get a life🤣
Bruh most of the Breaking bad and Bcs fanbase gives horrible people like Gus a pass because they're cool😂, that ain't nothing new
Dang, I didn't notice ya'll were sitting further apart and edited together until that dog started vanishing.
The funny thing about that is there is no point in them sitting apart if the dog is going to be walking around the room and spreading germs from one person to another. I saw Suraj pet the dog and then watch it immediately go over to the other side of the room and rub up against someone else. They might as well just sit directly next to each other.
Man next few episodes are gonna be goood
I say that after like every episode of this show they do lol
7:52
I mean... They ARE the Cartel tho. Hahaha
According to these guys Kim has absolutely no agency
One might wonder if Ziegler reeeally understood Mike when he gave him the come-to-jesus. I sort of enjoy the hypothetical: Go to prison for a year, but when you get out, you have enough money to live comfortably with your family for the rest of your life. Even easier, if you run, you will die. I get the conditions are miserable, and insanity makes people do irrational things, but it's definitely frustrating watching such a smart character be so dumb. BCS did such an outstanding job making me sympathize for the workers though. Next level story-telling for sure.
It's a cultural thing. Germans have 1 month paid vacation a year, the guy just wanted his :D
On a more serious note, the issues with the explosives pushed the guy over the edge. Prison for a year for an epic payout sounds less and less appealing as age does its thing. The guy just got reminded of that big time.
Kim is an adult she can make her own decisions don't blame jimmy
Lalo completely and utterly hijacks the show, and I mean that in the best way possible
The laundry was on a busy street in town when Walt and Hank drove by and Walt crashed the car, so they can’t be too far in the middle of nowhere. That doesn’t make sense. It would take another 5 years to see the whole town build up around the laundry place.
7:57 I like you guys but this reaction was not the brightest
It never is.
Man this group consistently misses the mark when it comes to Jimmy's story. I feel like its way too morally complex that it just goes way over their heads. One of them even said something about how this show isn't really that much about Saul lol, wtf are you talking about. And then they all have no idea that Jimmy not mentioning Chuck is the only reason he got denied for reinstatement. They think its just a simple story where Jimmy becomes worse and worse but its way more complicated. They seem to blame Jimmy for everything going on with Kim when she clearly is to blame as well. The fact that when Jimmy is asked the question "Did you have any particular influence?" and none of them realized he should've mentioned Chuck, really shows their lack of understanding Jimmy's story. And then they just assume Jimmy and Kim broke up after one argument? Clearly in the end Kim is willing to help him out so its pretty obvious their relationship isn't over. It's nice to see their liking Lalo already though cause he only gets better from here.
@Ive got hairy legs It's actually just a paragraph but my apologies for writing so much that u felt it was necessary to write a comment about how long my comment was. and no im not upset, just stating my opinion
They aren't even willing to talk less, watch it through and not realizing that most of their questions are being answered while commenting. All due respect but in order to understand you should listen closely and they have the freedom to comment about it afterwards..
@@Pocahontas2701 They never actually listen or pay attention to the dialogue. It's truly amazing how much they miss because they are constantly talking.
This show is so complex that it takes a second viewing just to catch everything I doubt you came to that assessment the first time you watched it.
@@PoloBoyPrince You can easily come to that conclusion, cause they say it in the episode. Stop making excuses
Give me $5 million and I'll keep my head down for 18 months, do what I need to do, and tow the line.
If I could have any food from a fictional universe, it would be *Los Pollos Hermanos chicken* and a Krabby Patty.
I'm sorry to any Deutschlander's for the intro lol.
This show has grown so far beyond it's "main" character way more than Breaking Bad ever did. And I think it's way better off for it.
I wouldn't say Jimmy wasn't answering the question. "What does the law mean to you?" is a very open ended question and can mean different things to different people. The question of sincerity was because he didn't acknowledge Chuck. Chuck definitely affected Jimmy's decision to become a lawyer. Other than that I think his answer was honest. He definitely laid it on a little thick but what he said was true. All his insecurities coming out at Kim was a stupid move.
And once again you removed Kim's agency to blame Jimmy for her decisions. She could walk away from Jimmy any time she wants, Hell he gave her a great excuse to do so this episode. But she doesn't want to let him go because there is something about Jimmy's bad behavior that Kim likes. Just like Walt Kim's breaking bad is ultimately her decision and responsibility.
8:00 Nahid - "Systemic racism bro". Well. There's two ways to view this scene. The old woman had no idea who Nacho is but the way he looked and was acting made her judge he wasn't a good guy and moved her handbag away, which you can say is a racial bias but personally I move my bag away from people when I'm on public transport all the time no matter what I'm grasping it in some way. However Nacho is actually involved in the cartel and you can by many definitions think of him as a bad guy, so really she wasn't wrong in her judgement to move her possessions out of reach. The commentary I think the show portrays greatly is that yes, there is a society especially amongst the older generation still of assumption or racial bias in many regards still to this day; but you cannot call racism in all scenarios that you are judged if you are not doing your best to live an honest life and are actively engaging in wrongful behaviour in society. Everyones guilty of this and I think it's easy to throw a racial card out there but maybe she just doesn't trust a random young man who looks like he is 'stood guard' not to steal her stuff, since she'd have no control over getting it back from him. She didn't know who Nacho truly was, but she judged him correctly on the surface. Very nuanced topic in my opinion. I understand both sides and I'm sure many minority people feel mistreat often. I think it's good to have a proper discussion though and not just assume it's racial. I wouldn't usually get so serious in youtube comments but Nahid was taking it very seriously so thought it appropriate. Big fan of you guys for a long time!
Thank you for your extremely White perspective
@@ChopJr_ If by 'white perspective' you mean I've thought it through, looked at both sides, and not condemned someone through a single action that has many reasons to be innocent via thought policing then yes, I suppose it was a 'white' perspective.
@@allbies I have to admit, you’ve been the most thoughtful & willing to talk it out not just immediately jump the gun, I got a lil angry reading the rest of the comments & I may have jumped the gun on u, my bad bro, & I appreciate your honesty
@@ChopJr_ I get it, youtube and social medias in general are pretty terrible places to discuss important topics tbh and most of it is blind loyalty echo chambers to one stance on either side, or things get lost in translation and we let it get the best of us sometimes. I appreciate and accept your apology mate.
How is it systemic anyway? It's an old woman in an old age home. Has nothing to do with the system.
Don't know if you guys remember but Nacho and Lalo were mentioned when Saul first appeared in Breaking Bad
where's my girl Rana?
"Wiedersehen" is german and means "meet again" or "see again". I love your try to pronounce it :D
"I think that's the name of the beer"
you guys calling an old lady racist because she moved her purse is exactly what's wrong with today's society.
You must be a RUclips commenter.
Asi es señor. It's certainly a part of what's wrong.
@@elbruces and you are...what exactly?
The irony of The mexican racist they are talking about is, Nacho and Lalo are literally members of the Cartel. Like look at them Nacho doesnt look like he visiting his grandma, he is bodyguarding the Boss, eyeing people around.
6:42 yo props to Suraj for picking that up. Way better than Gus and Hector's broken ass Spanish lol
@Ive got hairy legs I think it has to do a lot with rhythm too. They put an inflection on words and pace their sentences how you normally do it if it were english.
Kim just likes it.
Lalo is my favourite character in the entire BB/BCS universe.
Lalo was mentioned by Saul in his first episode in Breaking Bad when Walt and Jesse kidnap him and drag him out to the desert. His first thought was Lalo kidnapped him and he tried to talk his way out by blaming "Ignacio" aka Nacho.
Yeah, and they missed that.... How I do not know.
@@reneemclane1845 It was a throwaway line, said during a moment where the viewers wasn't paying attention to what the characters are saying. Why do people expect the Normies to have supercomputer like memories lmao.
@@MM-vs2et It's super memorable? It's something a lot of people went into BCS expecting to be explained?
@@newlandpencilnut4754 Ohh really? Back in 2015 when the show came out, fans were just dying to hear who "Lalo" and "Nacho", you know, 2 names that was mentioned ONCE, in season 2 of 5 seasons, and then never heard from again? I see that the hardcore BB fans have this, but the majority of people, the casual fans, not really. Especially not these guys who watch 9 different shows periodically every week, and have lives of their own.
@@MM-vs2et What's with that end statement? BrBa isn't my life, I just remember stuff from shows I enjoy. Yes fans in fact were super excited to hear about Ignacio, who we meet in season 1, and Lalo? You didn't even need to be a hardcore fan lol. You're a weirdo.
It's not the noise they were trying to hide. They were trying to hide the shockwave of the explosion blowing that metal plate off the road.
Mickey 7:26 Best improv 2020
Btw Werner is pronounced like "Verner", W in german sounds like V, same thing for wiedersehen
I know because of Timo Werner
Americans don't care. They're too arrogant to even want to get the pronunciation right.
They mention Lalo in the same scene they mention nacho in the desert in breaking bad
That argument between Jimmy and Kim on the roof is GREAT acting.
Love Saul and Kim.. nobody ruined anything.. they did amazing..
6:41 Born in Laredo, dual Mexican-American citizen. So yeah, he speaks Spanish.
The fact that these dummies didn't even feel wrong after the show literally told us Jimmy didn't pass the bar because he didn't talk about Chuck and not because he answered wrong about law, made me realise idiots are exist.
Nahid sitting there behind a desk with his laptop, a couple rolls of paper towels and some lotion. hmmm
Damn I just noticed the demolition was outside of the Travelwire (I know they're many episodes ahead).
Nice South Park reference, Suraj.
Ok, my question is how did Werner not get seen to begin with to be standing out there to use the laser on the outside camera in the first place? Lol
The security are mindlessly watching 10 screens at once for hours and hours on end. They won't notice little details like Werner pointing something at the camera
It's pronounced veederzayn, as in Auf Wiedersehn; German for Goodbye.
Wheres rana?
Called a cab? :D :D :D To where? He doesnt know where he is.
Complains about the Spanish and pronounces the title weedersomething
auf wiedersehen. goodbye.
I think it's more like "until I see you again", at least that's what Hans Landa says in Inglourious Basterds
Saying this show isn’t about Saul/Jimmy is one of the wildest and craziest statements I’ve heard on RUclips. Goes to show how shallow your reactions are.
7:32 was that a South Park reference? LOL
Chuck is still hurting Jimmy from beyond the grave!
Did breaking bad tell the origin of heisenberg's face raw drawing (like one on Mickey's t-shirt)??? Now i kinda have a hunch that Lalo who drew it 😐
