Ya Kim is getting way more scenes to shine in the spotlight compared to what she got in the past, but the subtleties that Bob odenkirk has shown in his already amazing acting this season has made him even more incredible. If either of them or both don’t win the Emmy this year it will be a crime.

    Jimmy does such a GREAT job of retelling the story without making it sound as if it's been coached. Adding details, then omitting them, and rephrasing things with ease. That's something that only comes from the actual experience, and it's pretty amazing how easily Jimmy pulls it off.

    • @papl20
      @papl20 3 года назад +65

    • @17thknight
      @17thknight 3 года назад +35

      Yeah, bad liars make the mistake of making it a story. It's a story they repeat, so there's lots of details they never forget, and sound rehearsed. But then you begin to actually probe and they don't add anything new, it's the same script. And things only change when you point out mistakes they're making. When a person tells a story, over and over, it's always slightly different and they can always expand on it because there's lots to expand on. If you want to tell a good lie, play through it in your mind like an actual event that actually occurs with actual details, and then tell the story of what happened in your mind, like telling a dream.

    Feel like Jimmy is not getting enough credit. When he’s upset with Kim it’s mostly about her safety as opposed to some ego thing like it was for Walt. Messa Verde is the safety net in his eyes, they keep the lights on, but Kim is already on bad decision road. He’s not Saul right now and he may never be. Saul is a facade to cover the pain brewing underneath. He’s a nuanced character and even though we don’t have to like him when he says he cares about Kim I tend to believe him despite him going about in a terrible way.

Jesse prevented Badger from getting shanked in prison when Saul suggested it, Walt refused to kill Hank when Saul suggested it, and he also refused to kill Jesse. The last one is arguably the most despicable thing Saul has done, because he looked out for Jesse over the course of the series, and yet he is immediately willing to have Jesse killed just because he thinks that Walt wouldn't mind killing him.
      It's made worse by the fact that Saul knew Jesse was trying to avenge Brock's poisoning, and he was still on Walt's side.

      So Jimmy feeding Kim to the cartel (indirectly, but actions have consequences) is Jimmy caring for her? Just like Walt, they both got their loved ones involved in their shady business and Jimmy will lose Kim, probably in a worse way than Walt lost his family. Mike said it square and simple: you can be an outlaw, but never involve your family in it, otherwise it's a shitshow. You want to be a scumbag lawyer, you don't tell your wife that you have to pick up 7 million dollars from the cartel in the middle of the desert. You keep things separated.
      But Chuck was right, Jimmy thinks that doing bad things and then admitting to it takes all the guilt away. It may lift a weight out of your consience, but throws it right into someone else's face. Now Kim is is a huge leverage Lalo has on Jimmy and he's the only one to blame.

    I just caught something after watching this a second time. Mike's advice to Jimmy when he says you'll wake up eat breakfast and realize you haven't thought about it comes directly from the episode when his daughter-in-law realized she didn't think about Matty when she was making breakfast. The writing in this show is just absolutely brilliant

    "and potentially nothing bad could happen to any of them."
    When a show manages to do that without making it feel like they created a fake threat, or suddenly reversed direction, that's when you get the really high tension.
    When you can tell for certain that the story is setting up the character do die, it's just tragic but you know what is coming. When you're not sure and it could plausibly go either way without feeling inconsistent, that's when things are really scary.

    Everyone commenting on how they were so worried for Kim when she was telling off Lalo. I got a different vibe there. I actually think, even though Lalo may not have liked being talked to QUITE that way, that he realized she was making some good points. I think he came to appreciate and respect her after that. He may have thought she was a bit out of line in the WAY she said it, and may be a little angry with her for that part, but I think he sees she knows what she's talking about and may rethink the way he handles some things.

    I commented this on the last video and I’ll comment it again. The actor who plays Lalo is absolutely incredible. So incredibly terrifying because he has like two polar opposite sides to him. There’s the overly happy side and the menacing side, and somehow both sides end up being equally terrifying. I doubt he will get an emmy nomination cuz he isn’t as known as some of the other actors in the show, but he definitely deserves one. Also Rhea Seehorn deserves an emmy as well (obviously).

    With Mike looking through the scope and listening to the convo through his cell phone, it's important that, at one point, he aims at Jimmy. I don't think Mike is there to necessarily take Lalo out; rather, it's to make sure Jimmy's story doesn't change because, if it does, then Gus' plan is at risk. If they mess up the story, I have a feeling that Mike would then take somebody out...probably all of them (can't just take out Lalo because now you know that Jimmy could crack under future pressure).

    Kim just signed Nacho's death certificate.
    She said to Lalo that he does not trust anyone on the US side of his operation and she's right.
    "Where to?" asked Nacho twice this episode. Instead of asking, "How's the boss, Hector Salamanca?" Or, "What happened? How's the lawyer?" or something similar to show that he cares about Lalo's or Hector's businesses. Nacho wanted to leave Lalo out in the desert to wait for the twins to pick him up, that's hella cold. Lalo definitely noticed this. Nacho does not like any of the Salamancas and it shows.
    Kim going off on Lalo like that, that bought some time for them to do something, whatever it may be. Whether they use the disappearer (Mike probably knows him), or whether Kim goes back to her hometown. As far as Lalo knows, he knows her as "Kim Goodman," not her actual name, so there is a chance she could walk away. Maybe.

    4. If it wasn't for Nacho, Gus would've killed Jesse in Breaking Bad...

    There are ertain things better left unsaid.
    Also, had Jimmy admitted to Lalo that he originally lied about what happened, Lalo would've killed both Jimmy and Kim since they now can'tbe trusted. There's a reason why Mike wanted Jimmy to stick to the story.

The second Saul answered that phone call from Mike after the knock at the door it went from 0-100. Heart pounding. Gut sinking. I was 100 percent sure that when Kim said „Jimmy“ to come to the door she would get shot by Lalo. This scene was so intense!

    the actress that portraits Kim... just awesome. So much feellings ... the writing genius too obviously, but her acting... my god. Rewatching the intro when she cries... so genuine ro relatable.. love her

    Bolsa ordered the hit because 7 mil to free Lalo means 7 mil reasons for the gov to look into Lalo and if that happens, it leads to the Cartel.
    Also the beauty of Kim ‘advising’ Lalo is unbeknownst to her, she inadvertently set Lalo’s eyes on Nacho. For now, Gus Mike and Nacho have hid their undercover well but Kim with no knowledge of any of their operations, revealed all to Lalo, just by defending Jimmy

    Probably one of my favorite episodes. So tense towards the end. Amazing.

    I cant imagine them killing Kim. I dont think Saul would be able to be a part of her dying, and still going on to keep being a lawyer. Even he has more morals than that haha but its in the Breaking Bad universe, so who knows?!?! Haha

    Kim was an absolute bad-ass in this episode. She did the same thing with Chuck when he called Jimmy out on his stunt of changing the Mesa Verde address.

    If Nacho was up in the house too. "did i ever tell you the definiton of insanity? Telling the same story over and over expecting different results"

    Since Saul is still afraid of Lalo in that one episode of Breaking Bad, we are coming very close to the shows overlapping.

      Still like 4 years off. If anything, Jimmy doesn't know Lalo's fate and is in constant fear that he'll return.

      Tuco is still in prison

      I guess Tuco wouldn't get out on good behavior. We don't know how long he's been out in breaking bad. Is there going to be a big time jump next season? I just want the final scene of bcs to be Walt and Jesse walking into the office. Cut to black.
