    Can I ask what mpg you were getting, especially on motorway journeys?

    • @Poncho202
      @Poncho202  2 года назад +2

      Of course; this is one of the strong points of the car! Combined MPG is just below 50MPG and on motorways we were consistently hitting 60-65MPG 👍

    It's odd that you suffered such bad tyre wear in the rear.
    Possible causes I would suspect could be under inflation, or a poor wheel alignment where the tyres were set to toe in or out. With regard to the latter, some tyre dealers purposely align rear wheels this way so the tyres scrub against the road, wearing quickly.
    Does anyone have any other similar issues?

    • @Poncho202
      @Poncho202  3 года назад +1

      Yes, my Dad and I noticed that it was a ring around the middle of each rear tyre that wore out first. We think this might be something to do with the sporty setup and the fact that the tyres are set slightly wider apart than the standard Octavia

    • @sotonjoe
      @sotonjoe 3 года назад

      It's not normal at all. Probably a combination of driving style and definitely some problem with alignment. Bit odd that the owner has gone through three sets of rear tyres without seemingly getting the alignment setup properly.

    • @sotonjoe
      @sotonjoe 2 года назад

      @@chris3385zzzz not on mine at all

    • @richardsmeeton8910
      @richardsmeeton8910 2 года назад +4

      It’s usually the rear alignment setup that causes inner tyre wear. On the vRS mk3 the rear multi-link is factory set at -1.45 negative. Unless you’re going on a track, reduce it to -1.15 and the wear rate is much improved.

    my dad wanted to buy one but they say that 2.0 184hp diesel drinks to much oil like 1l in 1000 km. Is it right did you any trouble?

    • @Poncho202
      @Poncho202  4 месяца назад

      We didn't have any problems concerning oil usage. Only had an oil change as part of the service once a year, nothing in addition 👍

    Really not a good review at all sorry just my opinion

    • @Poncho202

      Although this video was not the in-depth review (more of a last laugh for the vRS) your opinion is of course valid and I'm always trying to improve my content. In addition, we were not selling it we traded it in for another Skoda; it just happened to have not had an interior wash at the time of filming this video.

    Oh god do I really have to explain this it's all about cost all the companies do this Octavia comes in various models so rather than having a bespoke exhaust system they have a fake exhaust so you can drive in your diesel with the same look as the petrol there for saving the company money ok school is over for today

    • @Poncho202
      @Poncho202  2 года назад

      It's not the exhaust system that's fake, it's the exhaust tips, which I and many other motoring journalists find unnecessary. And yes we all get that it's to boost the sales figures and earn a profit. That's the general idea of a business..
