I BOUGHT A SKODA OCTAVIA VRS FOR HALF PRICE!! HOW?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 окт 2022
- In today's video I buy a Skoda Octavia VRS to replace the one I bought a few years ago, it was very cheap and I need to find out why...
Fake £20’s? I’d hoover the carpets Dean, there will be about 1k worth of bugle in that 😂
The damage almost looks like it could have been boxed in by the police 😂
I was thinking the same myself, a vehicle used by crims. A forged £20 is very serious, hand it in ;)
or it was the police
I was thinking the same, also the Rizlas in between the seats with the corners torn off. I was thinking if its got markers on it, he's going to have the fun of getting pulled often too...
One of the most humble and down-to-earth mechanic channels I have ever seen; and I indeed enjoyed every single episode he filmed. Skoda is indeed very much underrated these days and would not interest snobbery at all. I gave up my Beemer 7 series for a Kodiaq, regretted very much for my late decision. I used to drive a 17 plate Octavia and a few 18/19/20 plate Superbs, their boot size is mini van alike capable of bringing a fridge home with the boot shut!
Had a race blue petrol VRS and it is an amazing everyday car. Quick, drives well and as capacious as a van. Such a shame that this one has been neglected in the way it has. Can’t wait to see it brought back to life.
As you said in the video, it was listed a few times on Copart. I saw it on there 4 or 5 weeks ago, did the basic history checks and decided against it because the front end looked doctored up. If the letter after the lot number on the window sticker was C or Q (its sometimes hard to see in the pictures), it was definitely a private entry. I hope you don't uncover loads more damage under the bumper. On the subject, I reckon the caps match the rest of the car (Candy White) and the bumper is the wrong paint code (possibly Moon White metallic). I think you got lucky finding the gearbox for that price, I wouldn't be surprised if the clutch and flywheel kit cost more than that! For £7.5k there's not a lot that can beat it though, I'm currently in an 2014 XC60 D5 R Design with Polestar and £12k of options that owes me £6.5k, it was on Copart for about 2 months but the insurance company let me have it after I rejected 3 of their counter bids. It was Cat N with 9mph front corner damage and I was really lucky to get a bumper & wing in the same colour. It was back on the road 11 days later and to my amazement, it was a mint car with really good service history and a previous owner that really took care of it.
@@Chris-hw4mq I think you can inspect before bidding, I've never actually taken the plunge and bought anything on copart mainly because I have a wife who will kill me if I went off and bought a cat N and then spend £££'s that she would much prefer to spend on shoes.
you got luck there mate, well played.
With DPF, I used Mannol DPF cleaner on an audi TT that was over the regen limit. It dropped the soot level low enough for a forced regen to work. It's fairly accessible on that engine, should be able to do it from above.
The wife had a vauxhall mokka 1.7 cdti. The DPF light came on a couple of times while we had it. We’d stick it in 3rd and drive it along the dual carrageway for a few miles and that would sort it out. Revs were through the roof while driving but done the trick. Worth a try when you get the gear box
One of the things i like about your channel is you get straight to how much it cost etc without delaying it several videos to the end.
The limit is 45g, it won't initiate after that. After that you'll replace the filter or clean it and then you'll let ecu know that new dpf been fitted.
I dont think you need to tell it there's a new one - as soon as it sees black pressure low enough it will allow a forced regen.
Take off dpf, use an acid based traffic film remover, block one side the dpf and fill it with tfr and some water, leave it a few hours and rinse the dpf out, repeat if needed. Then reattach and do a forced regen, change the oil and oil filter afterwards.
Is that the same for a DPF on the 1.6 Flavia ?..Thanks.
Wouldn't be a good vid without some drama! Did chuckle slightly when you said you had no 4th gear too but the best bit is that we get to see you sort it all out! Another great one Dean, look forward to the next installment!
I had a 15 plate vRS hatch for four years and 83k.
It was fundamentally boring as shit, but it was literally the best car that I’ve ever had. It just worked, it never annoyed me, lugged us all about on holiday, had mountain bikes lobbed in it and was used like a van when we moved. It did all of that with aplomb.
That was my issue with my 2016 1.8, fast as fuck car that pulls anything with ease. But jesus christ was it a boring car.
That's why I look at VAG cars and never go through with actually buying one, they're just so dreadfully boring.
Very easy to modify and make not boring though
I'm a big fan, but I have to say that rap music shite was a huge turnoff
Sorry, can’t please everyone with music. That’s why I always mix it up. Always going to piss someone off 🤣
Agreed. Please don’t use that noise pollution music like all the other car you tubers (particularly the ones that talk like they are in top boy). one of the reasons your channel is so watchable is because you don’t use said music or any silly edgy editing, just pure solid content 👍
@@SavingSalvage The 'music' sounds like what the previous owners would listen to. Avoid at all costs!
Really looking forward to seeing more I enjoyed your last VRS project so much I watched them all again this weekend! 👍
I have a 14 plate VRS estate. So happy to see a video of a car I own. I completely agree that there is no better allrounder for the money.
Congrats on the 100k subs! Re DPF you could try doing the procedure in VCDS for installing a new DPF. That will trick the system and let you do forced regens. Do that plus add some DPF cleaning product in the exhaust system through the temp sensor hole and you may have successful results. It is a long shot but I can say from experience I had good result and avoided DPF replacement. Hope that helps! Cheers
This is very true, and worth a try. Don’t forget to put an additive in the DPF to help it
You need to clean the DPF before resetting DPF values or it can damage the DPF or cause a fire👍🏽😅
@@dangarrard6697 surely is not the indicated method but with the right DPF cleaned you may stand a chance. I used Wurth for example and worked well. I see the point about fire 😬😅 but I believe DPF has temp sensors on it in order to put the car in safe mode when temp rises well before it reaches fire risk.
@@agispapadopoulos6737 Best DPF cleaner on car DPF cleaner is either JLM 2 stage cleaner or launch uk DPF cleaner 👍🏽

Copart really need a 'does it stink of weed' report for every car
I suspected
definetly
I thought I clocked some silver's 😂😂
Such a Great mechanic very knowledgeable. I have an Octavia VRS petrol estate 2005 for 6 years or so now. Quite a few cosmetic issues to sort electric windows, door locks but otherwise all good. Wish I had a friend who was into looking after and maintaining it....I will look out for other videos. Thank You 😊
I had the same problem with the dpf. Not sure what the limit is but my mechanic said it was 5g over so wouldn't force regen. I took it to another garage for a clean and they found it was the DPF pressure sensor which is a very cheap, plasticy part but causes the same symptoms as your having. Worth a check!
I've got a 2010 Octavia L&K and it's a brilliant all rounder. Don't think I could think of anything better to replace it with. Mines a 2.0 TDI also and I use an android app called VAGDPF to help monitor my DPF levels. Its also handy to see the status of a regen as it gives your a percentage bar from when its full to clean. I always continue my journey until until the regen finishes, usually no longer than 5-10 minutes.
I always loved my mk4.5 ford mondeo estate 2.0l tdi, remapped to 185ps, I could comfortably lye in the boot. on a run he would get 60mpg around town he would get 45mpg. loved him. God I miss him.
I had a MK1 white WRC spec Octavia VRS, remapped to 225bhp, I loved that car and was one of the best cars I have ever owned, I was gutted when I had to sell it, I would buy it back in a heartbeat if I could ever find it.
Got my 2015 VRS in May already put 20k on it love it. Since I picked one up noticed lots of people grabbing them as they have dropped into a really sweet price bracket. Practical quick and good looking
I owned a mk1 pd130 Octavia estate and when you said your Octavia had been one of your best cars ever I totally understood. Practical, fast and ultra reliable. They just don't make cars like that anymore.
I think they do still make cars like this Ian. They called Octavia 2, 3, & 4! OK, they get more complicated but its a lovely well thought out car. Having been a fan of 3 series Beemers from as far back as 86, I became divorced from BMW when they left owners with catastrophic engine damage after their no maintenance timing chains stretched beyond the capacity of the tensioner. My diesel engine ended in big chunks of metal in the sump. So, since then (2015), I've never looked back after driving the Octavia mk2. I maintain it myself too, which is not too bad with the Haynes manual. One just has to look beyond the pipes and sensors and realise that underneath its an engine. It is however, those sensors that are the biggest plague you are likely to suffer. Its just one or two things that keep popping up in the forums like the over rotating flap motor P2015 error that denies your car an MOT pass. Not hard to solve once you go beyond the cryptic messages in the DTC code checking tools. Manifold flap motor my friends. He is your biggest enemy to having fun with your Octy. Apart from that, when you've done a lot of miles, you'll need to clean your DPF. Not nearly as bad as it sounds though. A mobile mechanic can pop over and get it out for you and just £25 and a lot of water, you can clean it and save over £100 using some service you don't know how effective it is. I've just actually explained this below as to how I did mine. Have fun.
I really like the Octavia VRS, although being a Škoda fanatic I am biased lol, seriously though I always wanted a VRS model, they were just too expensive to buy, and equally as expensive to insure, you’ve shown a way to overcome this, if mechanically minded ❤
I reckon it’ll be pretty straight forward to get it back in shape and you’ll have a nice car worth way more than you’ve put into it. Good luck 🤞🏻
I have been driving one of the cheapest VW up! and it is visually a real beater... hail damage all over the roof, bonnet and on each panel. Paint damage absolutely everywhere like parking damage, chips in places where no one would have thought that stones would get there... Stickers from the previous owner that cannot be removed, because it was a care service car.
But technically the car is a dream and that's where I put my money. The car looks really rough and no one would expect that the car has notoriously been serviced and cared for.
Half price is in this case a half car.....never the less it is a very nice car and more then worth to fix ! Congrats with 100.000 followers !!!
For me, it's the Mondeo MK4.5 with a 2.2L TDCi. It can be tuned to have a massive power.
I do like the Skoda though, I'm just kind of bummed about it's figures. I thought it'd be more powerful, being a "VRS" and everything. It's not bad or anything, just you know, if it's VRS, I expected it'd be a powerhouse. But, practicality is indeed top notch.
I've had 3 Octavia VRS in that model.
Never gave me a days trouble absolutely fantastic cars.
Thats a cracking buy. Not too shabby already but once fixed you will have a real beauty. Congrats Dean
My brother's C4 Picasso had same DPF issue three days before he was due to trade it in. Refused to be forced into a regen. Ended up taking it off, dumped two tins of Mr Muscle oven cleaner down it and flushed it with hose pipe and it fixed it up a treat.
Great car anyway, even with the duff box it's still a bargain and fresh clutch n box is a great resale point.
I’ve used mr muscle, works well.
I just part ex’d my 2017 golf GTD estate. One of my favourite cars I’ve ever had. Stage 1 took it up to 226bhp and 550nm (dyno tested) so it had plenty of punch while being super practical for my family of 5. Probably the only car I’ve been gutted to see go, even though I was upgrading.
Shame about the gearbox Dean but you’ll get it sorted. I’ve also got a white 63 plate Octavia VRS TDI but a saloon version and it’s hands down one of the nicest driving cars I’ve owned. I got it on just under 150k miles and it honestly drives like it’s got less than half of those miles! I agree with your comment about it being the best car to buy for about £7k ish, I looked at loads of things and just kept coming back to these! Great car! Good luck with it mate, looking forward to seeing the progress 👍
You'll get that sorted. We love the Octavia Diesels. I've got a 2008 L&K 2.0l tdi on 200,000 still going strong and we just picked up another one from 2008 on 110,000 for the lovely lady as well. Proper workhorse and so spacious. Never known a more practical and reliable car. We used to be Audi fans until things started going wrong on them. We are very lucky to have a superb (no pun intended) VAG Indy mechanic. He can't fault them. Good luck with that gearbox.
Regarding the 3rd and 4th gear, try gear linkage. That worked for me 😊
Could be as simple as that, good suggestion!
Thats what I thought when it was 3rd and 4th both not working. Plus I doubt the gearbox was knackered before it crashed
Yup, my thoughts too.
I had a 2008 Octavia Scout 2.0 diesel (not the common rail variant). After replacing worn out camshaft after 220000 miles, DPF got completely clogged, so much so that it was behaving as a 50 hp car instead of 140. No power whatsoever, couldn't even reach 55 mph. I drove it for a hundred miles before I had any power back. Full throttle, 55 mph on the highway lol. After another hundred it felt like a maaaybe an 80 hp car. Only then I went to the dealership and they connected the laptop, similarly to what you've done here, but they actually instructed me to drive and keep the engine between 2000 and 2500 rpm. After that everything cleaned up nicely and the car behaved like new. They said I've done the best part of the cleaning job by driving it couple hundred miles. Sold it at around 240k miles, and the guy that bought it off of me still uses it great. Dunno if any of this applies to the newer engine you've got here, but I thought I'd share my experience.
I had over 50 sot in my A4 2.0TDI. Bought DPF cleaning fluid and sprayed that thru the tube going to differential pressure measurement. Worked like a charm and after that made a running adaption. Not standstill adaption.
Soot is measured from the DPF pressure sensor. So it’s just a calculation. You’ll need to make sure the pressure sensor is working properly if it’s not then will need replacing it possible the pipes from the DPF have issues.
You can clean the DPF on the car with the right tools and fluid 👌🏽👍🏽 after cleaning reset the DPF values and will be possible
To do a static regen or a dynamic one of the soot level is low enough after cleaning 👌🏽
Basically make sure the pressure sensor is working and reading correctly using a mityvac 👌🏽👍🏽
I had a Leon FR 184 hatchback a few years ago and loved it, responsive and quite a frugal engine when driven sensibly (says the person who ran the car in perpetual sport mode 😁).
Bought the TSI 2.0 220HP twin of this (white with original xtreme rims) in Nov 2014 and driving it still with 138.000 km without any issues. Best car I ever had.
I drove a 2010 around for a while and I found it to be fantastic I took it down the M1 a couple of tomes and had to be so careful as i went up the on ramp to join the traffic and was approaching 90 as i joined. No first gear is sneaky My son and I purchased a Mini diesel and it had no second gear and i test drove it and found out and we got it for less tan 50% of he wanted as I did a quick guess and said it would be at least £600 just for the box.
My Regen used to be hit 70 on the Slab and keep the revs up above 2 000 but that was on a Vauxhall Astra SRI 2.0 CDTI.
I have bought a 2009 and then 2015 Octavia RS wagon (Estate for you guys!) and loved both of them! Generally fault free although they dropped the option of a manual diesel in Australia for 2015 so I had to go with the DSG, and I was never a fan of it. It was sometimes slow to drop a gear when I wanted to jump lanes from standing still for example. The manual was a much better option. Overall the specification and size of the wagon was excellent. It is a shame I sold my 2015 to be honest. I thought it was time for an upgrade but didn't need to and should have kept the Skoda.
What car did you downgrade toward?
@@Pyrochemik007 LOL to be honest we used an old Kia for 12 months before I buying a SsangYong Korando which has been a pretty good car I must admit, but nowhere near as good as the Octavia.
Picked up a white vrs estate myself 5months ago. Best car I’ve owned fun to drive an practical
Same platform the Golf Alltrack. Talked to a dealer and he told me that Mk7 Alltrack sold better here than the Mk6 Octavia VRS. But you're absolutely right, there isnt any better car to have. Been looking for one to and the only one for sale atm is whites in that yr both FWD and 4x4
i have a 15 plate one of these, so far its been a brilliant car, reliable, plenty of space, economic.
45g soot limit as other people have mentioned. Also check the fitting instruction when you refit emissions module back on. They can crack after a period of time if not fitted the correct way. Keep up the quality builds boss
Better allrounder? An A4 3.0tdi allroad. Easy map to 300bhp, 4wd, auto and also a big estate. Absolute unit of a towing machine.
They are a great car very versatile, as for dpf always take of the egr valve as it contributes to blocking them so would benefit from a clean too and don't remove dpf buy cleaner in a can which breaks down the soot making regeneration easier I use it every time
With BMW diesel engines you can resolve DPF issues which prevent forced regen by just driving the car on open roads for an hour or so. That naturally regenerates the DPF and after you get backpressure low enough you can invoke the forced regen to really burn off the soot. Also, on BMW engines, having glow plug faults, and probably other faults, can block forced regen so try clearing fault codes too. In fact, on my previous BMW 535d, I had to drive along with “request regeneration” enabled and continuously clear the excess backpressure fault code every 30 seconds or so in order to maintain the regen long enough to get on top of the problem. Basically every time I squeezed the throttle it detected excess backpressure and disabled regen. After 30 mins of this it was able to maintain regen and cleared out all the soot. Obviously I wasn’t operating a laptop while driving so you’ll need a passenger for that.
I was going to comment that it might be the same fault as the Wheeler Dealers Audi TT with a selector fork coming loose, but you’ve found a replacement box now, so it’s immaterial. Good luck with this.
Congrats on the 100k subs, too, very well deserved.
Drove this model, same engine, for 177k over 4 years. Lots of fun, real workhorse, but it was horrible with oil. From new (!) it was chugging oil at around 1 liter per 6000km. High, but the dealer never saw any issue in this and kept sending me away. At 80k it needed a new EGR valve and the turbo housing had cracked. I didn't have any troubles with it, they spotted it during regular maintenance and it was replace under warranty.
Yup, mine guzzles oil like there's no tomorrow.
@@padanfain7466 soo... normal for VW 2.0 TDI engine then?
Found a Channel that also works on diesels! Love it👌🏼 🇬🇧
I did a forced regen past weekend using OBDeleven. A broken wire in the maf connector caused the car (2009 A6 Allroad 3.0tdi) to not regen while driving.
I was told oil temp should be 70°C or higher, soot level no more than 60gr (chance of vehicle catching fire). Mine was at 36gr, so can’t be sure the limit is not 40gr. I replaced the broken wire but struggled to get it to work due to differing descriptions of how to do it, found it wouldn’t start a regen after a failed attempt UNLESS I stopped and restarted the engine. It was then just a matter of following instructions (‘press brake’ ‘release’, ‘press accelerator’ and ‘release’) and it sat at 1000-1200rpm iirc for about half an hour in the driveway… reached 660°C!
So… when you have a dpf, don’t drive around for a few days 🤣
Wife has same engine in a3 convertible. Good content from this car to be had
Great vid and new project. My old vrs was the same and drinking a lot of oil which was then filling up the dpf
I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the Skoda Octavia until I watched your video on the first one you bought Dean now I'd like to own one in the future
I've never really looked at an octavia vrs before but I like the look of them. I have a 2011 mondeo titanium x estate 2.0d for the same reason, brilliant daily, massive boot for the dog or shopping. Clutch is on its way out now though and it's a pig of a job to do 🤣
I'm on my 2nd Mk3 vrs tdi. My current one an estate I bought from copart and fixed it up. Brilliant car. Quick and economical but the DSG.
Wise move buying the replacement box but it would still be good to see you strip the old box apart to try and see the issue.
Probably just a fork slipped off the ring
45g I think is the limit for a forced regen, and ash content will just skyrocket after each attempted regen when driving, 80g them is essential car shut down/limp home mode and needing full replacement.
As for the stop start error, check the plug on the gear box, the wires have no slack in them and often nip just at the base of the plug
Stevie Wonder respray... love it
Congratulations on 100k, you deserve a lot more, and some luck too….
ive got a mk1 2003 petrol vrs octavia , had since 2013. 210000 miles never let me down been italy twice everything works .
Am on 536,000 👍
Once the dents are sorted get it wrapped defo got a good deal there especially if your using it as a work horse
I have said this before but I’d love to see a video of all the cars you have for sale 😊
Gearboxes usually lose first and second, probably similar problem with the selector fork inside the box wanting bolting back on. People can fix it for you cheap if you take the box out for them ready. Something you can do yourself if you want to have a go.
check if the ac is running properly. if not, together with these other errors (start stop, and dpf), it can mean the outside thermometer is not working, therefore it won't let you start the dpf regen.
Being high mileage I would start by checking EGR valve , and injectors , unburnt fuel blocks up the dpf also dpf pressure sensor
You can't beat a skoda estate especially a vrs one, I can't believe it's been 2years since you got the other skoda vrs hopefully it won't take too much to fix congrats on the 100k subs
The best car! And how nice you still have the other Octavia RS. I have the same. 285.000 km (only 2.0 TFSI). Looks like new and amazing how big that boot is. Many more happy miles with these vehicles. Škoda Octavia RS ❤️
Beautiful car Dean. Hope you have as much fun fixing it as you do driving it!!😎👍
The shape is very similar to a MK5 Golf estate that I owed once..You can see similarities in most estates made by the VW group...
I'm a big fan of the Skoda range, Superb cars..Long gone are the days when Lada -skodas being used in the same sentence..😆😆..
14:00 genuinely made me laugh, that cut was perfect
Take the dpf off and poor in 5l of patio degreaser leave for an hour and pressure wash out. Then add 5l of brick acid and leave for a couple of hours and pressure wash out again. Total cost about £15 from tool station and you will have a nice clean dpf again.
Love it! You think you get a bargain but end up with a pig! It's happens to me too many times, just got to grin and fix the bloody thing. Great video, I love the skodas, owning a taxi business I have a fleet of them, try other brands but always turn bk to skaoda, shocked about the box, thay usually bomb proof. Going off tomorrow to see a cheap superb, wish me luck
Love mine. Amazes me how much more interior space and boot space you get compared to my 54 plate a4 avant.
I simply love Skoda. My parents had an Octavia TDI 90hp from 1999 bought new, then an Octavia 2007 Sport 2.0TDI 140hp semi-new and now I have a Superb 1.9 TDI 130hp remap 170hp and I there is no other car who can compete with mine beside audi A6, bmw 7 and mercedes S. the rest are smaller than mine. I wish I had a VRS from that year. a new gearbox and you have an awesome SW!
That gearbox being 3rd and 4th gears gone is likely to be the shifter fork? If so you might have got luck and had a really easy fix.
I bought mine with 10k on the clock. It was problematic. But nice to drive and very practical. Water pumps prone to failure on there's.
Vauxhalls, you can cheat the sensor to force regen. I think putting a resistor across the sensor to get the dpf cherry hot, according to my vaux mechanic mate
They..work really well.if you.get past badge snobbery.good car, servicing is essential to keep up
Had 3 VRS’s the last being a 2015 identical to your new one. Outstanding cars 👍🏼
It's my favourite car ever. Had 2 if these. A 65 TDI and a 18 plate 245 edition. Chewed the miles down
Had this dpf prob a couple of weeks ago taken out and cleaned car now works perfect 👍👍
Dean when I used to do static regenerations I took the car out for a drive then put a litre of forte d p f cleaner in then let it go cold then run it up to running temp then start the regeneration and let it do the job putty about the gearbox though mate but like you say you got it for half bat so a bit lee way for you looking forward to the next video dean good luck buddy 👍
You might want to check the header tank, if it has MIT SILIKAT printed on it it will probably contain a bag, look at the colour of the coolant it ought to be pink(ish) these bags are known to split and end up clogging the heating system, Skoda want, I think, around £1300 -£1600 from Joe Public to sort it out.
I have a 66 plate 2.0 diesel not a VRS, the bag in mine was ok but I still changed the tank for one without the bag this time last year at a cost of £27.50, you might want to bear this in mind moving forward
Why oh why!, Does Stevie always get the blame for someone else's shoddy workmanship. I just can't see why! 🤷🏾♂️ 😎
🤣
To check what the limit is for forced regen go into measuring values(not advanced) find the channel with the soot level and hover over it the way you did to see the security code and it’ll show you the specific value for your car
I've had my 61 plate Octavia vrs TDI for 6 years,6 mot passes with no advisories....great car👍👍
We have a 2007 Octavia 2.0 TDI with 6 speed DSG. It is L&K not VRS but love it and it is currently on 182,000 and not missing a beat!
Good Job Dean and congratulations on reaching 100K!
Been running Skodas for years currently on my 2nd Kodiaq, but if I had to go £7k I agree with you an Octy Estate is the do it all, but I would select the Scout rather than Vrs same engine line ups though the higher bhp only comes in DSG but Scout has 4x4, had a Mk 2 and my dad currently runs a Mk3 Scout same load lugging capacities with the ability to go off road, looking forward to more of this car!
Can the 4X4 on the scout be turned onn/ Off ? Was thinking of it in terms fuel.economy
Skoda's in general are work horses they just won't die. Brilliant car great video
As a past Volkswagen technician when we would put diesel vehicles into forced regeneration. We would test drive the car with the software running (ODIS) until prompted it was complete or when the “Glow Plug” light would shut off. The same should apply to this Skoda, I’m from the US so we don’t have these vehicles but it’s basically a Volkswagen at the end of the day. So try forced regeneration and drive the car for about 30min to 1hour.
The rizla's between the seat and the centre armrest (area) say enough bro 😂😂😂
Check and change dpf pressure sensor 10£ -15£ on ebay. On vag cars the sensor is the fault and stops to regen. Also check the pipes from sensor to dps bank 1 and bank 2
Had the same problem with DPF on mine 1.6 engine Octavia. Just drive it in 3rd or 4th gear in higher revs and it will clean it self. I had best result doing 100km/h in 4th gear on higway.
I fixed the DPF on my 145k BMW 320d by just driving down the road using INPA on my laptop, which you need to know German and have a degree to operate, to watch the EGT temps, when they climbed to 500-550degrees I knew a regen was trying to start, the DPF light would come on, exhaust temp would come down, and the regen would stop. I hit the reset button to clear the codes as soon as the light came on and kept on driving at 60mph in 4th gear until the DPF light stopped coming on and the regen carried on. You really need to give the engine some load to get the temperature hot enough to burn off the carbon, I wouldn't trust it just idling at 1krpm on a driveway! Got it up to 188k before I sold it after that. Looks like you'll need to find 4th in that chocolate box first to do it though!
O'Reilly's RUclips channel sorts out dpfs alot and recommends launch dpf cleaner for this to deep clean it or flow restorer in with the fuel if its not too bad.. these need to always have at least a quarter tank of diesel to do passive re gens .
I found the 184ps engine to be way inferior to the 170ps. Way thirstier especially from cold and less revvy.
Should stirp the box and find out what it is, might easy fix ! I know the old golf gear boxes sheer the rivet type fixing holding the selector fork on the shaft, fixed it with a nut and bolt! 🤣
