Just wanted to let you guys know, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan also acknowledged and admired Darwin's work in one of his magazine "Tahzib-ul-Akhlaq" in 1871. He showed rationally how Darwin's theory does not contradict religious thought, and he was one of the first religious scholars in the Islamic world to adopt this view.

Thanks for the nice content. I think introgression/admixture remains a significant problem in the field. For instance, as you know, in most cases, after the advent of genomics and the availability of big data (multi-locus data, I mean), a number of taxa show contradictions between their gene and species trees. Also, one interesting gap is how speciation takes place even in the presence of gene flow; I remember an interesting paper on blue whales published in Science Advances by Axel Janke's group that elucidates this nicely. What I've noticed is that there should be more general information on sex chromosome recombination, which plays a great role in evolution too.
Currently, I see many people are talking about evolution, that sounds great but unfortunately, we are still far behind in the field. The mentioned literatures are too old. "A study on menopause in Chimpanzee" recently published in Science by Sir Kevin Group is even another interesting aspect that need a touch. Nonetheless, a paper in nature recently published on tail loss in human "on the genetic basis of tail loss evolution in human and apes" is worth reading. Hope that sounds interesting 😅

loved the few bits. the joke about More (peacock) will be no more. (what a great pun)
also fascinating part about cousin marriages. sadly in UK the Pakistanis do the same while having gene pool available they still prefer "cousin marriages" lol . (not all but there is a large enough pool of people that do that)
also fascinating about the memory of the DNA continuing to remember past events of past generations.
Science has unlocked it all for people to see and with AI in 10 years it will be new dawn. fascinating times.
