Afzal Hussein hey man! Great video just wanted to know a bit more about yourself, what were your a level grades? And how big a factor will it be when banks are considering people summer internships/springs As I got AAC and I’m slightly worried if that’s okay for banking
My advice: Make sure you set up meetings with people that you meet during the week, outside of the SW timetable. These are the people that will vouch for you when they are deciding if you deserve the internship. Btw. Wish this video was out a year ago.
Haha, thanks! Case studies usually require you to solve a previous actual client situation/problem. It's so the company can see your approach and working style.
Hi Afzal. Thank you for the amazing video. I just got the spring week offer From Natwest and will be attending soon. Could you make a video of how to perform well in a virtual spring week and stand out that way?
This is the video I’ve been waiting for! Amazing advice Afzal. Also you mentioned that a return offer gives you a “safety net” while applying to other summers. How quickly is this offer given out and how long is it valid?
Glad you like it! It really varies with organisations. Some get back with offers within 2 weeks, others within less than a week. They usually give you a week or two to sign the contracts.
I’m sure someone has asked you this before, but can you make a video discussing MBA’s? You certainly don’t need one to break into IB or banking in general, but might they confer benefits to candidates with undergraduate degrees from non-target schools?
I know the internships arent for money its for networking, learning the business and picking up skills related to the role but as someone who would have to go from manchester to london, I would have to rent somewhere short term for the summer internship and maybe airbnb for the spring week, do both internships pay and if so what are the rough figures so and how many weeks does the summer internship last? thanks for the great video!
Hello, thanks for sharing great tips for getting into financial services! I would like to know what’s the app name or link which you mentioned in this video for summaries on financial news. It would be great if you could share the link of that app!
Hi! My name is Antonio and I have my spring week in three weeks at bnp in global markets. Was wondering if there was any good page with currency mental conversion tests that i could practice with and also if you could shed any insight on the trading game they do in the A.C. thank you very much on advance and great videos! Great work!
hey afzal, your prior spring week video suggested wearing a navy suit; although, i was wondering if employers pay a lot of attention to the quality of your suit? Is it bad if my budget is between 70-80 quid? Thanks!
Absolutely not, far more important is the effort you make into looking smart, just make sure the suit fits you properly and appear well groomed. Nobody expects you to have an SR suit on your spring week !
Hey...great video..i have s chance to do a 3 month internship at deutsche bank in the global transaction banking division, which is not what I wanna do. Should i go there to Network and get my name out or is it a waste of time?
Please feel free to like, comment and share this video so more students can benefit from its content! :) Oh, and SUBSCRIBE too for weekly videos!

This is a very useful channel for me.
Thank you. 👍
Top video again , but then what else do we expect !! Quick question what does the case study usually include ??

@@AfzalHussein I appreciate your regular replies on everyone's comments not just my own. One of the best on RUclips and for that we are all grateful.

So that’s what I was wondering. How will it be a safety net while applying to summers at other organisations if the offer is only valid for 2 weeks?
Good question. Basically, many students sign contracts and then renege on them if they receive a preferable offer.
Ah yes that. I thought about that, wouldn’t it damage your reputation with that company if you break your contract? And hurt future employability
Hi Afzal, can you share with us how to convert spring week to summer intern when the spring week is virtual this year?
Afzal, could you tell me a current news story that is impacting asset management firms, apart from Brexit?
great video but your phone keeps buzzing in the background
Thanks! Yeah, apologies for that annoying mistake. Next time it's going on mute :)

Hey! What Shane said is correct. Effort trumps everything 👊🏼

Would it make sense to do a spring week in third year... followed by a summer internship?
Sprin weeks are for first year students of a 3 year degree or second year students of a 4 year degree.
anyone got an offer from hsbc? Please reply if you do, would be a massive help!
