Geoff shows how he does those subharmonics on his RUclips channel. If you are singer who can sing deep bass, this showing will help you hitting subharmonics. In his speaking voice, Geoff is a baritone.
The clap sounds with the voice is called spit snare or BMG Snare (after the beatboxer that innovated it, BMG) and if done right it sounds *exactly* like clapping hands. It has to do with pursing your lips tight enough to where you have to force air through but loose enough that air can actually still make it through, then give a quick burst of air :) Source: I've been beatboxing for 5 years ^-^
Sound more like a inward k snare over a bmg snare to me. Most of the clap sounds beatboxers use inward k snare. I've been beatboxing for 13 years but I could see to an extent see bmg but to me k snare is what they doing
Geoff has a 5 octave plus 4 range. Right now, his low note is B0 next to last note on a piano. I like meeting your fiance, well-spoken, knowledgeable, and pretty. Congrats!
The group is currently Layne, Geoff, Eli, and their new baritone Cesar. Earl was a tenor alongside Eli and he left the group, he obviously didn't leave on bad terms with the group but it wasn't ever public as to why, same with tony wakim and J None.
Watching her react to this made my Monday so much better! Glad she loved it! Don’t forget “This Is Halloween” and “What’s This?” by Voiceplay! More TNBC songs by them!
Grim Grinning Ghosts is another great cover by Voiceplay. Who am I kidding, just make a list by searching for them and you can't go wrong (much like Home Free and Pentatonix)
You mentioned Earl leaving and I was saddened to hear today that J. None Is stepping away as well but I think they have someone taking his spot but one of my favorites.
Brad you are 100 percent correct. Your fiancee is indeed beautiful. You two remind me of me and my wife when we were younger. Enjoy being part of the your journey. Keep up the good work.
So she likes Voiceplay after this one and liked the theatrical style, both of you should react to their “Phantom of the Opera” also featuring Rachel Potter! Won’t be disappointed!!
I'm two months late, but I do believe that last note Geoff hits is a sub-harmonic E1. He did a video talking about a lot of vocal stuff and that came up.
1) I always enjoy watching newbies react to this song and video....and Emily, you did NOT disappoint! 2) Brad, awesome shirt! That match is one of my all-time favorites.
Layne is the beatbox, he can also sing. Eli is the guy in red, second tenor, great range. Geoff is the bass, 😲😲😲. Earl is the guy who recently left, first tenor, amazing voice. J. None is the baritone, great range, the newest member of the group. Since Earl left they have been having guest singers. Santa is Geoff's BIL. FYI, they have also done This is Halloween, and What's This.
My favorite holidays, in terms of what they celebrate and how important I think that is, are Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving; but I cannot deny that for theatrical purposes, Halloween is a fantastic well of interesting possibilities for storytelling. I can see how it might be a theatre buff's favorite holiday.
She might enjoy Papa Sang Bass by Voiceplay. And you definitely need to show her Black Bird by Geoff. Halloween is coming up so listening to a little Poe on Geoff's channel would also be appropriate.
And now, YOU'VE SEEN/HEARD IT. Your reaction was AWESOME!!! Don't take my words as Gospel, but Geoff's note was an E1. The same as Tim Foust hits in their last video, Folsom Prison Blues. And I am sure Avi Kaplan can hit it also. It is just amazing when ANYONE does. And they do it like it is nothing. (IMO)
Favourite Holiday? Probably going with Easter. My parents knew my love of sour candies so I always got a major basket of such things (like Warheads and such) from them. I wasn't as big on the chocolate form the Easter Bunny (who I think would be much better in a lovely stew) but w/e it was nice.
Layne Stein (beat boxer) is also co-owner of PattyCake Productions. Santa is played by Geoff's neighbor. Earl left the group after a very serious health scare.
There is a band called Broken Peach that does a version of "This is Halloween". I would love to see your reaction to them. They do some other Halloween type songs and quite a few Christmas songs, along with covers of many different genres.
I don't know whether they are using claps here but there is a kind of click technique you can do that can replicate a clap when you're using a microphone so it could be either.
I love this! Is Christmas Sunday a thing of the past though? I love her reactions too! Emily is amazing and legit reacts the same way I do!!!! I freaking love it!!!! Welcome to voiceplay Emily!
Y'all should check out Steel City Revival. Out of Pittsburgh PA. They play a free show every Labor Day at Defeated Creek marina on Sunday. Before labor Day
By the way, Geoff has his own RUclips channel: Geoff Castellucci. Geoff shows and explain how to hit those subharmonic notes (subterranean) like at the end of this song. Note is E1
Geoff has at least a 4 octave vocal range. He can sing both higher and lower than most men, which is pretty dang impressive.
i’ve heard claims of a potential A5-C#0, which would take him very close to 5 octaves, which is hella insane
@@roryfollinpiano2161 That is honestly a godly vocal range. He is also really chill about it if you watch some of his talking videos.
Tim faust has a 10 octave range
@@connorlasserre347 Are you trolling or do you really believe that?
@@howardbartlett3419 he does have a confirmed 5 octave range and currently working on a 6th octave.
Geoff: oogie
Everyone: thats kind of low
Geoff: boogie
Everyone: wow thats low
Geoff: man
Everyone: WHAT!?!?
I'm sorry, could you repeat that last note? I'm not an elephant, and had a hard time hearing it.
Geoff-bass (tall, long haired guy)
Eli-tenor (bald guy)
J None-baritone (skeleton costume guy)
Earl-tenor (bearded guy)
Layne-beatboxer
I love how you described J None as the "skeleton costume guy" instead of mentioning he is the only black guy in the group.
Eli is also pronounced El-ee and not ee-lye
To get more Geoff try "Blackbird". Both of you should listen at the same time. Truly shows his range
I just listened to that last night. 🎶 AWESOME! 🎶
I agree!!!!
Yeah!!!
They should also react to Geoff's cover of Sixteen Tons, if they haven't already
the beat boxer not only does the rythems but he arranged the song
Yess the beatboxer (layne) is doing everything with his mouth
You should show her their new 'the little mermaid' medley sometime!
@Shadow*91 Pretty sure that D1 is a growl?
@@matt-dw The D1 in "The Little Mermaid" is Subharmonic
@Shadow*91 That's actually an E1
@Shadow*91 tbh i m more impressed by that run from top to bottom by Geoff during ursula's song
Santa is Geoff's brother in law
I love the her reaction to Jeff's subsonic notes,😃
*Geoff *subharmonic
Lol subsonic
Lol nearly got it right 😂
@@andrewbrace7812 lol k

That is actually interesting to know, thank you.
Nice thanks for the info

Geoff has a 5 octave plus 4 range. Right now, his low note is B0 next to last note on a piano. I like meeting your fiance, well-spoken, knowledgeable, and pretty. Congrats!
It's better with headphones.
Santa is played by Geoff's brother-in-law (who is NOT part of the group normally).
The group is currently Layne, Geoff, Eli, and their new baritone Cesar. Earl was a tenor alongside Eli and he left the group, he obviously didn't leave on bad terms with the group but it wasn't ever public as to why, same with tony wakim and J None.
J None left to join the military
I believe on their video Just Sing is says that Geoff's brother is Santa.
His brother in law
Watching her react to this made my Monday so much better! Glad she loved it! Don’t forget “This Is Halloween” and “What’s This?” by Voiceplay! More TNBC songs by them!
Earl the one that has left, one in red is eli, beatboxer is layne, geoff is bass and j none is the one in the black the end low note is an e1
If you want to show her bass, show her Tim Faust team up with Peter Hollens doing Misty Mountains.
I like Faust but if you want a great bass song you have to listen to Geoff Castellucci - The Headless Horseman
Brad you are 100 percent correct. Your fiancee is indeed beautiful. You two remind me of me and my wife when we were younger. Enjoy being part of the your journey. Keep up the good work.
Show her folsom prison blues by home free
the last low note was an E1
Layne does all that stuff with his voice. He's crazy good
So she likes Voiceplay after this one and liked the theatrical style, both of you should react to their “Phantom of the Opera” also featuring Rachel Potter! Won’t be disappointed!!
I'm two months late, but I do believe that last note Geoff hits is a sub-harmonic E1. He did a video talking about a lot of vocal stuff and that came up.
That intro gave me chills not gonna lie!!!
You two should absolutely watch their cover of "This is Halloween," also from the nightmare before Christmas. Your girlfriend will love it!
Not sure if you know, but that final note was an E1. Before finding Geoff I didn't know humans could make that sound.
4:23 -4:24 the very short fill-in deep run between the higher-pitched phrases gets almost over looked but is so rich and wonderful.
The beat boxer Layn does everything with his voice. No clapping
Yeah. We need a compilation of your intro riffs... and can I get an amen during this riff, cause they took us to church.
3:51 hahaha that nod to the camera "oh, just wait darling ;) "
1) I always enjoy watching newbies react to this song and video....and Emily, you did NOT disappoint!
2) Brad, awesome shirt! That match is one of my all-time favorites.
Show her Disney on Broadway by voiceplay!

I think you would both enjoy Voice Play doing Grim Grinning Ghosts. The song from the haunted mansion ride at Disneyland
great video. she's hilarious. That labor day comment got me!

Commenting before I watch to prepare Emily. Hold on to your drawers, because its gonna get LOW!

As a beatboxer myself, I can say the beatboxer's drums are completely possible.
How about their new song, "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" featuring Rachel Potter? SO GOOD, I watched it as soon as it came out on their Patreon.
been watching a few reactions to this song today and at this point I only watch to see that shock on people's face when they hear the final note 😂
Layne is doing all the beatboxing with his mouth. If anyone does clapping or snapping, they include it in the video so ppl know.
On his channel, Geoff released "Headless Horseman"
Favourite Holiday? Probably going with Easter. My parents knew my love of sour candies so I always got a major basket of such things (like Warheads and such) from them. I wasn't as big on the chocolate form the Easter Bunny (who I think would be much better in a lovely stew) but w/e it was nice.

Both are on my channel!
Love Emily’s reaction! Heck! I love Emily! Christmas is my favorite holiday!! Love you both!!
Good job guys, enjoying your channel heaps, keep up the awesomeness 😃♥️
How about a reaction, with Emily, of two of these great groups. 'Zombies v Hillbillies - Survivor'
This was a super fun video to watch
Priceless!
Love the intro. Nicely done.
I finally noticed the shirt.... Brad I give you a "Oh YeeeeAAhhH!" and a "WOOOOOOOO!"
Well sounds like you both need to watch the "This is Halloween" video then.... It's just as good as this, if not better. VP is awesome!
you need to have her watch Geoff Castellucci - The Headless Horseman
and now, yet another reaction to Geoff's note
Santa Clause is actually being played by Geoff's brother-n-law
Tut-tut. You forgot to give her headphones. Naughty, naughty.
Geoff hit an E1 at the end there so cool
She should react to the Moana Medley and Boy Bands in Five Minutes!
Now, you need react to "Warrios" by VoicePlay too. Geoff does a B0 note in that song!!!
He also does an A0
I don't know whether they are using claps here but there is a kind of click technique you can do that can replicate a clap when you're using a microphone so it could be either.

I love it keep doing reactions together!!!!!!!!

Santa is Geoff's brother-in-law
If you want to see Geoff go even lower, watch their cover of "Daddy Sang Bass"
Actually, Geoff has a 5 otave vocal range. His last note sung is NOT as low as he can reach, but it's an awesome F1.
The last note was an E1
He hit E1. Amazing, im a bass, and can barely do it.
The guy came back
Should be wearing headphones.
i love the movie two reason why voiceplays oogie boogie is my fav
J-None, (The guy who left) joined the US Navy.
They did a few more songs from this movie btw
Uh oh why did earl leave??
J-None left to join the marines I believe
Geoff goes from a B4 to an E1
fun fact Santa is played by Geoff's brother-in-law
Geoff has said he is really a Baritone who can sing bass.
J joined the US Navy.
Love this song 🔥👏
I can damn near keep up with Geoff bruh should I audition at disney
You should do Voiceplay's I knew you were trouble/as long as you love me cover.
By the way, Geoff has his own RUclips channel: Geoff Castellucci. Geoff shows and explain how to hit those subharmonic notes (subterranean) like at the end of this song. Note is E1
They do THIS IS HALLOWEEN !
Making christmas from the nightmare before christmas, Pentatonix please!!!!
Geoff Castalucci has a range of 5 octaves
Not sure why Earl left
Why? Why? Why?
Elaine Lúcia Dias de Oliveira don’t know. I just know the rest of the group was just as surprised and saddened as the rest of us.
Thank you Jessie....I hope isn't a depression
