This episode is a master class in how many ways you can film a guy standing at a railing and screaming at people.
He literally just confirms that everyone is working, all day.
What about the 1 second glitch on the video screen. HELLO??
Yup, I saw it too. I'm surprised no one commented this in the series.
SAME! Granted I read the book I know what it means but I'm surprised he didn't really mention it!
great analysis as usual. Would you ever cover SnowPiercer even though we're already a bunch of seasons in? Keep up the good work Captain!
Hey, thanks! I haven't watched it yet, but I'll definitely check it out.
Love all your videos. I don’t even watch Silo. You have a great voice. 😂Thank you, Nautilus!
You're the best, Eva!
Keep up the great work, man! My favorite channel, and it’s awesome to see you covering Silo. FWIW, I think you’d do great recaps of From. 👀
Thank you! Appreciate it. From might happen 😁
You missed a key plot point. When they powered down the "Windows" flickered and showed everyone for a split second it's all pretty and green outside. It was only like one frame and nobody acted like they saw it though.. Easy to miss.
I saw that too! I gasped lol
Loving this series!!!
Hey, Sara! 🙌
Haha, so hard to make a good comment without spoiling! I ended up binge watching the series after your first video about it. :)
One thing I had a question about. Right about the timestamp 33:45 to 33:50 of the episode. When the people in the cafeteria are watching the window display. What do you make of THAT :D
LOL I know exactly what you are talking about! I'm going to get into that very soon. I remember it being one of those moments that I had to rewatch a few times because I was so surprised that the writers did that.
Curious why you left the screen change out of the recap! It feels like the biggest reveal of the episode! (6:44)
This is the episode that stretched my suspension of disbelief beyond breaking point. I continued to watch the series, but always on the verge of giving up, thinking it wouldn't be worth my time by the end of the season. It wasn't worth my time.
For those looking for a really good sci-fi show, who can cope with sub-titles, then Three Body, which is free to watch on RUclips is really good, I hope Nautilus will cover the show/ books.
I have beef with this episode. Hate to criticize writing during the strike, but, damn! Guess the never work on hot machines.
She's inside, spraying water to cool it?
Never put unheated water in an overheating radiator.
Why? I can crack the engine block. Metal needs to expand, contract slowly, or it can get brittle.
Also, what happens to a shrimp when exposed to lots of steam?
Where even was the steam?
A few wisps, yeah, but should have been billowing cloud.
Also, nobody would build a machine that vital for survival without a thermostat with a kill switch.
I'm much more suspicious of IT guy than janitor.
Janitor's a Jack boot, yeah, but he can be turned, if he smells shenanigans.
IT guy is an algorithm in pants. Nothing gonna change his world. He's Right, get out of he way or get fucked.
Is that actor who plays Dad the SME guy who had a stiffy for Dany in GOT? Looks much younger, cleaned up and out of the sun so his wrinkles aren't so pronounced.
$5 says janitor gonna flip.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 💯🥵
The water "cooling" is an insult to the intelligence of the viewer, for the reasons you mentioned.
Yeah, there's a lot you have to look past when it comes to the details. They went for maximum drama with the repair scene to make their point. That is the same actor from GOT. I honestly thought they used CGI to make him look younger when I first saw him.
This episode lays a foundation for later episodes for season 2. Specifically how the Silos machines work and their function. Hint: Remember these details. Your patience and attention will pay off. Thx Nautilus fir another video. Yes, your voice is ultra fantastic!
even though I really enjoy your videos, some of them being a PowerPoint makes them pretty jarring to watch
It's a matter of time. My usual heavily edited videos take 20-30 hours to make, while the recap style videos take about 6-8. If I did them all with heavy editing, I would only be able to post about every two weeks with my real-life schedule. The recaps were initially meant to be podcasts (nothing but a visualizer) that I could post frequently. I added the screens for people who prefer to have something to look at.
