    I confess that l feel most Lexus buyers are not that excited about 0-60 times like automotive enthusiasts on this page.
    Quality, comfort, stability and nimble handling is what we looked for in our past and current Lexus cars.
    With a cop at every corner looking to fleece you, speed becomes a luxury rarely enjoyed.😊

      driving efficiently(low emissions, high miles per gallon , car longveity and low maintenance sort of mixed into it, ) is like endurance racing , avoiding need for pitstops etc, needing to get places on time but doing so efficiently (or whatever speed you want , if you dont care as much about efficiency). driving efficiently is speeding up especially on more downhill-ish roads at optimal fuel level and engine RPM(RotationPerSecond), steering and braking minimally but smoothly. optimal efficiency for toyota 2.4 inline 4 is 2/3 pedal down in 2k-3k rpm, cvt hybrid maintain constant rpm. not sure whats best to do this in: sport mode, fuel level is more, in eco mode its less. use EV mode if optimal combustion level would speed car too much (often, if car isnt letting you do that without the EV mode, it wont let you us EV mode.) use it a bit from a stop for smooth acceleration then when car is rolling use combustion then maybe use it a bit more. smooth acceleration is part of putting less weight on tires at a moment because:
      consider tire wear dust emissions and how much it cost to replace tires (most people are becoming increasingly even poorer than they already are and you can invest money into bigger money)like those "xenoestrogen endocrine disputing forever chemicals micro plastics" etc. apply less weight on tires and you'll allow more of that weight handling ability to be used for having more grip for endurance-race-pitstop-avoiding momentum preservation driving fun in the name of efficiency. being able to feel how close car is to its grip limit is good for this goal, similar to the lotus-car-enjoyers ideal.
      this type of driving fun is most safe because its nto as fast as possible but does make you rather aware of driving environment instead of being focused mostly on music/radio/daydreaming/texting, etc
      youtubes think flight, julian edgar,etc have videos on improving aerodynamic efficiency of his car.can add anti sway bar , better suspension etc "handling mods" for more momentum around turns, but some of it can make the ride bumpier, louder, etc.

      Sounds like a skill issue (I’m kidding)

    • @mervinprone
      @mervinprone 6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s not that people want to go 0-60 in 2 seconds all the time, it’s that you have to wind up a 4 cylinder before it will even get out of its own way. 6 cylinders are effortlessly smooth and powerful. It makes a much more luxurious sedan. I make an exception for turbos, which I like, but they’re certainly not ever going to be described as smooth. I’d put them in sport sedans, BMWs etc.

    • @don_huzan
      @don_huzan 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@mervinprone Yeah, supercharging seems like the more obvious choice but there’s arguments to be made that the parasitic draw at the lower RPMs may negate the linear response which is desirable from superchargers.

      The average age for a Lexus buyer reported in 2018 by CarMax was 44 and 42 for Toyota. It is true they do not care about performance. I love cars I have been to nascar events and plan to go to the 24 hours of Daytona next year and see Indycar for the first time in my life. The problem is that the average age of these buyers do not spend most of their time on the internet. Us automotive enthusiasts are a very small minority in terms of sales. Yes we make our voices heard on the internet but when the numbers are shown, we are not the ones buying the cars. It is hard to say but us automotive enthusiasts need to let go of 0-60 times and other performance aspects of cars. Our days are not that long left for NA cars. Hybrids and EVs are going to be a thing 10-20 years from now. Will it be full EV? No I do not believe so, I believe that us Americans have deluded ourselves into believing EVs are a saving grace (they are not lol) we will always need NA cars, diesels and hybrids.

      It’s legit confusing. Lexus makes faster and more powerful cars than ACURA. V8 and rear wheel drive car / full SUV nothing Acura have remotely close. On the Honda side nothing nothing exciting outside of the sole Civic Type r. And people talk about this company as if it’s this world beating car brand. Being a Honda/acura guy is like a joke you’re saying that as if it’s something worth mentioning… out of all the auto manufacturers honda and Acura people are the most delusional.

Horse power for the Sienna, RX, NX with fifth gen will have 246+24=270hp maximum. Next gen RAV4 hybrid will have 219+24=243 and RAV4 prime be 302+24=326hp. If the RAV4 hybrid is the standard powertrain in the RAV4 lineup, it will below everybody else out of the water and be game over for all of them.

There was an SUV in that promotion IIRC🧐🧐. Is this the Lexus EV three-row?? @@KirkKreifels This will definitely limit accessibility to Texas. Texas is a closed system and the four surrounding states for Toyotas. Dealers have to obtain them from the Wholesaler, not Toyota Motors directly.
      I am not sure about Lexus; however, if they are going to be imported through Los Angeles they will stay mostly on the West Coast. So, we Texas folks are screwed for obtaining any Japanese-made vehicle. Why, well I discussed obtaining a 2023 RX350h or NX350h last year (February 2023) and seven Lexus dealers in Texas told me they wanted a refundable deposit ($2,000), but could not guarantee what I wanted, and said 12 to 15 months wait. I never understood why people buy crossovers when they don't do outdoorsy things or need to haul tons of stuff. Most use their hatch hauling the same amount of stuff as someone with a trunk (nothing blocking the rear window). Might as well get a hatchback or a sedan for better handling. I have an Accord, decided to get a roof rack and box instead of buying a rav4/CRV because I realize, I can carry just as much as a crossover with a slight increase in drag. Least I can go back to a good handling sedan if I take the rack off. Never understood the point of crossovers smaller than let say, a highlander. They're taller so its not like you can install a roof box on a rav4 if you also need to park in a garage, my sedan and roof box is only slightly taller than a compact crossover and fit in most garages that can accommodate 6'4" or higher, you would need 7'2" or higher with a crossover if you have a roof box. long story short, sedan + roof box has more storage than compact crossover with needing only 3 inches more of head clearance. Also sedans are cheaper. Only thing I wish my sedan has is a hitch, but thats also extra on most crossovers.
