Also in regard to electric - personally I think these manufactures need to put the pressure on building out the infrastructure. To me owning an electric car would not be that bad if there charge stations as common as gas stations, it took maybe 10 mins to fully charge, and they were not as affected by cold weather as they are now. It’s really no wonder ev sales are starting to falter, plus add in the average price of an ev.

    It seems that Lexus is not really focusing on the Lexus ES in Japan, because in Japan itself, to compete with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class, they are prioritizing the Toyota Crown Sedan RWD, because the Crown Sedan RWD is indeed better than the Lexus ES and the price is also very competitive.

    Hi Kirk,
    For Lexus it is like the 4th quarter of a football game where a team has built up a sizeable lead and the coach decides to play “not to lose”. It’s interesting that one of the best interiors produced by Toyota is the 1794 Tundra.
    I used to love Lexus interiors. Now they are just ok, certainly not that much better than Toyota. As for the 2026 ES I wouldn’t expect too much. Unless Toyota changes its design priorities it will probably be a little better than the 2025 Camry, not way better. To Toyotas credit, reliability and efficiency are top notch.

      @@legalizebuckets594 ES has always been about comfort luxury refinement quality and mpg while GS had been the sporty one. In the end .its the es that survive SUV and German 5 series storm. Look at the pathetic sales of cars like G80 were those figures are horrible. Reality is if people really want a sporty luxury sports sedan then they will buy a German brand more than ever and not a Asian luxury brand.

      @@christianx2k From Toyota's own viewpoint, though, RWD wouldn't "simplify" the ES, it'd kill it. The ES lived while the GS died because its humble Camry/Avalon bones give it a price advantage of over $10,000. In the end, Americans weren't willing to pay that tax for superior handling.

    • @Mylifeislegendary982vd3-vI
      @Mylifeislegendary982vd3-vI Месяц назад +1

      1. Es doesn't need a V6 when the new hybrid I4 is extremely refined and has perfectly fine performance. If Lexus really wants to give more power than crown hybrid max engine can be used which has 340hp. Lexus and Toyota nowadays are all about hybrids and PHEV because thats what full Majority of people and the market wants. 2. current es interior is extremely luxurious and high quality while been modern. Overall a perfect balance of old and new school. It doesn't need Wood Trim whatsoever. If anyone See's the es interior cheap go then to a eye doctor. 3. Current es has excellent ride and refinement which is in some cases good as a LS .
