Lexus all day long. I'm the 2nd owner of 2002 ES300 with 185k miles. It has the same platform of the Camry. The amount of insulation/road silencing material is incredible. Plus my car has a strut brace and same non-folding back seat. In fact there is structural bracing behind the rear seat which makes it more solid. Whisper quiet, drives like new, especially with my new Michelin Defender 2 tires. As far as these 2 are concerned, for about 4K more the ES350 is worth it. The level of craftmanship, quality of materials is far superior than the Camry. The V6 is a proven a winner, super dependable. Cant go wrong with either, but for me im picking ES350.

You compared the top level Camry to a mid level ES. Equipment wise, an ES with the Ultra Luxury group would have been more apples to apples even though it cost more. Good information anyway. Thanks for putting it together.
Have to disagree here. When comparing cars most people are most likely comparing based on a price point they can afford. Apples to apples comparison would be a comparison of two cars of similar price, what do both offer for that price.
I can get a 2022 ES-350 Lux (under warranty) for less than a Camry XSE/XLE (especially with dealer add-ons) and apply the saving to gas costs. Also, the ES won't require a traction battery - ever (I keep my cars a looong time). My guess is that a 22 ES will be less to insure as well. I think the total ownership costs will be less with the ES for these reasons. I drove the Camry XSE and didn't like the stiffness/elevated noise levels due to the 19" wheels. I wish 18" (or even 17" were an option). The Camry was a bit more fun to drive, but the ES is ultra refined and luxurious. I'll probably buy a used ES for these reasons.

I bought a 2023 CPO Lexus ES350 with 7k miles because of the warranty 6 years unlimited miles bumper to bumper - the dealer experience - the V6 and the 8spd trans. My car has the premium package so has the big screen - folding mirrors - memory / heated / cooled seats - heated steering wheel - basically everything I need. IMO the luxury and ultra luxury are too expensive. I don't want a panoramic roof, nor heads up display. The Mark Levinson sound system I would like but not worth 10k price difference. The build quality is so solid I was actually shocked. Just close the doors or try to rock the car while sitting. That sold me! I will leave with this. @BrosFOURRSpeed Actual Lexus and Toyota are not the same company, Lexus is a luxury brand owned by Toyota. They operate completely independent of each other. They operate with different priorities and philosophies. You are going to get two different experiences between the cars, that is just the facts.
From what I reading, camry seems like better option in every way, besides if you must have better materials inside, some small differences in road noise besides that Camry better in every way. Cheaper, better technology, better platform for now (maybe es will be better in next generation)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Might be, but for example in my country the difference between highest trim Camry and highest trim ES is over 20k (Camry is 47k) ES is around 70k. While Camry has even better technology package, similar quality interior, sure es has some better materials and more of them, but it does not affect driving or comfort since both of them have leather even if it's nuLuxe (or w/e it's called), and better road noise and possibility for more speakers (mark levinson instead of jbl). I mean I understand the argument that es has something extra in some departments, but so does Camry, including updated power-train . I would even have doubts about buying es if they were the same price but in no world it's worth 20k difference, at that point if money is not an issue it might just be better to splurge on LS and get everything including a toaster (a little joke here). Of course it's my opinion, but I found weird how a lot of people in comments said, that they would all go for es, when I don't really see the reasoning. I am planning to upgrade to ES (probably), when the new generation hits in a year or two, I just hope that the quality can match the price that time. They might just made a mistake, by making the Camry this good this time around 😆
Toyota made a big mistake going away from the great 4 cylinder, naturally aspirated, 8-speed automatic that got 40+ on a steady 65-70mph highway drive. I believe it is best to stay away from the Camry’s only option of a “hybrid” with CVT unless you’re going to lease the vehicle and get rid of it after three years. The Lexus at least has the 8-speed automatic and a non-hybrid engine. The 2023 Camry was the last “great” by Toyota in my opinion.
I didn't choose the hybrid, but the "three years" comment is a silly take. Toyota warranties the hybrid battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles. And there are Prius cabs in NYC that have rolled up 300,000 trouble-free miles on the original battery. Yeah, it's unlikely to go 20 years without a battery swap, but it's an excellent bet to go 10, and reliability surveys say those miles will be low-cost and trouble-free.
I have a 2012 Camry hybrid that I have never gotten anything close to the EPA claimed mileage. It is just 80,000 mi on it and it's starting to need the new hybrid battery replaced at a cost of $5,000. I don't want another hybrid it's not worth the money.
@@tonysterbenc so after 8 years OWNER replaces the battery on an already depreciated car? Nobody would buy a car at that point knowing THEY would have to buy a $5K (probably $10K 8 years from now) battery. Not a silly take, but a realistic one.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed it actually doesn’t anymore. Toyota got rid of that option. It used to be an OPTION and Toyota got rid of it. Government controls cars now for political reasons, forcing car manufacturers to squeeze out every mpg possible to the extent of cheapening body frames and other materials used. It looks like Mazda and Kia still have the 4 cylinder, naturally aspirated, real geared (non CVT) automatics. Buy them now before they too are gone.

Hardly any sedans in the US market have that. Very few from Mercedes, maybe Audi, Bentley or Aston Martin. Vehicles on this price won’t have that ever.

True, but... The tester explains above that this base ES was all he could get his hands on. And, arguably, this makes for a more level price comparison, so it's a relevant comparison for some buyers.
Yeah, I mentioned that..this wasn’t a trim to trim comparison..when the dealer only has 1 ES and I only have the Camry for 5 days, I work with what I have..
Now we are comparing a mainstream Toyota vs a luxury marque Lexus? We realize don’t we that luxury marque buyer gets that brand for the cache don’t we?
The Lexus ES literally picks up where the Camry leaves. Lexus/Toyota are the same company. So it's cool to see how these cars do stack up since the ES is practically the luxury version of the Camry. Fun to see if it's worth spending more money on the Lexus touch or save it and just stick with the loaded Camry

Road noise? Compare next time
I talked about that in the full reviews. Not much of a difference to talk about.
Das sind zwei super Autos
Wer den Luxus eines Lexus
nicht braucht kann zum
Toyota greifen.Der Lexus
ist ein Traum an Ruhe und
Komfort.Eine Oase mit
Feinster Verarbeitung.
Eins,das wichtigste haben
beide Gemeinsam;
Das sind Autos die locker
15 Jahre und mehr fahren
ohne ihren Fahrer auch nur
einmal im Stich zu lassen.
Technische Probleme?
Es wird keine geben.
500000 Km?
Denken sie an eine Million.
Das ist noch Qualität die
man in dieser Form nur
von Autos bekommt aus
dem Hause Toyota/Lexus
Both good options!
Thanks for sharing, just depends on what the buyer wants.
Buy them now before they too are gone.
but you should be comparing the camry xse with the lexus es350 fsport pack not the regular. The camry is top of the line but the es in the video is base 350.
Nice! These are super cool for sure! Very well rounded!
I got a older lexus. 2018 is 300 v6 now but the new carmry is a nice car too .
Oh cool. New one is nice for sure!
I wish you compared the triple beam es350 vs this camry
What? The headlights? I don’t have access to film videos like this at night.
You will. 358k. How many more do you need? 358k & 1. Ok I'm in.
Let's do night reviews. 😅
@@Offensively-normal I just don’t have access to do that with dealership cars. I have to film during the day. Plus filming at night never comes across on camera well
The Crown is the Avalon replacement. And I’d take a base Crown over the loaded Camry.
Yeah basically. However the ES picks up where the Camry leaves off in price. So it's a good luxury version of the Camry
Both of them need a much better looking front end/grill real bad
Looks are subjective, but tons of people like the style.
@ Possibly. But I’m willing to bet the majority of people don’t like the front end design of the Camry in particular. Just sayin..😉
Does Camry XSE get memory seat buttons?
I can't remember. Maybe the XLE does
I have a 21 es 350 f sport black line edition with the v6. Im keeping it forever. You are comparing a base es with a fully loaded camry. The higher trim es have the larger display and lfa speedometer. Mine also had the bolstered seats and fully loaded.
Like I said, this is what I had to work with, only ES on the lot and I only had the Camry for 5 days.
Why do both of these cars in the video do not come with power rear seat controls on the center armrest?
Hardly any sedans in the US market have that. Very few from Mercedes, maybe Audi, Bentley or Aston Martin. Vehicles on this price won’t have that ever.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah on a Lexus only an LS has that kind of feature
Yeah thats a top level option. Not going to find that in a $60k Lexus lol
@@BrokenAdam770 because it's the usa
It's the same crap apart from few small things. You mainly paying for name brand. Both slow. Lexus is 240 whp and camry is 170-190 whp
No one buying these really cares about horsepower. I know I mentioned them.
But the average Camry buyer doesn’t even look at that.
@ I agree with you
Easy win. All new Camry. Topgun grannymobile #1 👍 👵
lol
LEXUS & TOYOTA ARE 1 IN 2 VERSIONS.
Pretty much!
Say how tall you are. Important
5'10'', if I didn't mention that here, I did in the full reviews, but pretty sure I did in the back seats..
Is this an apartment or a car? What good is a comparison without how they both drive?
What do cars have to do with an apartment?
But both were driven in this video..
Camry looks better
Looks are subjective, both have a nice look!
A little bit expensive, huh? 😂 Lexus is expensive mainly because of the badge. In Japan, they’re all just Toyota badges!
The ES picks up where the Camry leaves off in price. Not bad options
Toyotas exterior looks.....ugly from most angles. The only thing from camry i would take are the gauges and mavbe the improved hybrid system. Otherwise my es 300h is more than perfect
Glad that's what you'd enjoy!
Lexus ES Hybrid
Why?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Smooth and frugal - Let alone we can only buy the Hybrid version here in Europe 😘
@@planbparadise2046 “frugal”? The Lexus costs more.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Didn't know this was a "price" competition. I thought this was a question about which car you prefer? I prefer the Lexus ES 300h (sorry for that...)
@@planbparadise2046 what does “frugal” have to do with the comparison though?
Es350 needs a redesign. Something new
Yeah maybe next year we'll see
You'll get your wish for '26.
Without Avalon, you can choose Crown !
Yeah good choice too
Compare the ES Ultra Luxury 350 to the Camry XSE. Then you will see the difference. Two whole different cars. That Camry is top of the line, that Lexus is NOT.
Thank you for listening and understanding!
What school did ALL the car reviewers attend that teaches to repeatedly say "as well" at the end of every sentence even though it is never used correctly? How much is the tuition there? Where is it located? Just curious...
Can you time stamp where I said that? How is that not used correctly?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Glad you defended yourself. I'm tired of all these self-appointed priggish grammar police all over the Internet.
your video is waste of time you should explain differnce between the driving the quite the comfort !!!!! you just waste my ttime for real
Pretty sure I went over all that…
Hey, that TOYOTA has the exploding glass-roof. That sucks! If you notice, Lexus won't do that to their customers.
What are you talking about?
