I wanted to see what I would get on the ES300h that I wouldn’t get on the Camry, but you said “I’m not going to get into the luxury features because it’s expected”. 😮 But that’s the exact stuff I wanted to know about, to see if those features are worth it!! I would prefer you spend less time talking about the grill and lines on the hood, and more time talking about the “differences” in the two cars. What you get on one that you do NOT get in the other is the whole point.

I think the poster is just assuming we all know that a Lexus will be more luxurious than a Camry. But the top spec Camry that's pushing 40k will have most of the features of the es. Even then the es will still feel more premium. It all depends on what you're going for. If you want the better fuel economy get the Camry off you want a more premium feeling car get the Lexus.

The premium models of all cars with their parent company always have these things you mentioned with the more premium interior, exterior, that badge ofc. But I think one thing that isn't mentioned is the fact that the components under the hood and the car are much better. Especially the suspension parts and such, and they make a heck of a difference when you drive the car and how smooth and quiet it feels. It'll also feel more stable at a higher speed than a Camry.

  • @kinw5648

I love these comparisons. I have the 2025 Camry XSE and I love it but I'm going Lexus next time. However, all the money I've spent adding sound deadening and giving it a smoother ride I could have gotten the ES. I never understood all the reviews saying how quiet it is with the double laminated front windows. Driving around town is very quiet indeed. However, once I get up to freeway speeds, it's very noisy. Wind noise coming from the A pillar, road noise, noise coming in from the back when another car drives past me. I added window visors and that got rid of that annoying wind noise on the A pillar. I've added soundproof materials to all four doors and wheel wells, that helped quiet down the car quite a bit, especially on the freeway I no longer hear the cars rushing by. I also changed out the 19 inch wheels to 17 inch and quieter tires. The car is now very comfortable and quiet but still feels sporty. I love the Camry how it is now and planning on keeping it for a long time, but I'm definitely going Lexus for my next car.

  • @danielmorgan6432

The ES rear seat doesn't fold down because Lexus reinforced the body with a cross brace behind the rear seat. Added rigidity offers a quieter ride.

Bang for buck, I'd go 2025 Camry. The 5th gen hybrid it has is awesome! Unfortunately, the refreshed Lexus ES will still use the 4th gen hybrid. I'm telling you, 5th gen hybrid is so much better. More torque, quieter engine, and better fuel economy.

    • @Hate---Love
      @Hate---Love 5 months ago

I don't know why they trying to give us a crappy small-refresh instead of an actual refresh where the ES will also be using the 5th gen hybrid systen while also being all-wheel-drive just like the camry. Talk about a wasted opportunity, especially seeing how the ES is one of the their most sold sedans all over the world. What a shame

The ES will be quieter and smoother riding and also consumer reports said they felt vibration in the steering wheel and the engine can make quite a racket when crowding it to merge on a freeway or climb a hill. Either one is an outstanding car that will go the distance. You just have to see do you want value or pay more for a premium feel.

I’m not saying the Camry is bad, it’s an absolutely incredible car

I just test drove a 2025 Camry and a 2025 Lexus ES 300 hybrid yesterday. Truthfully, I could not fit in the backseat of the Camry. My head hit the roof. And the quietness of the Lexus while driving is light years ahead of the noise level of the Camry. I own a 2019 Camry hybrid and, truthfully, it is quieter than the 2025 Camry.

But if you like something a bit more luxurious and a bit better in most aspects, paying a bit more for the luxury Toyota isn't a bad idea. I own an ES300h and it's a keeper. No issues at 53k km driven, and very fuel efficient.

I went with the 2025 Camry, the top trim XSE. I wanted a Hybrid sedan with AWD which the 2025 ES doesn't offer, and I also thought the current ES design is looking a bit old now. The 2026 ES (announced late April 2025) addresses those concerns, but it's won't be available for several months. Plus, they made the 2026 ES much longer for some reason, almost as long as the Sienna.

Central New Jersey. Lexus and Toyota dealers are next door to each other but different dealerships owners. You can lease the Lexus any day for less than the Camry despite the Camry being about $10k less expensive. If you are leasing, go with the Lexus. If you are buying, a Camry is the better deal. Some complaints about that 5th generation hybrid system and dead batteries. Might be a safer choice to stay with the 4th gen in the Lexus. 2026 ES should get upgraded. The Lexus enthusiast web sites are already showing pictures of it.

Last gen was so much more sophisticated and sporty looking. You can't tell they look ugly in this video because of the black paint, it looks horrendous in other colors IMO.
The one big negative for the Lexus is the big spindle grille in front, which in my opinion looks better than the camry fish mouth at least. Besides that, the sleek and premium looks make it one of the nicer looking sedans on the road

It also depends on where and to whom you're going. In certain situations arriving in a Camry might not be appropriate, ;) which is why the ES is definitely a more versatile car for everyday use. Both for shopping and business meetings.

The black color cars do not show well in this video. Remake it with white cars.

Lexus used the IS's tail lights and put them on their other vehicles. I don't like those tail lights. Give the ES it's own identity.

You get a Camry you’re gonna need to replace the awful JBL system.

Ask a Lexus salesman whether the Camry SE (rather than an XSE) is equivalent to the Lexus. Predictable response. Lol. An XSE is still not going to be equivalent to the 300H, but it might be a better value.

Bad noise both with window down, don't make it a habit people banging car doors with windows open, that's how you ruin your glass up/down bits and pieces

My God, take the presenter to a tailor. Please tell this person a coat two sizes too small is horrid. Spread collars should ONLY be worn with double-breasted suits. How can he be taken seriously. "I'm not going to lie to you." Of course you will, you are a car salesman.
