I am so happy to see that you allowed anyone with any build to come. I took a Bronco to a Jeep group just to experience and hang out. They treated me so poorly that I left and never went on the drive. I haven’t gone to a posted get together since. I even got ride of the Bronco for the small Bronco sport because only driving on roads and didn’t need the geared up Bronco. This is something I really want to get into but I haven’t found a community that accepts everyone. I will try again in a few years but bless you your family and group.
Kind of surprised I’ve wheeled with a lot of Dif groups bronco jeep Toy never had a problem hope you find a good group don’t give up most fun I’ve had was taking my wrangler out with XJ group those guys are crazy great drivers and can fix anything
@@tophercaesar5375 As a JKU owner, I got the same treatment at a Toyota meetup, so I know how you feel. Unfortunately, there are going to be bad groups out there in each car brand. It is pretty annoying. Hope you do find a cool group to roll with.
I always love seeing a variety of off road vehicles congregating for the sake of being outdoors. I like Jeeps myself but everyone has something that's good for themselves.
Agree, I'm a Jeep guy too (here in India I have a diesel JK) but I also appreciate Toyotas and Fords. I just hope the 4x4 community does not have brand wars.
I honestly watched this video to see how the Bronco performed. Very interesting to see the alternator placement in a vehicle that's touted as being designed for off-road use.
To be fair the max water line for the Bronco is roughly in line with the top of the bumper. When he hit that mud hole he was significantly deeper than that water line. Sucks none-the-less but I put this on driver error. Perhaps a little slower entry might not have yielded a failed alternator.
@@MattButlerAL this actually lead me to a question (or two!!) other than sealing up the engine bay and given the "newness" of the Bronco, is there a way to relocate the alternator and/or protect it from water-related failure? Second question: in your opinion, does the Bronco provide anything superior to a similarly appointed Jeep or Toyota?
@@ericwright3646 I don't have any experience with a Toyota so I can't point to anything specific other than maybe certain angles and measurements. The Bronco does have some specific off-road tools that are unique. I.e. a front diff that can be locked independently of the rear, disconnecting sway bar under load, etc. As for Jeep in comparison to pure off road prowess a similarly equipped jeep will likely perform better mainly due to the extra flex you get with solid axles. But you pay for that with higher speed off road driving and on-road manners. For clarity I owned a 2001 Wrangler and currently own a Bronco Badlands the Sasquatch package.

Noticed your 1 John 4:10 tat in another video. Cool to see y’all praying before going out in this one. I’m not an “overlander”, I adventure new and wild places through hunting and fishing mostly. It’s cool to see a different way of how y’all get out, and that you truly enjoy it. The wife and I would love to tag along with you in my trail boss someday!
I loved this video. I would enjoy camping in the Ozarks. But honestly cannot afford to do the technical trails. I went through my days of off road vehicle maintenance years ago. I spent the weekend in water and mud, and the week doing maintenance on my Blazer I had at the time. But this is fun to watch now. When my budget allows, I want to become a patron to OOA and hopefully Matt can put me on some easy scenic stuff. 😊
Yep, big issue. My brother’s bronco kicked the bucket due to water getting near the alternator. However the water was well below the fording depth that’s advertised by ford. Luckily the warranty covered the issue and we haven’t run into the same issue yet.
@@hotrod7603 they already did it on the ranger, why the heck did they not think of this for the bronco? All vehicle alternators should be at the top ESPECIALLY OFF-ROAD VEHICLES.
Did the 4Runner even attempt that mud hole? I have a Bronco V6 with a 3" lift on 37s, but I'm not fond of extremely deep mud. My rule of thumb, if it goes over the hood, then bypass it, LOL. Guess I'll be keeping an eye open for a better aftermarket alternator that is water resistent..
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures we didn’t take my 4 runner down that trail … John and I both drove my Jeep at different times, but I don’t think I would have had trouble in the hole if I stayed in the center. After all a Jeep on 35’s got through and the ifs does better in deep ruts than the solid front axle.the only reason the 4 runner had an issue before was because I tipped sideways trying to avoid the limb. If I had stayed straight, I would have been fine.
I had a 17 JKU and I wanted/needed a truck I traded it for a Tacoma, the next year the Gladiator came out. I was still upside on my loan, when I was in the green prices shot up to 60k+ for a JT. I like my taco but I want to be in the jeep platform again. They wheel so much better off road. So soon as I can afford one im trading up! :)
Praying before y’all lead out !!! What !? 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 that is so awesome and so stand up in the world today ! This is exactly why I love following this channel ! On 1-23-2017 I gave my life to Jesus and I am not ashamed and so did my wife Sara ! A year later my wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and it’s been devastating to her. After that it’s payed heavy on me and one thing I found was she liked camping and so did I. I liked four wheeling as well. So I found this little place called red river gorge in Kentucky. We made one trip down for a weekend and I watched her face flood with joy. After that I started outfitting my 2019 Chevy trail boss with a topper and a roof top tent and some 35’s. The kids and her absolutely enjoyed it. Then I found another channel called Coddiwomple overland. I binge watched Bill and Debs videos of everywhere they went and got ideas of places to go. At some friends of ours reveal at wildcat off-road park I met Bill and Deb for the first time and enjoyed their friendship so much. Then I went and took my wife to a fall back the byway clean up ride for the DBBB. There I met up with Bill, Deb and Kelly ( power wagon Kelly ) and we got to join their group for the ride. Since then we’ve all became great friends. Now I’m in the process of starting to outfit our 2022 gladiator. Because this is something we definitely intend to want to keep doing more of for a long time. I’ve recently ran into little issue with death wobble and trying to track it down. With just over 11k miles it’s confusing me but I’m sure I’ll track it down. I love the gladiator and it’s drove like a Cadillac until now. The friends we’ve made and the places we’ve seen away from all the tourists has helped her in so many ways. And all the while I’ve tried to use it as part of a ministry as well. But the most therapeutic part of it all is how it has helped my wife. God has sustained her MS and is still letting her enjoy life. I don’t know for how long but I’m making the best of it we possibly can. God bless you and please don’t ever stop giving him the glory and thanks he deserves. It will always get a like from me.
I'm always been a fan of s 4 runner, but haven't really see much in technical trails, but got a chance to see it in action more often on this channel and begining to like even more. It's a bit hard on gas and has bad mileage but the V6 with 5 gear in it is a proven engine. But I, heard the next gen 4 runners gonna change engine into hybrid with 4 cylinders, 275 hp and 317 lbs-ft of torque. I'm not a big fan of hybrid, cause it's heavier, not very prectical with charging ( it took several hours) but you can used it all up within an hour. Jeep Hybrid got so many issues. Seen lots of complain in RUclips. The recon-edition with extreme package was a game changer for the Jeep. Those who missed out are the unfortunate one's in ny humble opinion. For off roading I'm not a fan of hybrid, I prefer diesel instead of petrol (gas). That's my humble opinion. Americans you love gas more than diesel for off roading, touring, overlanding, but the rest of the world prefer diesel. Some pros of diesel is they're cheaper, diesel engine got more torque or easier to get more torque of it by doing a little modifications here and there, easier to carry, more ideal even for very hot weather or climate conditions.
Diesel has it's advantages for sure but it's a lot more expensive here in the US. I agree about the Xreme Recon package on the Wranglers. We love ours!
@@harrywalker968 IFS is pretty good for long distance touring, dirt roads with moderate challenges, it is good for towing. Solid axel is good, but IFS has it's uses in the overlanding world as well. Just got to be bit careful on your trail selection. You can have a bad day out in the trail even in upgraded solid axels 4x4s..
Man i sure wish i could join you folks sometime. But currently i own a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade. She needs a lot of work. But living on disability doesn't give me much money to fix her up the way i would like. Staying Safe Everybody.

The comments are pretty good on this video but on some of others and other offroading videos the commenters that have never been offroading, never will and don't even own a 4x4 mysteriously know exactly what you doing wrong and how to do it right and which vehicle they've never owned or driven is the best.
I don't know if this helps, but I think the 4runners were a trd off roads, and the tacoma looked like an sr5 version. The 4runners look heavily modded the tacoma has add ons.

The power shut down due to the alternator placed low in 2.7 not in 2.3 otherwise there would be no problem . Yes there is only one jeep and that was made by ford the gp the real one

I think it more on the alternator than the placement.
Not the first time I’ve seen a bronco die on a steep incline. The other one I saw was low on fuel and sucked air into the fuel line.

The 4Runners did not. If you watched my High Water Mark movie from a couple months ago that’s the same mud hole that killed the 4Runner in that video.

That's why I got a 3rd gen 4Runner. Can buy a LOT of gas with the $50k or so I saved by not buying a 5th Gen.

The comments are pretty good on this video but on some of others and other offroading videos the commenters that have never been offroading, never will and don't even own a 4x4 mysteriously know exactly what you doing wrong and how to do it right and which vehicle they've never owned or driven is the best.

I don't know if this helps, but I think the 4runners were a trd off roads, and the tacoma looked like an sr5 version. The 4runners look heavily modded the tacoma has add ons.

My hardshell RTT is so fast to set up and so comfortable to sleep in that I find myself not using my hammock any more.

I am sure most of your patreon supporters would love to go on one of these runs but some of them will never have a chance.

The power shut down due to the alternator placed low in 2.7 not in 2.3 otherwise there would be no problem . Yes there is only one jeep and that was made by ford the gp the real one
