LONG BORING MESSAGE YOU CAN READ IF YOU'RE BORED:
Hey guys - hope you're all staying safe and healthy as always. Just wanted to preface that, when I say 'don't buy these' in the title, that you're more than welcome to disagree with me (let me know why in the comments) and still buy them! I guess the literal translation of 'don't buy these' would be: I can't recommend these and you can get better value for money elsewhere - but that would be a terribly long title, wouldn't it? 😅 If you think I'm wrong, then I want to hear it in the comments! Plus, it'll probably help others considering buying these to form a fully-informed opinion from those who own these already which is always good.
I really want to keep it 100% real on this channel so if I really dislike something, I'll always share my no-filter opinion (and what it's based on) as much as I can. There's not enough scathing reviews out there on RUclips for my liking. Being transparent, I'd have more to gain by saying that everything I review is great and that you should go buy it (then I'd have better brand relationships and probably more affiliate money etc). But to be honest, I couldn't give a crap about all that stuff. I just really enjoy (hopefully) helping you guys find products that are worth your hard-earned money. Disclaimer over.
What should I review next? Believe it or not, I am not an encyclopaedia of all true wireless earbuds, so I do rely on you guys to make requests. This channel is as much about you guys as it is about me, so hit me with those requests! I'm also working out a set up where I can accurately record earbuds and headphones so I can throw audio samples into the videos for comparison. Let me know if you guys think that sounds good?
Oh and please follow me on Instagram if you haven't already (instagram.com/mrkwd). If there's anything I can do to help you guys during this very weird and turbulent period of 2020, just let me know. Cheers for watching and sticking with me guys.

      I really like your videos.
There are some solid true wireless earbuds that are considered good sounding that I could not find on your channel.
      For example
Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 which also have great battery life according to specs.
Or what abot the Sony’s wf-1000xm3?
Also Whizzer TP1S look very interesting.
It would be really great if you could put the list of the earbuds you have reviewed on a website. Best to worst and with the points for all the categories you evaluate. There would be no more questions about which one is better :)
      Take care!

In my opinion, all the scores were fair except the 7/10 for sound quality. Even though it wasn't improved much, even though it's in a higher price bracket than the average earbuds, and even though we're in 2020 and the expectations are higher now, the sound quality is still better than most if not all true wireless earbuds out there. I would give it a 9/10 or an 8.5/10 at the very least. Great video regardless 👍

You are right, these literally have the best sound quality out of all wireless earbuds, although there are some little things that could be better to compare it to the apple air pods pro. There is no doubt if you want the best audio the sennheiser momentum zero 2 is a 10/10 (in reference to wireless earbuds). Would wireless charging be nice, yes but it is not a deal breaker in any way.

I have both generations (the second generation I got for free). I personally prefer the 1st generation because I like the way it sounds when I’m listening to the genres of music I like. I also like how loud my momentum 1 can go over my momentum 2. The second gen is a lot more comfortable for my ears though. I don’t use these earbuds for making calls, so the mic quality is of little concern to me. The EQ page of the app is still subpar. I don’t know why they have yet to include wireless charging. It’s stubbornness at this point. The upgraded battery life is still nothing to be revered.

I tried these for nearly a month and I could just not work out what all the fuss was about. The sound is ok to good, I prefer the sound of the Sony’s with the larger sound stage and warmer feel but sound is subjective. I spent hours trying to convince myself I must have badly fitting ear tips despite trying many as the ANC was almost impossible to detect, unless you had no music playing and you can hear a slight click. They are boxed up ready to be returned to Amazon. I am really genuinely pleased that some people love the sound of these so much, it’s great to find a pair of buds or headphones you really enjoy, I wish I did

Sennheiser is known for having a neutral soundstage, closer to the original mix that was intended, unlike Sony. A lot of people prefer over-emphasized bass and view something with greater sonic accuracy as boring. I myself am an audio engineer, and far prefer sennheiser stuff in general, but I understand the allure of that big, in your face bass. Not judging, it sounds fun, just yeah.

@@-_-Raziel I agree. I bought the B&W PI7’s last year from the official website for £350, well before the first reviews went up on RUclips. I was absolutely astonished to how terrible they sounded: dark sound signature, muddy boomy bass and vocals that lacked sharp acid details. I was so looking forward to getting them and wearing them to commute to work by train. And they got so many high praises from reviewers, which made me realise that certain people will become a brand fanboy to anything expensive/luxurious. I sent these back the next day and glad I got my £350 back quick! Each to their own but if I’m paying £350 for earbuds, they need to give me goosebumps. The only goosebumps I got was how fast I received my money back in record time lol

If you're comparing them to other true wireless earbuds under $200, and they are the best sounding by far, shouldn't it receive 10/10 in the sound department? 7/10 seems misleading - obviously, there are better sounding headphones, but they aren't in the same class. IMO, the rating scale should be applied with respect to classification and without consideration of all headphones.

I had both and tested, sound quality of MTW1 is significantly better than MTW2. The sound of MTW2 is intense and sharp comparing with the MTW1. The bounce of MTW1 is so good but the MTW2 loss it all. I am very disappointed for the downgraded of sound quality of MTW2. The score of comfortableness of MTW1 to my ear is 95 vs MTW2 is only 75. I tried two hours keep listening MTW2 for two hours try to let my ear accept the newer model is good, but when I put back MTW1, I totally gave up. Last, the noise cancellation is just piece of shit. It doesn’t make much difference to block the noise but make the sound mumbling and a lot worse. Also, the heavy pressure to kill your ear.

When it comes to the Sony WF-1000XM3. I had numerous problems with cut outs and music jumps etc with them. The fit was terrible with them always felt like they was gonna fall out when moving and being so uncomfortable in the ears. The Sony's was abit low in volume to me at full volume but had great battery.
The WF-1000XM3 never sounded good to me when compared to the Sennheise Momentum True Wireless 1st gen. The Sennheise MTW sounded the best out of the lot and others on the market.
But the battery on the MTW was terrible with the battery draining issues from the case. So would I go back to the 1st gen after having the newer version MTW2? No I wouldn't because of the battery problems with them. I would only recommend them with a massive price drop well under the Amazon UK £150 pounds. With the battery issues still in mind when purchasing. Plus keeping in mind no firmware update can fix the battery issues with the MTW.
So are the MTW2 a upgrade?.. of course don't have the battery draining issues, have ANC and the buds are little smaller to. Plus alot better battery. If I remember correctly the MTW may or sounded louder at full volume apart from that to me they sound the same from what I remember with the MTW.
What more could they have done? Wireless charging maybe.. and a smaller case for them.
not the best comparison in my opinion in this video.
If this reviewer is happy with less than 4 hours from the original MTW. After a day or so the battery will be dead from the case and the earbuds. Then saying the MTW2 is not enough of a upgrade 🙄. Feel free to check out other reviewers videos on the MTW2.
Both MTW in a different league in sound quality to the Sony's WF-1000XM3 imo.
Don't know why people are asking for him to do reviews on other earbuds when its clear he loves the Sony's what I believe don't sound the best compared to the Sennheise Momentum's.

I also have to disagree with this review. Sound wise for a BT earbud, they are amazing and I also have a B&O which were more costly and wireless charging. Features are not a do all and end all for me. If comfort and sound quality (BT connection/in ear) is what you are looking for I hands down say get the momentum true wireless 2.

Great and honest review. I had these earbuds for about 2 weeks. And then I sold them with no regret (unlike the first revision, which I had used for more than 6 months). Every point of this review matches my own thoughts. Overall this is a very tiny improvement over the original model. ANC is meh. At first, I thought that it was ok for this form factor. And then I heard Sony's WF-1000... Oh, man. Second, the sound quality is identical to the first revision at best. I'd even say that they sound worse. Yes, Sennheiser has doubled the battery life here. And that's pretty much it. For reasons unknown, all of their earbuds cost at least twice the real price. $200 for 400 bt with no ANC, no transparency mode, no auto-pause is a joke. Yes, this is Sennheiser, I understand. But still. (Most of) their headphones cost every penny. I have Momentum M3s, they're gorgeous, and 58x. But their wireless earbuds are waaay overpriced.

I just got these for $220 and I’m still returning them. I thought it would be a given that they could connect to multiple devices and would have wireless charging. With the Bose now on sale for the same price I’m going to give those a try. My priorities are ANC and sound quality and from what I’ve heard that’s where the Bose excels (and I’m assuming they can connect to multiple devices).

  • @budfox3097

Based on your review I feel that those are really overpriced. 300 USD should offer you the best of the best given the competition in 2020 which those obviously are not.
By the way, do they really sound better than Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro if you DO NOT take into consideration that they hiss?

The momentum 2 is undoubtedly the best when it comes to sound quality from wireless earbuds like these. If you are willing to sacrifice other luxuries for that, get the momentum 2. If you don't really care as much and just want something good, save your money and get the original ones or the apple airpods pro. On a scale I would rate the audio for the momentum to a 10/10, the momentum original a 8.5/10 and the apple airpods pro a 8/10. So pick what you want just know you are not going to be getting the same luxuries as others for the sake of sound quality, if you already have a good anc earbud, don't upgrade until sennheiser releases something better.

You shouldn't call yourself a tech guy if you don't understand the basic engineering concepts of many things, such as that wireless charging would require even more space to be added to the case, which is already quite large due to the large battery life, which is one of the longest for such a high quality sound. I'm not saying they are perfect, but I am saying that you shouldn't call yourself a tech guy if you don't know these basic concepts, and before doing reviews in the future you should do some overall research on the technology going into the devices you are reviewing before you upload "scathing" reviews on a pretty greatly designed product. (Not trying to really defend the Sennheiser Momentum 2 as a fanboy, I currently don't even own them, but you don't need to own something to understand the concepts and basics of the engineering effort that has gone into these kinds of devices).

BIG TIP: If you have these, I recommend using the largest set of adapters (the bit you stick on the end that pokes towards ur ear canal, whatever they're called). This opened up the sound stage and let the bass breath by a significant amount. I don't have mahoosive ears or anything... so give it a go and see if it does the same for you.

To me these are hot garbage! Even at 199 at best buy. I bought these and installed the app, turned off pre eq from Android so everything was flat. They sound muddier than a Louisiana bayou. The app couldn't even modestly correct it. What the heck is bass, mid, and treble on the eq? Don't get me started on that XYZ plot chart. Returned them within 3 hours of purchase. FYI I've been on my Sony WF sp800s and to me they blow these away both in battery life and EQ. I wanted to fall in love with the JBL tour pros but the design murdered my cartridge after an hour or so. I will say the sound signature on these is not for me. I like bumped lows, slightly elevated mids and bumped highs. Oh well the hunt continues...

I don't own any pair of this model or the original one, but I understand why reviewers tend to be critical (including Linus from Linus Tech Tips) because of the price which is in fact quite high. If this were Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus, people wouldn't be "harsh" for justification of the money you pay to get it. This is the same reason why Cambridge Melomania 1 receives universal acclaim for its price to value ratio. The sound quality is fantastic with long battery life while the microphone quality is also pure garbage & it has poor multi-device Bluetooth connection.

Of course, I totally agree. If I reviewed these, ignoring price, it would be a huge positive review because, well... they're great! I just hate that feeling when you buy something and find out you could have bought better for less money, if that makes sense!
