Apple Airpods Pro is probably the reigning champs for wireless earbuds, but Sennheiser has continually nipped at their heels year over year. Now, their True Wireless 3 is amazingly customizable and priced as low as the AirPods pro.

Maybe it's just me, but the color grading looks different in this video. Less vibrant, more true to life. Looks good!
Thanks! We've been working on it here and there.
Slowly making pseudo hdr on the side channels so they know what will slip by compression better on the main :p
@@ShortCircuit yeah the skin tones look way better. Nice work
@@ShortCircuit new Sony cams making an appearance?
More natural but a bit dark for me
Minor comment, regarding the screen about connections where you said "This screen has no reason to exist", thats to choose which device to connect to. It can only CONNECT to one at a time, but it can remember multiple (my MTW2 can remember 3 iirc), so I use that screen to move my pair between my Switch, Ipad, and Phone.
Exactly :) Thank you
The momentum 3 also has that the software just wasn't ready on launch. I believe they have it now though.
Not only that, but he totally misunderstood the Wind feature. It's to block wind out of our earbuds, not out of your mic...
Lmao, Sennheiser have been making class-leading headphones for longer than Apple has existed.
He is an Apple fan boy 👦
Hilarious but unfortunately there is nothing left in their earbuds that was in their legendary headphones.
@@avinashnegi4u na Sennheiser has made good shit however the momentum 3 is tuned not as well as the airpods pro.
Hahaha Congrats you just compared Eygpt to USA.
@Fisher Man where they the HD450s? Great pair of cans.
To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.
Sound is “good enough”? What earphones sounds really good in your opinion? I have the TW2’s and they sound better than any other Bluetooth earphone I’ve ever used. Assessing the audio quality should’ve been like 50% of this video, not 5 seconds of “it’s ok”.
Sometimes I thought about this too, but then I also keep forgetting that this is an unboxing, not a review.
Literally.
@Taistelu_pelto Really? I think you’re wrong. Sennheiser sound the best in this price bracket until you get up to Bowers and Wilkins PI7 or something similar.
@@The.JZA. in terms of iems, sennheiser is "ok" their tuning is weird, it's been getting better but sennheisers frame is from their headphones not iems, they have a weird recession in the highs that end up making vocals and some instruments loose clarity and force. if you want you can install wavelet and use their auto eq for the momentum 2 and that'll give you a much "better" sound which is entirely subjective, but at least a more audiophile experience. If you want to hear good iems, then buy a pair of moondrop aria which are 80 if you can't go that high then the moondrop chu are only 20 but are extremely well tuned for their price
@@hdoan1519 Bro iem's and Bluetooth earbuds are not synonymous lmfao wth are you talking about? I have Tin Hi-Fi 2's and 3's right in front of me that'll shit on anything on this list in sound quality. Nobody came to this video looking for iem"s goofy.
I own both pairs. Just got my TW3s in today. Sound quality is much better, bass more intense and blue tooth connectivity is 10x better. The TW2s had poor Bluetooth. (At least mine did) sennheiser killed these new ones. 10/10
So far i had only bad experience with sennheizer. Had the mommentum 2's for 2 years and then it ended. Ive been keeping them safe, using them safely, and they started having horrible connectivity problems. One earbud shutdown until i replaced it, then the other one started turning on ("power on, power on, power on") on loop and this is the moment where i said, im done with this 350$ crap.
Not really exited for the 3's, it means paying more 350$ to maybe get those tbrown away after 1-2 years as well. Bad decision mate.
I rather buying jbl earbuds with way wider eq settings, longer battery life and better durability
@@shoerice5083 Yeah i owned the MTW3 for 3 months. The sound, especially the lower end is really good, but everything else sucks. Connectivity issues, not charging, the earbuds not wanting to output audio for like 5 minutes after waking up, the little nozzle filters coming off if you try to use tighter tips, and then the right earbud just broke completely out of nowhere and started flickering, so i returned them.
@@shoerice5083 If you can live with using over ears the Momentum 3 Wireless (without the "True") might be for you. I am aware that they have been replaced by the 4s, but they are relatively cheap now (Sennheiser still sells them new), foldable, sound great (you can use them with Bluetooth, with the 3.5mm audio cable and even via USB-C audio, which is awesome for quality) and the material choices are much nicer. They're made of metal and the ear pads and headband are made with real leather. (Only the casing of the earcups is plastic) For the time I had them they worked great. No connectivity or charging issues. As a student you can get them for as low as 224€ now, directly from Sennheiser.
Seems like their in ears are generally not the way to go. My CX True Wireless (which I had before) also broke after 3 months.
@@helgeschneider4417 i can't... im so used to tws buds now, i like the fact that they are way more compact and less noticeable and convenient
Mine were not charging anymore after have been left in the drawer for over a week, so i sent them back and will wait for MTW4...Too bad they were almost perfect (except the case a little too big for my taste)
For the seperate volume controls this is a setting within android you can change.
How?
Never judge an earbud by its packaging.
Bwuetoof dewise is redy to pear
I think the separate volume control is a new android feature. I have the option to toggle it on and off on my Huawei with my Lenovo LP40 pro.
I don't have it before on the same phone, but after an update, all other BT audio devices now have separate volume controls
Really? If anything, I thought it was an old Android feature that got removed with Android 10 iirc. I really hated the update, too, since it meant my Bluetooth speaker became pretty crap after I updated my phone.
EDIT: It's a toggleable function now hidden in the developer settings. I'm finally happy again and no longer hate Android 10.
That doesn’t sound like a feature, more like a fault. A hella annoying one at that! Two volume controls on a set of headphones that connect to one device, WHY!
@@psibug565 1. This allows for Bluetooth headphones to be put on a lower volume, thus increasing battery life.
2. This allows for the phone to always be the same volume for every wireless audio device you connect to.
3. It's a toggleable feature in the developer options on Android. It's default to single volume control for both, but can be enabled to allow for two separate volume controls. Now stop complaining since we both can have our ways and be happy.
@@psibug565 The point is so you can get the right volume level as it introduces more volume steps. Many phones have few volume steps so people tend to just bump up the volume and in doing so, they damage their own hearing permanently.
I would have liked some critique...any at all...about the product other than a 13 minute description of its features.
Sennheiser recently enabled multipoint pairing in an app and headphone update as well as tweaked the Noise cancelling.
The issue with DSP on TWS products is that DSP is kinda limited based on the drivers power capabilities in it's FR. The onboard amps on the products are already not very good so you are at a hardware limitation. You have to find some really sensitive drivers that don't distort to get EQ to work effectively. Imo apple's managed to get it to work but they had to pour tons of money into driver development to get the DSP to not suck.
The controlls are exactly like the cheaper ones, the CX plus wireless, wich also has anc and trancparency mode. The sound quality is also very similar.
As an extremely happy MTW2 daily user, I'm even happier to say that the new MTW3 buds are noticeably better sounding, better fitting, nicer looking, and have very nice noise canceling. The ui control options and layout is better too. The fit inside the ear is more comfortable for me thanks to the new silicone fitting that hugs the outer part of the ear hole entrance. I thought the spec differences weren't going to be anywhere as noticeable as they are but these sounds quite a bit better to me. I also love the bass boost option for much of the music I listen to. They really did it right on these as I love intense punchy bass without muddling up the mids and highs and my God, these are perfect imho. I've owned every high end bud I can find so far and nothing has stood up to the MTW2's until now. If you already own the 2's and want to know of its worth the upgrade, I say it absolutely is! The sound quality is amazing, the punchy bass option is unbeatable for bass you can both feel and hear, and the noise canceling is so impressive. I have large tractor and zero turn mower with a large and loud engine right behind my head and I cannot even hear it with the MTW3's in. It's shocking actually. Couldn't be happier with these. Sennheiser killed it. Now I can't wait for whatever they do with the next gen in a few years.

@@santhoshkumarr1577 too much bass is so bad. You need to enjoy the music like the producer makes it. I like the linearity of the Sennheisers. It sounds really flat and that is good.
For me the MTW2 fit way better, at least with the tips Sennheiser included in the Box. Now, I know I have big ears, but Anker manages to include tips that fit my ears in their 50€ headphones, why Sennheiser can't manage in their 250€ headphones is a mystery to me and left me a bit miffed. The included wings are also an absolute joke and are like a centimeter away from gripping onto anything. Again, Anker managed to include actually functional ones in their product that is 200€ cheaper.
The MTW3 do sound better than the MTW2, once you find thrid party ear tips that actually achive a good seal, but they still aren't as good as the MTW1 (which were sadly not really usable, due to battery issues).
The bass boost makes the music sound like a muddy mess.
@@HermanWillems a flat sound is not good at all. I doubt some music genres (like r&b club music for example) intended to be anywhere near flat sounding.
@@deyh5664 well if the person who made the music added bass to it you will hear it. With flat i mean linear. The sound is like how the producer intended it to be. Not to extra boost it.
The ANC work on low frequency continuous sounds. The drone of an engine on a bus, train, or if you're walking around next to city traffic. Also, wind. It does zero for a room of people talking. But I assume that's a safety feature. If you don't like that, choose Sony or Bose.
Just ordered these and fingers crossed, I'll put my experience with here. Bdw i had ordered XM4s and just didn't get the vibe to open the box because they didn't looked best for gym use as well due to bit bulky outlook. Hopefully I'll enjoy these 🤞🏽
Some things to note, where this review kinda threw me for a loop, when deciding to purchase these headphones.
1. This does not have Multipoint loaded into the firmware currently, BUT Sennheiser has stated they intend to add Multipoint in the future through a FW update (that's great news)
2. The seperate volume controls isnt a Sennheiser thing. Its a Android thing. You can toggle the settings on your phone in android and not have separate volume controls.
One thing I am interested to find out is how the Noise Cancellation stands up. Some reviewers are stating the noise cancellation is top tier, rivaling sonys, some say even better. This was the only reviewer that stated the noise cancellation wasn't noticeable. I suspect he didn't fit the tips to his ears to form a seal, which would effect noise cancellation. I don't know if these will be the best headphones. But as far as I can tell, they are the only headphones that have wireless charging, single earbud use, USB C, fully customizable touch controls, and then promise to add multipoint support (all of which are a deal breaker for me if they arent a feature). Jabra's are the only one that comes close, but they don't do single earbud use lol. Its almost like these manufacturers work together to provide ALL but 1 essential feature, and Sennheiser might actually break that mold.
Snapping next to your ear while having noise cancelling on. Isn’t an accurate test. I have the new Bose active noise canceling headphones. I did the same thing. Had the same result.
I have them since Tuesday and I think the ANC is really good. Also the anti wind mode works great.
Well funny I have mine paired to my iPhone and it does the same thing so it must be a setting within the phone and or app...
I've used mine commuting and I get pops, crackles and pauses when I transit different noise environments, where the ANC is "adapting".
At present I find it's better to switch it off as the seal is good enough in the ear bud unless going through roadworks or on a plane.
This might be a bug and need a firmware fix.
EDIT: New Firmware 2.6.8 has fixed this.
The new Jabra elite 7's actually do single ear bud use...
I had the first iteration of this product and I loved the sound quality, way ahead of anything else. However, BERWARE the case hinge sucks; within a year it broke down. There are plenty of users who have had the same issue, they need to make it metal.
Maybe they fixed that with the MW2s? I take mine on and off at least 4x a day and the hinge is still going strong for me. Box LOOKS the same but...
@@gospelofrye6881 Nah. Hinge cracked on my TW2
@@gospelofrye6881 Apparently they "reinforced" the hinge in the second one, but I think I would still go for something like the master & dynamics.
@@kl6336 Why is my unbroken hinge worth less than your broken one? I've had them for two years, the hinge isn't broken, I use it hard. Whaddaya gonna do?
My hinge broke after a year and a bit and they replaced my pair with a free upgrade to the 2's in less than 2 weeks no questions asked, at least the customer service is EXCELLENT
James' voice is so great for videos with intermezzos. Such tone control. Respect!
I like Sennheiser products and would prefer them over others if the price wasn't so high. Because of that, I got the Buds Pro for music and ANC and they have become my go to earbuds. For mostly calling use where arguable better mic quality and vocal clarity is required, I still prefer the Jabra elite 2 and use them for calling when I have them. I really hate headphones whose volume is bound to the phone's master volume. Most of the time, I like my phone's volume maxed and headphone volume set much lower.
the anti wind is for the anc and not calls. some anc devices cant handle wind hitting there mic and will create sióme wiered noises
My True Wireless momentums just broke, I been hoping these came out soon. I also like Linus sleep with earbuds in, that is what I'd like to know about most. These look bigger than the originals, which scares me.
They look like they don't stick out as much, which was a big issue with the old ones.
I almost wish we had a review channel that was just "how good are these TW buds for sleeping?", because it's my #1 determinator and it almost never gets mentioned.
@@cpMetis Dankpods has talked about earbuds for sleep
I switched to the Sony ones and slept with those for half a year. No complaints on comfort from me. Haven't touch my momentums since the sony ones came out last year or whenever that was
@@VeryUnemployed Ohh see I did the same exact thing, and I need new ones because the Sony once cause me a lot of pain, I woke up with blood in my ear one day from I guess pressure causing a small cut.
That is another issue with rating earbuds for sleep. Everyone really is immensely different there.
I found I can wear the sony's if I put my hand under my head a specific way.
@@deathab0ve oh dang! I guess the next step is trying the bose sleep buds
Regarding earbud reviews or unboxings, an important feature that I think should be mentioned is if they can be used mono/one at a time. To get the most out of buds and still hear what's going on around me well enough, I use one at a time throughout my work day and swap as the battery gets low.
The first gen Momentum True Wireless buds were unable to do this well. The right bud is the primary device so it controls the bluetooth connection to the phone and to the left earbud and could be used by itself. The left could not be used by itself since it is considered the secondary earbud and receives signals from the right bud.
I recently purchased the Creative Outlier Pro TWS and think they're fantastic. They have ANC and ambient mode as well as a better battery life. Please consider getting a pair so you can compare them against the Sennheiser
Yeah they're not gonna do that.
Concha means something like a shell, although sometimes is used to refer to a certain women's body part.
Or a type of bread, at least here in Mexico. It's a versatile language.
In Spain it’s actually a common/trendy name for women born in the 70s
Also used as “sh**t” or as something more like motherf****r if you add words
The update took too long, James changed his shirt...
Can you redo the "
We Tried 50 Cheap Wireless Earbuds & Picked our FAVORITES!" video?
It would be nice to have an updated list.
I cant justify expensive ones since i dont listen to alot of music. But i would like a decent pair to take to the gym or maybe watch tv at night without having to put the volume so low.
An entire review, where only a fraction of it is devoted to HOW THE THINGS ACTUALLY SOUND? Idk, I guess my priorities are different. But spending like a third of the video runtime on touch controls and the app seems a bit stupid. Why not discuss the soundstage, compared with other high end TW earbuds? How about their value? Are they bass heavy? Neutral? Bright? What about the wireless charging? Does it work well?
Love sennheiser. Still rocking a pair of 558s from 2015. Don't like wireless ear buds. Too easy to lose imo
I've had 2 pairs of the true wireless 2 and both broke in less than 6 months.im now getting a free upgrade to thies now for my inconvenience.now there was a common issue with the true wireless 2 with the receiver/inductor becoming lose but they have rectified this in the 3rd gen they said.

Have been having the gen2 for years now. Still is my favorite and no need to look for something else!
I bought the TW1 back in 2019, and I have mixed feelings. The sound was great for me, but the earphone itself was a buggy mess. It often turned on inside the case and drained the battery constantly. If it hasn't been fixed yet, it is hard to recommend Momentum TW.
That was a huge issue with the TW1. They fixed it for the second model

Momentum 2's are excellent in pretty much every way, however if you are susceptible to white noise there is definitely some widely reported humming even when noise cancellation is turned off
The videos you do James have gotten a lot better! Props! Thank you!
I love Sennheiser. But was very disappointed this year. I bought 3 pairs (CX True Wireless) at Christmas from different retailers. Each pair around the same time after 4 months (so this April) the left earbud started to work intermittently and would make a clicking noise like a loose spring inside when you moved you head. 100% failure rate after 4 months for me :(.

It’s shot over two days.
I think the separate volume thing is just an android bug. I have had the same thing happen on my android devices when using Bluetooth headphones. On iOS it works as you’d expect, 1 volume control regardless of whether you change it from the earphone or from the phone.
Specifically, iirc it's a setting called Absolute Bluetooth Volume control on Android.
Wanna see some more reviews of these before I upgrade from the MTW2
They already had lots of competition. Oneplus, Razer, Samsung, google and more have all been making tws earbuds for years. I personally use Razer hammerhead tws pros and think they are great!
Edit: they chaned the title of the video to "more competition" now lol.
yeah idk what the deal with this title is. they have personally reviewed so many products themselves that, to me at least, seem way better than airpods
There is also soundcore
Lol, that not competition. That’s distant second place.
@@ladyinwight and yet Linus still keeps using AirPods with android phone. That just goes to tell you how trash “competition” really is

hwat i've been interested in is whether you are able to listen to just one earbud wthout the other being needed as the momentum 2 could only play from the right one singularily and would disconnect the left one if the right was put inside the case... it would help to have longer battery time if you could swap them when the other dies.
If the latest CX true queries have mono mode I would assume these do too, iirc it's a codec thing not a hardware limitation
Probably way too late a reply but yes you can, not just one of them like some headsets, each one can be used individually (though sometimes you have to go through your phone's drop down bt menu to connect but that may be an issue with my phone specifically), not that battery life is much of an issue, had them about a month and usually only having to charge them every 10+ days (roughly used an hour commute each way every day and a couple longer listening sessions every week)
@@RadsRFC thanks for the reply but yeah, I've had them for a while since they released and just recently the right earphone overnight dropped to 50% volume so I'll probably have to RMA them, hopefully this doesn't happen to yours but I've seen a lot of complaints about this issue (heard it's the battery causing problems), so just a heads up for the future.
I recently saw a teenager walking around with some older momentum wireless model, my god they looked enormous in his ears
I want more wireless earbud that are similar to the Sony Linkbuds. You can hear the outside world _while_ hearing your audio. My only complaint about the linkbuds is the quality of audio. If a company can improve on that I'd be willing to fork over more moneys. These Sennheiser wireless buds look a bit too bulky for my liking but I might feel different after using them for a while.
Good thing basically every in-ear bud on the market has a transparency mode, can hear my music/podcasts fine and hear the world around me the only thing that suffers is bass

Having the volume of the Bluetooth device independent from the source volume is much better IMHO, I always decouple them in the settings when possible. Doing it that way gives you much more granular control over the volume, and it lets you set either the source or the sink to a good level and make fine adjustments with the other device.

It’s worth noting in order to get best sound quality they need to be “burned in” give it a few hours and sound will be much improved

@@TalReviews I have airpods and use them every day. Making a call drops the audio quality since bluetooth only supports 2 channels. The mic itself is ok, wired mic is still better
@@TeddyBearGaming999 well duh, but I’ve managed to test whole lot of wireless earphones, and none came close to AirPods/Beats(again essentially the same)
Lol. There's a competition? Takes forever to pair? Apple, just open the lid, pop up on the phone, paired. lol
The thing with the seperate volumes is kinda a bt bug, it's supposed to be bonded to your phones volume
Having the phones and the devices volume connected is known as Absolute Volume. On Android phones you can turn it off or on in settings, but yes it's probably a bug that makes it be turned off on the headphone side
I prefer having my wireless buds having a separate volume from my device. That way I can keep my phone volume on high and my earbud volume low, this has major difference on battery life of my earbuds. So when I'm cycling for 4 hours my earbuds last for 3 instead of 1. I was super pissed that either android update or earbud update eliminated this feature from my skullcandy buds and bound the volume to seemingly having the buds at max and only being able to adjust my phone volume either with the earbud or the phone volume.
You can decouple that again by going into the developper settings on your phone and enabling "disable absolute volume"
Is this really a thing? Since they’re Bluetooth I doubt your phone has any way of helping the bud battery life by increasing the volume? Like, it can’t send a “stronger” Bluetooth signal to increase the volume right?…
@@aazdu03 OMFG I LOVE YOU
@@GamblerBE if my phone is sending a maximum volume out put signal to the output device then yes it does. I can run the output of my earbuds at a lower volume. Literally the same concept for any bluetooth speaker. If the volume is bound and the only volume you are controlling is the output from your phone or tablet or whatever but the speaker still goes to max volume it's because the speaker is always at whatever volume output the phone is at. If you can lower the speakers pre amp to a lower output it's using less power. I do understand what you are saying but if you test this you will find the results are extremely different running low phone and high speaker compared to high phone and low speaker, or having it bound to the phone.
@@justinbouchard np , i use the same settings with my Sennheiser headphones , it allows me to get higher volume overall (eu regulations i Guess for volume control?) And blow my eardrums off

Okay but I thought the consensus was that even the sony xm4's had airpods beat in some important categories
The xm4 beats the airpods pro in every category except comfort
I tried airpods after owning the xm3 and they sounded pretty bad compared to them so I'm getting the xm4 now
@@daedgoco look into the technics 60s first
@@Florianski Dude the XM3 even does the same.
"It's weird that it has to look for the device when it's already connected to my phone" - no, it isn't. The app is asking the phone to pass it the ID of the device - the phone could have any BT audio output connected, as far as the app knows, when it starts up. The app has to ask the phone what earbuds are connected, the phone has to respond, and then the app has to decide if those are MW3s. An app is not your phone, and this is a good thing for security.
Woah a third iteration is out?! Geez my Momentum 1 feels old
I hope they have fixed the low battery alert playing at full volume it scares the shit out of me every time.
Please charge your phone how do you live like this
Senheisser has one of the best transparency mode that sometimes I’m not even sure I’m wearing in ear headphones and get a tiny fright that I dropped them.
When I tried the AirPods Pro the transparency mode was good but it didn’t feel as natural as on the Senheissers.
This was first gen, I’m sure their 3rd gen wireless headphones stomp apple’s in every department except features; apple’s find my AirPods is damn handy especially now you can track them in the case.
Please do a review for the marshall earpods with anc! Thank you!
They look exactly like jaybird vista 2 the case to the earbuds. Even the packaging is the same. The app is also the same
Sennheiser's packaging looks like a bootleg version of "real" Sennheisers
I’ve had the TW2 almost since they were release and…I regret buying them deeply. Just my personal experience of course, but they are very low and honestly don’t sound very good. I prefer my fiio FH5 with the BTR5. 3 months ago I bought the Sony W something something 1000s and they blew the Sennys away. Gonna pass one the brand for a good while. Again, just my opinion
I just purchased the IE80. I intend on keeping them forever. Absolutely the best headphones/earbuds I have. My other headphones the compare against are the Sennheiser HD8 DJs and AudioTechnic M50x. Decent headphones, but I still prefer the IE80.
Sony wf-1000xm4?
@@ArtifactSkyline what earbuds did you have before that?
I’m searching, thanks!
@@ImmanuelWoodworking I was using a pair of Sennheiser MX 471. Not sure if you can still find them. I got them 8 or 9 years ago and used them regularly up until early 2021., when they finally gave up the ghost. Though I have always had a pair of headphones that I would split usage with. I had the Razer Electra V1 which I used at school and the MX 471 were for working out or errands. Hard to go wrong with just the basic Apple earbuds though (if you have iPhone). Though I swear by 3.5mm wired earbuds. It is always a bit of a crap shoot as everyone likes different sound and different music or content in general. My IE80 get used for podcasts, all kinds of music, youtube, movies, gaming when on the go, chatting with people and just about everything else under the sun. I wish you luck in your hunt. Maybe something like the Momentum In-Ear, I have heard mostly good things about them.
@@ArtifactSkyline great info thank you!!
You’re so right, it’s hard with earbuds because everybody has different taste! Haha that why I ask what you had before.
Thank you for the info!!
I really want to know if they fixed the horrible ANC distortion of the 2s. If there were sudden high-pitched noises the ANC would just turn into static in your ears, and it was terrible. Because of this I cannot use them at work since there is a lot of tape being used and the tape peeling will cause the static every time. It also happens in transparency mode now that I think about it. Something about the way the mics process the sound.
Yeah, I get that from jingling my keys. It's so loud and sharp that it's painful
(3:14) I too hate when apps force tutorials on users without options to skip them, especially if the user were to reinstall the app on another device and get forced to go through it again!
I was stung by the first True Wireless. The sound quality was good but everything else was terrible, Bluetooth wasn't great, app was rubbish and the battery life was just broken. They never truly turned off so you could fully charge them, put them away for a couple of days and they'd be dead before you get to use them again. I won't buy anything from them again after how bad my experience was. And I've loved their wired headphones for many years.
The True Wireless 2 fixed a lot of the bugs, then the CX series improved on it. Bit of a simplified app, but the connection is seamless now. I don't think the True Wireless 3 would suck that bad. That said, the OG version is indeed a dumpster fire connectivity-wise. Credit: I have owned all of the versions.
I had the same problem with the MTW1. They were unusable due to the self unloading. I just sent them back to Amazon.
So not a massive loss for me and it didn't stop me from buying the MTW2. haven't regretted that decision. By far the best sound out of all true wireless headphones I ever tested and no problems whatsoever.
I couldn't buy anything from sennheiser again. The lack of support from them in pretty much every way with the originals just put me right off them. Had they just come out and given some money off the gen 2's or had some kind of replacement program so you could pay a little and you'd get the fixed version I'd have been fine with. But nope, just an overpriced terrible product with zero support.
I tried a few sets out and honestly the best wireless buds right now are the Sony wf-1000xm4's. Apps good, battery's great, connection is flawless, microphones are awesome and the sound quality is better than the original true wireless by some margin. Oh and the active noise cancellation is ridiculously good. Easily beat the air pods pro, which I don't say lightly.
@@dahliafenr so you paid $1000 for tw 1 tw2 cxplus over 4 years and now have a middle of the road tws that has been superceded. Other sennheiser products like hd800s would cost $1000 4 years ago and still be one of the best in that price range today.
@@Burty117 I'm not sure how it's such a big issue if it's apparent in the time you can just send it back to the shop and get your money back. But I guess that is your prerogative.
I have to say until this comment section I've only ever heard good things about Sennheiser customer service, but I'm in Germany and it might very well be worse in the US.
Wouldn't be the first company Nintendo of Europe's customer service is outstanding for example, while Nintendo of America's is hot garbage.
How are the xm4s compared to the xm3s btw. Do you know? From my testing the xm3s are good earbuds but not as good as the MTW2 or the old Bose SoundSport. The 4s I didn't have an opportunity to test yet.

I was gonna get a pair of TW2 earlier, but decided to go with another pair of Jaybird Vista instead. The extra price premium doesn't feel worth it
I own a pair of TW2's and the sound quality is amazing. Everything else however... Not so great. I bought them because I didn't want to buy airpod pros. Guess what, just get airpod pros. It's bluetooth, you're already taking a hit to quality for convivence, so why not take another minor hit to quality for a major increase in convenience. I've returned mine 3 times so far because they keep breaking. Next time I'm getting my money back. Thx EU law.
I've had the TW2 since forever and they work just fine. Also next to the amazing sound everything else I'd want they do just fine.
Is there anything else wrong with them other that you were unlucky with them breaking?
Not good how did yours break?
@@neiliewheeliebin They’ve all broken the same way. The right piece stops producing sound. The left piece still works in slave mode, so I know the circuit is working. My first pair lasted about 18 months, my second pair around 6 months, and the third pair around 3 months. My current pair I’ve had for 12 months, but I’ve barley used them.
are airpods good if you don't have an iphone
I had the same problem. 3 times. Luckily I got a full refund. I got the Beats FitPro, and I love them.
Sennheiser's Momentum line has been one mess after another. Ever since Sennheiser's consumer lines got purchased, it's been disappointment after disappointment all across the product lineup, with the one exception being the IE 600 (even if those are kind of dead in the water against something like the IER-M9 or Blessing 2 Dusk). I feel like they are sitll messing up their priorities. The EQ is embarrasingly limited, the focus on audio quality is still not what you'd expect from an audio dedicated brand, and overall the MTW3 just feel a tad... confused to me, like they arrived 2 years late to the TWS party and are having too hard a time catching up and deciding if they wanna prioritize audio or fall into the mainstream
It's honestly hard to make an argument in favor of most of these non-airpod options. the airpods are so compelling bc of how convenient they are if you're in the apple ecosystem. I don't see how any of these alternatives for non-apple users are convenient enough to compromise on sound. for the prices some of the tws options are asking for, you might as well get some wired iems tuned to your liking and then attach them to the fiio utws5
@@SuLu_B And the thing is, Airpods Pro aren't even bad. Regular airpods, they sound pretty bad. Airpod Max, horribly overpriced and middling. Airpods Pro... they sound really good, honestly, and they have enough positives in other areas that even if they aren't a 1:1 competitor to audiophile grade IEMs in the same price category, they offer other features that make it worthwhile. Ease of use, ANC, good battery life, comfort. These things matter to a regular consumer. And by trying to make a mainstream product, Sennheiser is failing to please both audiophiles wanting a good sound quality with decent mainstream features, and the mainstream audience wanting a comfortable convenient package that sounds nice
@Carl Gunderson They are not subjective. It's why frequency response graphs exist. What's subjective is what someone enjoys better. The reason the pros are better is they actually have bass, the bass response on the non-pro is lifeless and lacking, they are very shouty and peaky. That, and both the soundstage and resolution of the Pro is better. Now, if you want less bass on you AP Pro, you can EQ it out, that's preference, but trying to EQ bass into the regular AP makes them distort across the entire frequency range because they can barely handle it. It's not about everyone becoming an audiophile. It's about an average consumer getting something good, instead of having a downgrade "just because they won't notice"
@Carl Gunderson Sound is not subjective, the hell are you going on about? A sound is a frequency. Either your headphones are playing it properly, or they distort, but distorting just means you're hearing a different frequence than the one intended by the actual audio record, which is a hardware issue. But on the same headphone, two people hear the SAME frequency. You can have an opinion on what you hear, that is subjective, but the sound is not
@@andresdiscoli374 yeah I forgot to mention anc as a big selling point over adapting wired iems to tws. I own a pretty old pair of Sony wh1000xm2 that honestly sound like muddy pieces of shit but the anc is nice when I'm on an airplane

Yep! Waste of a review.
Lol you went to the wrong channel for that :)
@@JoeGillian0 When Linus reviews earphones on this channel he gives quite a bit more information, including how they sound. So I don't think it's the wrong channel.
@@4203105 lol, what i meant is that there are other channels more specialized to get information about how they sound or perform. Anyway, i did not dislike the video, i think it could be better for some even if sound quality can be subjective
That price is too high for me. I don't care what everyone says about sennheiser, I had the overhyped momentum's 2 and they where some of the flattest and lowest(volume wise) sounding headphones I've tried, and overall very boring sounding compared to other cheaper headphones that I had. I don't know if they have gotten better but I would have to hear to belive.
When you buy Sennheiser, you expect flat, they aren't configured to be fun.
@@saminhossain750 Well, for something that it's not necessesarily intended to be used professionally, but rather listening to music, I find that kind of stupid cause it sounds like you sucked the life out of it.
