I love that theres now a market for 10-15 NM wheels. As I understand, thats the range that most long term/pro Sim Racers tend to use even with their $2500+ 25NM wheels. Obviously theres a loss of detail when you're peaking at 15NM in corners & theres no headroom for detail, but these less powerful wheels are great for their prices. And yeah, Fanatec has absolutely nothing in that range but I'm sure theyre not going to stay out of the market forever. Competition is always good for the consumer.
Whelp... You just sold me on the R12 over the R9. I was thinking "Do I really need it? Does it matter?" but it seems the step up will justify itself in future proofing wanting a stronger kit. Thanks for the review! I'm very envious of your rig btw.
Kinda like two car engines, with the same torque, but one with fewer cylinders; even though they can both tow your trailer, the smaller engine has to work harder at that limit, than the bigger engine does.
Thanks for the info. I plan on getting the r12 soon. If I may ask, what is your monitors distance away from your steering wheel? The reason I ask is that I am using a LG C1 and I am considering using two more for a triple monitor setup.
It is possible to use either on this. The reason I still suggest R12, is that if you find it too much for your current platform, you can always turn it down… but you won’t need to buy a new base if you upgrade. I have and use both… I prefer the R12 of both. They both offer great feeling, but the 12 has a bit better texture.
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Sorry, but you weren't sincere when you said it never gets hot. I also have Moza, but all DD bases get very hot, be it Moza, Simagic, Simucube, etc. In addition to getting hot, when they reach a certain temperature, they cut the power a little. This is a fact !
I'm glad this question was asked I currently have an R9 and my main reasoning for wanting to upgrade is after 45 minutes it cuts the power to a noticeable difference due to the heat, however everywhere that I've read people have said that the R12 does not have that issue, so this is basically confirmation of that?
@@celiohigashi You're full of it ... and then some. All DD Bases DO NOT get "very hot". Some don't even get "hot" enough to be classified as being "very warm". I've had a MOZA R5 and an R9v1 for months and months now & either base could clearly confirm you to be a blatant liar if they were able to speak.
I see that the r12 has all the ports for connecting the pedals, shifter, and so on. But I can’t find any info on how the crp pedals connect to the base. Do they only connect to the computer? If so at $499 that takes away a bit from the base.
If the 12 is available now and you don’t mind the extra money, it will never hurt to have a larger motor. You have the luxury of turning it lower, it will last longer, make heat dissipate easier etc..
@NOOBIFIER1337 I've contacted abruzzi there holding my R9 order until the end of the month so I can pay the difference on the R12 then as can't afford it until 27th, but I'd rather wait and not be disappointed. Thanks for the advice 🙏 👍
How's this stack up against the Logitech G Pro Wheel? Thinking about getting the Logi paired with Fanatec CSL Elite V2s. I've been looking at Moza products, but the overheating problems popping up are concerning.
There is no overheating problem that I have seen. I use r3 r9 and r12. It’s quite good, and with mood there is a choice of wheels. Logi DD is also solid.
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Thanks, Noobifer. Just looking at the FFB, which do you prefer out of the 4? I don't care about the wheel right from the get go, the Logi one looks more than apt for me and Forza. Is the R12 leaps and bound better than the Logi Pro?
Thanks for the video. I pulled the trigger on the r12. Your setup is insane, good stuff!
great setup indeed he has a lot of money!

Dont you see there is a delay between your wheel movements and the movements of the wheel on screen? How do you not notice that? Its crazy
The screen and camera fps are different so we can see it in the replay, but our eyes can't tell the difference in reality so you don't notice.

Would love to see a comparison against Simagic which many who have tried both say it's much better in performance, quality and value
More torque equals more gooder. Thanks for the review, N00b!
One question. Isn't it too strong for the wheel stand? I have omega gt wheel stand and I'm wondering which should i buy, r9 or r12.

damn makes me want more than my r5 but i dont have the space for more xD
noobifier! i thought you were just an sc guy! im getting into sim racing myself and ordered an r12 waiting for it to arrive.
I am an SC guy, but if it’s going to take 30 years to release SC, I need to focus a bit on other things as well.
Any heating issues after long use at max torque?
Never. You can hear there is a small fan internally, and the body gets only warm to the touch.

Have u compared this to the csl Dd does it blow it away?
Yes, the R12 works more like a DD1

The CPR pedals can connect direct to the R12 or direct to the PC. Many options.
Have the r9 on back-order going to cancel and pay the difference on the r12. Also have exactly the same cable tidy's 😅
