    To Mormons:
Some of you are the nicest people I’ve ever met. You probably didn’t know this about the LDS doctrine. It’s ok to be wrong. Just get things right, and simply look to Christ alone for the redemption of your soul.
The Mormon Apostle Bruce R. McConkie said this: “there are some serious sins for which the cleansing of Christ does not operate, and the law of God is that men must then have their own blood shed to atone for their sins”
But the Bible tells us that Christ died “not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world”

I recently found out a older friend at Church was strongly involved with the LDS and had a position like an elder with them. He started having midlife memories out of nowhere of reading the ol' KJV on his front porch as a child with his old school Baptist grandmother. These memories and Bible knowledge became so vivid out of nowhere that he walked away from LDS even while still holding his leader position. They started calling him and members of his family (even extended members) and he finally had to go meet with several LDS leaders to stop the harassment. Him and I have been in Bible studies for a few years and I'm just know learning his amazing story.

I found an interesting verse that I think would be helpful: Jesus discusses two types of shame. And he leaves it to us to figure out. The reason for high rates of suicide is likely due to the bad type of shame. When you shame someone with fear (which fear is given by Satan,) you plant a seed of self doubt that slowly kills the person. Then there is the shame that is natural; when you do something like steal, or lie, you feel a sense of shame for not being honest. These are different types of shame.
Edit: Joseph Smith claiming he saw God is also a false. For nobody can see God and live. god himself says that in the Bible.
You are going to be told you are wrong, that Mormons don’t believe this anymore, you’re going to be mocked by MANY Mormons for this video because it defines the truth of their history which is what they want to bury. They can’t face reality or truth. Thank you for caring enough to stand up and say something about this. The exact phrase "repent of your sins" may not be in the bible but Jesus certainly preached that. " From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17. Jews knew exactly what repentance is and that's who Christ Jesus said that to. I'm no Mormon but that wasn't the whole truth.

@swordtraining So do you believe that repent means to turn from your sins? God repents about 35 times in the KJV Bible. Repent can’t mean turn from sin if God repented. Repentance has context to determine what needed to be repented of. The problem
Is telling people they have to Repent of their Sins in the context of Salvation. Jesus was definitely not teaching to Repent of your Sins to be saved. Anyone who believes that you have to repent/turn from your sins to be saved is teaching a false Gospel.

    • @MattPowellOFFICIAL
      @MattPowellOFFICIAL  2 месяца назад +5

FACT: *God repented more than man in the Bible.*
Defining repentance is simple, it's a change of mind.
When repenting, we are supposed to have a change of belief. Before salvation, we were trusting ourselves... We repented, and trusted in Jesus alone for redemption.
That's it. That's repentance. It is NOT reforming your life.
God repented more than man. God never had to "turn from sin"
Turning from sin is something everyone should do. But it's not going to redeem you.
Every false religion misdefines repentance as turning from sin... But the Bible defines it clearly. The Bible is it's own dictionary.

What’s strange is how a bunch of Christians would fall for such doctrines that today Mormons preach.
There is reason that Christians may have believed the real land of Zion or the real biblical land was in Utah. That the true and only word of God was the King James Bible. There is very strong reason that God’s Kingdom another civilization was here on the earth and temples and cathedrals were everywhere, buildings that are impossible to even build today. There is a difference between becoming a God and becoming like God. The church no longer actively teaches this. Like you said, it’s ok to be wrong. We recognize that this is not the case. Also what you said about people committing suicide as a “blood atonement” is just flat out wrong. How dare you pin that on people who might be struggling mentally.

    • @MattPowellOFFICIAL
      @MattPowellOFFICIAL  2 месяца назад +8

The point is, *the LDS is causing people to struggle mentally.*
Of course those who commit suicide are struggling mentally. No one is denying that. The fact is, over 50% of Utah is part of the LDS. Utah leads the USA in suicide. That means there is a strong correlation between Mormonism and suicide. There's many written letters from young Mormons who felt like they couldn't measure up to the standard of achieving godhood, and so they decided to take their own lives. This is a very real thing. What makes this epidemic worse is when people deny these statistics, and then try to paint those of us who are pointing out the elephant in the room as if we are the problem.

Exmo here, it was only 10 years ago that we had lessons on becoming like God. And if the doctrine of the church never changes as the prophets have said, why change now? Becoming a god/goddess was from the very beginning of Mormonism and Joseph Smith said that would not change. So you are again met with either Joseph Smith is a false prophet, OR God is a liar. Make your pick, but you can’t have it both ways.

Matt, I’m gonna help you out bro. Your comment that starts “To Mormons” seems pretty condescending by saying “It’s okay to be wrong,” and I would ask that you don’t read my comment that way.
    No other gods
    John 10:31-35
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
    35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
The scripture Jesus is referring to is Psalm 82:6
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Hebrews 12:9 says that God is the Father of our spirits
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Paul further says this in Romans 8:16-17:
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Interesting…he says if we are children of God, that we are also heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ 🤔
Not needing to be baptized? 🤔
Jesus himself said in John 3:5
5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
If Jesus was baptized, the most perfect person to walk the earth, I’m pretty sure we need to do the same. Since many people die without the knowledge of the gospel, I see it as a merciful thing that God provides us with a way to provide the ordinance of baptism for those who did not receive it. (1 Corinthians 15:29)
    Not needing to repent?
To repent means to put away your sins and seek forgiveness for them. Jesus told the lady taken in adultery: go, and sin no more.
I’m sorry I didn’t get all the way through your video, but just wanted to show you these verses. To you and everyone else, I would ask, why learn about a particular faith from the faithless? Go to the source (aka, the Church) and decide for yourself if it is true and seek guidance from God in prayer.

@@Medic8808 in John 10:27 Jesus says that his sheep hear his voice and follow him.
I do not bear false witness. I testify to you that as an ex member, Jesus is not in that church. You follow a false Christ who teaches blasphemy against God as Holy doctrines and covenants. Blasphemies that are brought about by false prophets who have made prophecies that have not come true (example: Brigham young prophecied that black men would never have any higher station than a white man, Joseph Smith and his prophecy of the temple being built in Missouri as well as his claims that he had done more for the world than any other including Jesus himself. Yes that’s a a real thing he said.)
This is a test of a prophet according to the Bible:
      Deuteronomy 18:22
“when a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously; thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
All the Book of Mormon prophets and even modern prophets are proven false through this verse because either the Bible refuted it, (like in the case of all men being of one blood, which removes the negro race following Satan in the pre mortal life,) or reality came along and proved that black men would and do certainly hold positions of power over white men.
Not only do Mormons believe that their works in the temple get them to the celestial kingdom, but they believe that as a result they will become Gods and goddesses of their own worlds as God once was.
The Bible says that God is only one God and no other came before or shall come after him. That is self explanatory.
I am no respecter of religion myself, I simply read the Bible and pray for the Holy Spirit to testify of its truth. When I was a Mormon I did the same thing with the Book of Mormon and only got the feeling in my heart that it could be true. I never heard his voice until I considered that Joseph Smith was wrong about the Bible and that it is not corrupt as he preached. So I read it. And I have learned and understood more in that small fraction of time because God is a miracle worker and he spoke to me, and testified of its truth to me.
I do not cast stones as you believe I do, for the Bible is for instruction and all it’s verses may be used to show others the truth. If you do not believe the Bible and instead believe an entirely different doctrine that is worthy of being rebuked.
2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness".
I do not believe the Holy Ghost will agree with any church. Another difference between Christianity and Mormonism is the belief in the trinity. Mormons do not believe in the trinity but instead in all three godhead being separate. This is despite the Bible quoting Jesus that he is one with God, and that God is spirit.
People who follow Jesus follow the law that he laid down his life for. Which is
In 1 Corinthians 9:21, Paul writes, "To those who are without the law, like one without the law-though I am not without God's law but under the law of Christ-to win those without the law".
This is all so very simple.
