You are short circuiting 18650 battery with nichrome wire, battery will not explode or catch fire?

When nichrome heats , resistance of nichrome increases

No short circuit happened the circuit is complete and the resistance can make heat which normally is bad because the energy is wasted but here it is good because it needs to be very hot to start the fire
