My exact thoughts. Also a huge Respawn fan, I think they are a core of really great devs and constantly create technical masterpieces.

Because it's still f*cking unplayable and a buggy, stuttery, glitchy mess. It's more unfinished than cyberpunk was at launch. Major animation glitch in the first 5 seconds of this video in a major set-piece. This game constantly breaks and ruins any tiny bit of immersion it had left.
People havent forgotten about it its a nice game ive beaten it a couple of times its good Cal is awesome. I love his fighting style and everything i hope part 3 is just as good.
It's honestly shocking how much this game is slept on. Okay 2023 was an insanely strong year in gaming but IMO this game was significantly more enjoyable than Spiderman 2, Tears of the Kingdom or Resident Evil 4 if we look at GOTY nominees.
Looking at other AAA sequels like Forbidden West, Ragnarok and once againt TOTK and SP2, it feels like this game took a much bigger step forward.
- Expanding the playable areas by a huge margin, essentially making the 2 big planets open world, therefore making exploration much more fun and succesfully combining soulslike with metroidvania
- Adding significant new mechanics like the blaster stance and mounts
- New abilities that made the platforming even more advanced
- It explored things in Star Wars universe that were only touched upon in books or comics before
- Some characters like Cal and Merrin got pretty nice character development too
- And oh boy that enemy variety is really underrated: Wildlife in all sizes, imperial droids, stormtroopers, purge troopers, bounty hunters, bounty hunter droids, dark side users, tough humanoid aliens and an actual Sith
It’s just because of how poorly it’s launch went.

What's shocking about having technical issues that rendered the game unplayable with massive stutters and bugs even at the lowest graphics settings at launch?
The exploration in this game is next level ..so much to find..so many parkour challenges..Easter eggs and killer combat
I love the enthusiasm through this review. I've only played a few hours sporadically due to life and work, but now i'm waiting until I can get at least 6 hours un-interrupted to immerse myself into this game, and replay it from the start. Fallen order is BY FAR the best game I've ever played, this one seems like it will be sooo much better. Part 3 should be the game that is never bettered....

This game is definitely one of the best games made. Cal's unpredictable upgrades make him versatile. Although, he need to work on his leg workouts more because them drop kick don't do much damage.

Just started playing this game a week ago, my first star wars game ever, and i really just can't stop playing it, amazing story, brilliant game, really hope they make a 3rd game

I loved playing this game when it launched, definitely my 2023 GOTY
Now iv just finished the story yesterday, still gonna carry on and do all the side stuff, bounties etc, and i have to say i was frustrated at points but overall a very very good game and worth the money. £30 paid and i think it was well spent.

It’s nice to see someone else say the love this game, and I agree it is a step up from Fallen Order in every way, even the small things like the customisation just made it so much more fun to play, and the world and everything it was great, can’t wait to play the third! Only thing i think wouldn't made the game better would be to switch Vader out for Starkiller, the secret apprentice, and give him an inquisitor look while keeping the secret apprentice aspect of the chartered without telling us anything just have him show up to fight Cere and that it. That way he could return as the Villain in the next game or even better have it setup his own game. That would've made it perfect.

You're almost required to use the DXVK wrapper to reduce the stuttering.
With DXVK and my new very powerful hardware, I am finally able to play the game with an almost stutterfree experience.
But that's again, with DXVK and a very powerful computer.
The game was never fixed.

Been wanting this game for a while now, finally came to game pass! I appreciate your video and time.
Only thing that wasn't a masterpiece was the performance
I was a day one player, and I just had a small issue with my Lightsaber. Other than that, this game was worlds better than Jedi Fallen Order! The Shatter Perk is a game changer if you get it early, and if you're and experienced player of this series, playing on Grandmaster is too fun. I got the Platinum Trophy on my first playthrough, and put in 192 hours on the game, so maybe one day I'll do new game+. Glad to see someone else out there enjoyed this game, and I can't wait for the 3rd game rumored for 2026. 👍🏽
How is the game now i play on ps5 and i really wanna download it but wanna know if the bugs are fixed like clipping into into the mastis loading times bounties much appreciated if i get this answered:)
There are some bugs here and there and some drops in frames but those happen rarely and after 60+ hours of it i didn't encounter any real bug that annoyed me but your experience might be different.
If you do experience crashes i recommend always resting whenever you get the chance.

I really want to play this game because i liked fallen order so much, but with my current setup i fear that it will be unplayable (i have rtx3060 laptop and a steam deck). I wonder if i render the game on my laptop at 800p/720P and remote play it to my steam deck that performance will be somewhat acceptable
Thanks for the review, to me the masterpiece is Fallen Order, this is a bit below because of the plot, less interesting than the previous one and the planets variety, but this is still a great game, definitely improving the gameplay of Fallen Order in many ways.

didnt play this one yet, but played the first one, and liked it overall, but somethings are off, it tries to be an all genre game almost, I didnt like the souls-like inspired combat too much. Although, the feeling the lightsaber gives was really good. I didn't like Cal's animations. Also, EA being EA, kinda ruined my experience a little bit, overlapping the app settings over steam, I couldnt use dualsense controller anymore.
Fun Fact: Respawn is actually the creator of COD4 MW.
Good game but masterpiece is a stretch. Playing through the main storyline I had to youtube a lot to figure out just where to go, and each guide had tons of comments with people looking for the same solution. If they can improve exploration/navigation in the next one, then it could be a masterpiece imo
The gameplay is amazing, but no matter what I do I could never connect or get into the story
Got it on PC and it runs well. Minimum 60 fps, usually more. Really enjoying it. Tons of great detail, audio, conversation, great story, gameplay is a lot of fun. Got it on sale too. Definitely found that it was worth it. Highly recommend.

So you're basically just ignoring all the stuttering then? Because it's been proven that it doesn't matter what PC you have or how high your FPS is, you will have stuttering.
@@user-lz5vh9bb5w my 3080 stomps any part of the game with at least 60+ frames. Pretty sure they optimized it better in later updates, but I have never once had stuttering issues. Even in Koboh. I was actually surprised by all the negative reviews considering how well it has run for me.
Now if you are still running a GTX 1060 - you definitely will experience more stuttering issues.

@rockwell6124lol, i'm playing on ps5 and performance is improved but still not very good. It was very bad in the first 6 months. As I said the game isn't all about story and visuals. The actual gameplay/combat is pretty bad and nowhere near a masterpiece... and I say this by beating the game within all difficulties and spent overall 150+ hours on it, so yeah... I can agree it's overall a good game, but nowhere near a masterpiece. IDK about your standards tho. LOL

This game was a joke, performance wise. Was super excited to play it, and i heard soo many good things about it’s story. But could only play 7hrs before giving up on it. I don’t buy EA games as a general rule, and this game just reminded me why.
If i wanted to play dark souls id just play that
the last third of the game is so bad tho.. the story doesnt hit at all. there was WAY more potential for a good story. dagan lowkey wasted and the final fight and the whole plot around it was so bad. for me its max a 8/10. i love star wars, the atmosphere is great, graphics are fantastic, fighting is fun etc but the story is really not good, it couldve been so much more

I wouldnt call it a masterpiece. The only reason being that it took a major step backwards.

Masterpiece is a stretch. It’s great at best. The exploration becomes stale when hunting down the collectibles. Enemy placement is nonsensical at times. The non-Cal section of the game bloats an already drawn out ending.
This video should be called “why zoomers shouldn’t be allowed to share opinions”.
Picked it up on sale for Ps5. Its a steaming hot pile of dogshit. Terrible graphics, stutters, input lag, flickering, etc... The story didnt help either. Deleted it after 4 hours of gameplay.
