- It's Halloween, and what better video for spooky day than an Owl House comic dub about everyone's favorite unhinged colonial era witch hunter! Before he became Belos, Caleb was the only one keeping Philip in check. It's no wonder he became a monster.

Philip trying to murder every single girl Caleb is attracted to is smth I can see him doing tho
I knew it Philip was mad cause Caleb had all the rizz!!!
I theorized that the death of their parents most likely traumatized Philip deeply and he probably developed an unhealthy psychological need to cling to his brother in order to cope. Masha was correct when saying Philip got jealous when big bro got a hot witch girlfriend, it's just he was jealous of HER taking Caleb away from HIM. If anything it would explain why Philip constantly creates grimwalkers of Caleb even though he always just ends up killing them, because he just can't let him go or he'll have no one.
Just comes to show how complicated of a villain Philip is.
I never realized before that he was already trying to murder her when caleb showed up. That's why philip was worried about being punished
Man...this was one of the most haunting Wiitebro comics I've ever seen. Because they treated as Phillip almost KILLING a girl as so casual, so simple. Which really shows how much violence was normalized by the Puritan populace in the Americas. It's actually quite historically accurate, honestly.
Judging by the fact that there was blood on her head, indicated that Phillip had to smack her unconscious in order to take life as a “witch.”
Unfortunately Phillip is irredeemable.
Even when he died he still was believe in lies about witch hunting.

He couldn't help it, a witch? They as kids were taught that witches are the worst brings in existance and must be destroyed so when sphillip saw that his own brother betrayed him by loving a witch, it had to end this way. I stand by phillip, I'd have done the same thing he does, he's protecting humanity from witches as they possess power a lot stronger than that of a human, if witches decide to expand or control the dimensional rift, it will be bad for humans.

Caleb said he wouldn't let enebody separate him from Philip but later on he chose evelyn over him. So sad. It reminds me of jinx /powder and vi , Simon Laurent and Grace Monroe and catra and adora because of the I'm allways on your side and will never leave you alone" . Until the promise gets broken (from the perspective of the future villain) and they feel replaced or abandoned.
Is it just me or does Phillip sound a lot like Loki? Cause the speech was giving me Loki vibes

Ugh way better than canon instead of he’s just evil just because, he was raised to hate witches and then found out it was all lies his opinion about witches and magic was forced through fear and trauma even abuse maybe by the people and his only family choose that world and it’s witches over him causing him to snap and kill Caleb trauma can turn anyone into a monster
I honestly was a bit disappointed too with the canon explanation. They left so many clues and reasons to why you would think that their would be deeper meaning behind Belos motivations, only to end it with "Nah he's just delusional and indulging in his own fantasy of being the hero of his own story" without further explaining why. I know Dana and the writers were limited in writing due to only getting three seasons and I don't blame them for that and they did a great job with what they got... But I honestly feel a little blue balled.

Unfortunately it’s not as simple as being able to leave and get another studio to pick up a show. Disney would have to relinquish the rights to TOH, and in the slim chance they did, there’s no guarantee another studio would ever put the money behind it. I’d say it’s better to finish the story with what they had rather than leave it in limbo forever.
@@QuirkyPegasy I think it would have been more fitting for her character that if instead of letting him melt away in the boiling rain and getting stomped, she just puts him in a magic bubble he can't break out of and just locks him away somewhere like in the in--between dimension... Then again some would argue that that would be even more cruel.
@@Roark787 fate worse than death sometimes is done or she sets him free from his own corruption. I noticed he had no light particles like Luz and flapjack did so he had no soul since he lost it in his hate and corruption
Belos reminds me of Amon from The Legend Of Korra both people loved by everyone both hate and want to get rid of people with powers and have equality both clame to comuntcat with a entity and both of them turn out to be compleat frauds and both of them changed there names and both of them have a brother and both of them have a scar across his face and both of them ware a mask
