      Yeah but if you listen to him at the beginning, he says that the challenger makes 800whp. If you factor in drivetrain loss that's pretty much 1000hp.

    I drove an Automatic stock Hellcat, it's unreal how it just slams you back in the seat, and doesn't let up, even going well past the speed limit.

  • @PO55UM95
    @PO55UM95 7 лет назад +129

    I use to work for a Dodge dealership in sales. I was the only one who knew anything about the Hellcat besides 707 horsepower. Then when I moved to service, the salesman would come get me when they had a customer looking at one. But I have not driven one flat out yet which is disappointing. I've driven plenty of Scat Packs. But no Hell kitty's. Good review David! That looked like fun👍

      Lil Duzi Dirt Its going to make 815 whp with 757 pounds of torque. Close to 1000 crank HP... The wallpaper gave it away months ago. 815 size tires... LMFAO Nope 815whp.

    ive rarely driven any fast cars, because i just recently got my license about 5 months ago (im 17). but i have driven ALOT of cars since then. a family member of mine got the hellcat challenger with an automatic transmission, and let me drive it. i can honestly say it was mind blowingly fast. i was left speechless after i floored it. i dont know if ill ever feel the pressure that car puts on your chest in another car. I love the car, its so comfortable as david said. great review.

    • @maximus9401

      linkinparkdrift thank you, I was wondering if anyone else noticed the mistake

    • @hammurambi
      @hammurambi 7 лет назад +1

      linkinparkdrift It's pretty rare to find twin screw blowers on OEM applications too. Twin screws are more efficient for making power, but get much worse fuel mileage since they don't let compressed air flow back through the lobes at idle

    • @HankeyMountainGarage
      @HankeyMountainGarage 7 лет назад

      linkinparkdrift what's the difference??

    • @linkinparkdrift
      @linkinparkdrift 7 лет назад

      A twin screw compressor air while the roots just pushes it into the intake. There's more to it than that though; like the kind of rotor they use inside. Someone with more knowledge can chime in.

    • @HankeyMountainGarage

    The 2015 Hellcat Charger I drove was great. I can only imagine how it would be with a manual. The auto is so good though, and consistent. It also helps that you only have to worry about keeping it straight from a dig while you floor it. Straight out nuts! And now we have the demon incoming... I can only imagine...

    I had a manual 2017 hellcat, 1st gear it to tall, traded it in for an automatic so my wife could drive it, now that thing is crazy, I love manual, have a roush phase one supercharged 2015 mustang gt, that's an insane car. The hellcat is just as crazy with the auto, just can't get enough of them, might go to phase 2 on the mustang but that may be too crazy, nah it's never crazy enough, I want to be scared every time I get in the car, love your videos keep up the good work.

    Agreed. Chevy offered a performance driving program for new ZR1 buyers, and along with companies like Porsche and Ferrari, more mass production corporations should offer driving programs for their special models as well.
    Having said that, you can also save up to 30% on insurance by going through a defensive/performance driver certification program.

    • @joshuaholmes7929
      @joshuaholmes7929 7 лет назад +8

      You can't find a cts wagon the people who bought one aren't getting rid of them just like the magnums from Dodge or the old wrx sti wagons. Cars the companies didn't sell well but have a huge fan base.

      joshua holmes i bought a Hemi Magnum about 5 years ago in awesome condition. It was black, 83k miles, bought it for $6500. Just got rid of it bout 4 months ago for $9600 with 109k miles for someone who was going to daily it. I literally laughed all the way to the bank and back home hahahahaha.

      Tristen Sharba the srt8 magnums are SUPER SLEEPER. I wish I had the hem I I have the 3.5L magnum and everyone thinks it's a grandpa wagon, ironically I bought it from my grandpa lol

    • @noirceur_
      @noirceur_ 7 лет назад

      Sean Coyne my Hemi was definitely quick, but when i raced against my buddy's slightly tuned hemi pickup he pulled away from me decently fast. It is a highway missle though, loves sitting right at 90mph. I own mainly German cars now and I do miss it.

  • @Japalian24
    @Japalian24 7 лет назад

    I do believe they should have classes. That would be awesome. Anything over 400whp is a lot for a lot of cars. When the company develops the cars not all cars were made for major tuning. Yes they have the ability but doesn't mean they are meant to be pushed. But that Car is nice.

      @razvanmihalache5680 7 лет назад +16

      97o355 At crank the scat makes 485. This makes 707, and can EASILY be given more. It's exactly a 222 HP difference. The scat is pretty much at its maximum tuning capability as well. This has a pulley and some other boltons and makes 800 WHEEL, probably 900-950 crank. Can't get that with a scat pack.

    • @zbib43
      @zbib43 7 лет назад +1

      Razvan Mihalache You could always throw a supercharger on the scat or 392 but then again that would be pointless since the hellcat's already out lol

    • @zbib43
      @zbib43 7 лет назад +1

      Terrab Nadia I know that. I'm saying whats the point of investing all that in a scat or 392 srt when you get more power off the get go with hellcat. Lets say u throw $10k worth of mods into the 6.2 of course it can catch up with a "stock" hellcat. Now throw $10k worth of mods on the hellcat, it'll still be levels ahead of the 6.2 modded

    Drove a Scat Pack earlier tonight for the first time. Was pretty damn cool. I have mostly older cars, Toyota Supras, Eagle Talon and other cars. The Scat Pack was a lot of fun. Very responsive and receptive albeit being a heavy car.

    No one seems to mention how unreliable these fatcats are, dodge sucks, go look up hellcat forums and see for your self how horrendously unreliable these things are,and its not common issues, they all seem to have different random issues, the supercharger failure is the most comon and expensive one tho.

    How does driving this compare to driving a ~600-700whp Evo or something similar to that? This Hellcat definitely has more power but the weight must make it feel entirely different.

    It's really funny to see the difference between the commentary from a guy like David vs Regular Car Reviews. Especially the "brought Dodge back to life" comment. I'm of the opinion that this was the last car Dodge needed to make if they wanted to stay afloat but hey, to each their own. I'm not complaining if there are more 600+hp cars on the road.

    What's cool about this particular car is the white makes it unexpecting which has a sleeper look.
