This song reminds me of my grandad. He was so adventurous and strong. He wasn’t rich in material items but he was so smart he made a life for himself. As he got older life really took a toll on him mentally and physically even to his own family jumping him and beating him with chains put him in a full body cast. He was so strong passed away last year. Life is shitty at times.

I’m an old white guy who does service calls on rental properties. Last week I was in a duplex fixing things and the woman living there was a woman of color and she looked at me and said “I can see in your eyes you are carrying a lot of weight, let it go and praise Jesus”. She preached and I worked. I left not knowing if she was crazy or just intuitive. I got to my next stop and realized she wasn’t crazy. Her words prepared me for what I was walking in to. We both like Al Green.
