I hope that they should make trade missions a natural progression from delivery missions, because it seems like a reasonable good way to prove your worth.
Yeah they already said they will scale up -- delivery missions, then outpost cargo missions, then distro missions. It's why outposts now have freight elevators with the 3.23.2 patch for small to medium cargo ships.
Roadmap roundup is good during the pre-evo droughts where we start finding out what's gonna be in said evo, but later in the patch cycle they're basically nothing. Also no Jake confirmed vehicles still not working with freight elevators. Classic CIG, late but still underdelivered.
Theyt said you'll be able to spawn vahicles from the new ASOP terminal in your hangar, and then spawn your ship, obviously it's not great but at least it's a nice workaround for the moment.
@@gankstrap Yeah but he was wondering if it was fixed for the elevators yet lol. It isn't. The workaround sucks anyway esp since it means we won't get the cargo missions for moving vehicles that the monthly report mentioned, no way those happen before freight elevators work fully.
All the things/features/items people want in SC will result in a program impossible to run on a commercially available computer, when this is all "finished".
how will instance hangars work when ie 10 people have a hangar 1, and the all want to exit it at the same time with their ship. Do they have to wait for each other, so 1 for 1 can exit the station?

@@gankstrap I meant the screen in the station when you ASOP Terminal ( as of now ) call your ship and it assigns you a hangar. Someone said it will only have your hangar listed there, or those of your party / friends
Regarding Rep, I hope that, SC being an MMO, they stop _penalizing_ you for grouping up. It makes sense that the money from a mission is divided between players, but when a mission description says, "find a ship, bring a crew" and then you get penalized for bringing a crew to the point where it's not worth doing unless you're solo... that's not fun or balanced. I could see a certain ammount of diminishing returns. Maybe the Tier of a mission is just simply for "n+1" players (the n being the Tier level, the +1 being the leader) for simple Merc missions. Then maybe "2n+1" for package retrieval missions. If your party is below the recommended size, you get a slight bonus to your rep gain, if your party is above the size, maybe a penalty around -5% for each member above the recommended number. But even then, I don't think your Rep gain should be so insignificant that it's effectively zero no matter how large a group you take.
I mean, given that the progress tracker is a lot further into the future they first need to have all teams planned out internally and given that they said that after 4.0 their end-goal is 1.0 (not meaning it is soon or that we get any dates/windows for it, just that the teams now get work to slowly build up to 1.0) they need to have a internal idea of what 1.0 actually is, what they need for it, in which order they want to develop it and then need to find the most immediate features based on all that and give them estimated timelines. I know it is very frustrating that the progress tracker takes this long but from what I can tell this is the most planning they have done since before 3.0 since once they hit 3.0 their next goal was 4.0 (all core tech up to static SM is complete) which they now have almost complete. Just think about how long they did nothing publicly between 2.6.x and 3.0 (I think that was a long wait, right. I am only on the project since 3.1). Also, as a first SQ42, second SC guy I am interested if we will get any progress tracker updates for SQ42 at all or if it will all be SC from now on and SQ42 has fully transitioned into a internal roadmap since I expect polishing (even just level-flow polishing) is much more reactionary and can therefore not be planned as well in advance.
And that right there is what I'm worried about. Devs that have left cig have said their internal structure is amess..most due to the fact content creation for sc was in a holding pattern
@@sosayweall2509 To be honest, I think we kind of knew that the internal structure of CIG is not the best over the entire lifespan of 3.x Why I am hopeful is because they need to restructure right now to get all SQ42 devs that transition to SC onboard which gives them the opportunity to improve their structure. In addition they also have gotten more managers over the last year which I think was badly needed since they expanded so much over the past few years (the CEO of Turbulant, Rich Tyrer coming over from SQ42, Benoit Beausejour), though unfortunately they of course also lost one with Todd Papy. How do cargo hauling missions work do you think? Because if you don't have to pay for the cargo, what happens if you get pirated? Pirate gets money out of nowhere or its not worth anything. Both sketchy. Which only leaves having to invest a lot of your own money to do these missions.
