I think everyone is happy you bought a more solid set of scaffolding!
Ain't that the truth!
Hear hear!!
He did say he was getting one so he can get to the roof
Finally! Stay safe Dan. ❤️🌺🫣
🥳Delighted!🥳
Finally a safe scaffold. We won’t have to cringe every time Dan tries to work at the top heights. Cheers
As he dumps of the truck probably damaging it.
I get heart racing chills him stepping close to and working near those gaps! I cannot wait until the floors are in!
@@Matthew-4114 yes i don't understand why he do like that, ladders one by one, need 10/15 minutes alone, the worst is that the welds can have crack now
What he said 💕🙏
Oh, I/we will still cringe because it’s going to be high and it’s Dan. 😉
I'm still recovering from the trauma of watching the scaffolding being "unloaded."
my jaw dropped and i couldnt believe what i was seeing =0
I was telling a friend of mine in France I have been watching this guy rebuild an old chateau. He said "the guy with the sketchy scaffolding"? Not any more....LOL
😄
😂😂💯
Good grief!! I thought the scaffolding was going to be wrecked even before you got to use it! 😂 you’re one in a million Dan ❤
I thougt so to 😅
Cringe offloading 😮🙈🙈
I was horrified!! Good grief! Look after your new toys man!!
Parts of it bent as it hit the ground.
It should all be inspected and the damaged parts removed for safety.
Professional inspection of the scaffolding before constructing for use in the chateau...definitely!
Dan, I am so happy for you, that you have upgraded your scaffolding. Congratulations, you are awesome.
Really - yes a safe scaffold for our "Dan The Man"! It's very commendable that Dan shows us the tedious grind he has to adhere to, slogging in and out, thru wind and rain, day and night with his creative camera positions:) I don't think many other vloggers would take the time to give different camera perspectives when they are going up and down ladders, carrying buckets of wet cement, etc!
Your right ! Being the soul worker in this project is enough to deal with for the average guy . He is a survivalist . His Wife has taken over the house he built and he could no longer use the Air B&B . If Dan didn't have this land he would of been Homeless . He is living in a Tent that is only intended to be used for a Weekend . I noticed that when his wife came to the place, she came empty handed . If a person comes to a gathering empty handed it is a good guess that they are on the take . She could of at least of brought Water . Dan could of stayed at that little Studio he built for himself as a place of refuge from the outside .
Yeah, instead of Vlogging, he should just call it Slogging. Crazy.
It is very unfair to comment like this. Dan and Annalise were never married, she is not his wife. As neither have commented publicly on their private situation no one knows what the story is.
Also we should all be mindful that what is said on You Tube stays forever and Dans children will be able to read these comments.
Dan does not and cannot film every second of every day. How do you know his ex partner showed up empty handed?
Idle speculation by his subscribers doesn’t help anyone.
Honestly. I’ve never known anyone who works as hard as you do. You are the original Duracell rabbit. 😮
don't you see videos of other chateau renovations? Many other persons are working really hard! The Petericks, Escape to the dream ,restoring the chateau, Cateau de la Fertè for example, years they are working
Ha ha ha here in the USA it's the Energizer bunny 😅
@@monteschiavo yes I do. I know they all work just as hard. Sorry if I offended you.
@@karensloman5787 not me but them, just be realistic
TIL....
Next time Nick is there with a digger, have him use some of your fill debris to make a little unloading ramp- the same height as your rental truck bed, a flat surface (maybe 8 feet by 10 feet?) to unload stuff onto, and a gentle slope down to ground level on the opposite side that you can use a moving dolly to move the unloaded items down.
Or, an earthen ramp that is truck bed height outside one of your chateau doorways (you can remove the ramp once you’re done with big deliveries). Watching the brand new scaffolding dump out of the truck uncontrolled was painful!
Agreed. I have a ramp like that at the farmstead. Amazingly useful for loading/unloading trucks, can even drive cars onto a truck bed with it. Watching that scaffolding get dumped hurt. I'd be surprised if there isn't some damaged to the scaffolding frames.
This sounds very practicable.
Absolutely. I just don't understand why that stuff cannot be delivered. I lived in France and just had a car, I had everything delivered from gravel to bricks, cement, large stones, electrical equipment. Didn't cost much. When your buying a lot , if its not too far to for it to be delivered it was free. So much time be eaten up having to go to the brico
@@lindaarmstrong5972every penny helps I suppose?
I have the utmost respect for what he's doing and has done and admire the care he puts into everything, but I agree that watching that scaffolding tumble to the ground and crash was baffling. Granted, unloading it by hand would have taken a couple of hours, but I can't believe he took a chance on this one.
😂😂 how the scaffolding came off the van I couldn't stop laughing !! Dan your a hell of a boy 😅😅😂
I was gritting my teeth the whole time. Lol.
Oh yeah, I winced and gritted my teeth too. Dan: *shrugs* It’s off 🤷🏻♀️
Hope you didn't bend any of the ends
I was in Shok watching him do it, but the way he described it afterwards, I was laughing so much, hope all is good, lol.
how ungrateful that someone would flick the dearly paid scaffolding to the ground like that
What's better than when Dan has a new toy?
And he breaks it straight away 😉
That's like my husband and I get a new car. In a week we will have a scratch.
Have you never heard of "Murphy's Law"?
It says " if something can go wrong then it will usually go wrong, at the worst possible time and in the worst possible way".
If you need a laugh you can google "Murphy's Law" and find posters that state Murphy's law and all the smaller sub-laws that apply. It's meant to be funny and ironic at the same time. Like the old song "there's a hole in the bucket". I hope you get a laugh from it. Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot
@@raynonabohrer5624but you won't scratch it by purpose......a scaffolding is a safety equipment. By throwing it like that the damage is done. Never never do this with such equipment.
BRAVO DAN, COURAGE
if they break that small, don't climb them at all.
I hope none of the scaffolding was too badly damaged in the fall from the truck. One of the poles looked a bit squashed!!
A highlight of my day is watching you work. The chateau will be epic because of your vision.
So great you finally have some solid scaffolding! I know you're part mountain goat, but the safer you can make it to climb around that place, the better.
Ha ha I like your comment 🤣👏
Time to call in the friends and get the base built !!! Have a barbecue with a tub full of iced drinks . You are doing amazing Dan . This is so fun to watch !!! Thank you for taking us along on this journey !!! 💖😀💖
Dan I am so happy you finally received the sturdy scaffolding. What a relief that is. We know your always busy even if you are not filming everything. Cant wait to see the foundation platform for the Yurt being built. I hope you are filming. Fingers crossed a few friends can help you build it. As always, great vlog and we will see you tomorrow. This is definitely one of my favorite channels on YT.
This IS my favourite channel!
You can do it Dan! I truly believe you could do anything that you set your mind to.
Dan the man that can - loving the updates that roof will be on in no time
Dapper Man 😁@@michelleknapp8686
Congrats on the much needed scaffolding!! That Yurt is going to be epic.
He dumped the new scaffolding out of the bed of the truck, flipping the entire packet upside down on the ground! 🫣 This hits somewhere between 'out of your flippin mind' and 'Cool!' 😂.
We are all so happy to see that scaffolding!! Even with all your trips to get supplies, you have been very busy this week. It is all starting to come together. Definate progress.
This Yurt business is going to be exciting, I have never seen one installed. Can't wait ❤
I saw one on Life Below Zero. Andy below Eagle, Alaska built one. He had a student helping to learn the subsisting life.
Well, that was one way of unloading the scaffolding. ❤️😂
You can’t fail to admire your hard work ethic and well your optimism. Good on ya Dan, you are a real example!
Don't you love the way Dan unloads trucks!! Just spill everything on to the floor!! Cracks me up every time LOL.
what a barbarian way to unload scaffolding, man
He’s an old pro, looks like he’s routinely delivered with such . . . . finesse 😂
When I saw you dumping your scaffolding off the truck like that I yelled out (as if you could hear me) "Dan, no!". Glad you have it but maybe not the best way to do that.
Suggestion, leave a hole in the middle of the concrete (yurt). When you take the yurt down, you can plumb a fountain in there. Landscape it out and add some benches. Gravel could stay right there then. Like I say, just a suggestion.
Blessings ~
No don't take it down, I want to stay in it when he starts the b&b.
Lol. I didn't think of that.
Dan, I am incredibly happy to see you have invested in some decent scaffolding, although I’m sure it must have cost you a ridiculous amount of money, but to us your safety is paramount. Hopefully you’ll get to bed before midnight tonight. Loads of love K🇬🇧❤️
Maybe he can sell it when he is finished. Worthwhile investment though.😊
pretty sure his brico guy said he would provide scaffolding in an earlier vid. I imagine this is gifted or loaned rather than purchased.
@@tonyanddeb1012from the way Dan allowed the scaffold to be dumped on to the ground…I doubt very much it’s in one piece…I only hope it isn’t totally damaged.
Hadn’t watched in a while…sadly he continues to sabotage his work 😢😮why?
to rent this thing for long term it would be definitely more expensive. After the use he can still sell it for good money
My admiration for those early builders increases with every episode.
Well thats one way of unloading! i suppose a strength test is always advisable.
Oh wow, I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I saw the first picture and it was proper scaffolding. Finally Dan.
I’m sorry but this old boilermaker welder spent many years of her life on scaffolding and I was concerned at times with your setup. So glad to see you be able to get the job done so much easier and safer.
The scaffolding is a thing of beauty.
It was, before it was dumped off the tip-truck!!
It's off..... yep... 😂😂Laughing so hard! There are never any half measures!. 😁😁😁
In the next episode we will be showing you how to repair damaged scaffolding🙄
Je ne manque jamais un épisode de votre super rénovation. C’est très enrichissant et l’énergie que vous y mettez est impressionnante. Bon courage pour la suite !!
Back & forth, back & forth .. and .. having to keep repositioning the camera .. I don’t know how you do it Dan Daily .. bravo 👏 And thank you ☺️
Now is a real French landmark. You can tell by the scaffolding.
It’ll be like the second Eiffel Tower 🤣
You may want to build yourself some sort of LOADING DOCK on one of the two front stairways-- something about the same height as your truckbed so you can walk things on and off without having to carry them up the stairs to get them in the building. Make it of timbers, to extend the landing out to the end of the stair at about truck bed height. Even if it's not level, you could either make it a ramp or reduce the many steps to just a few.
The delivery with the scaffolding is just like our local DPD driver 🤣
It doesn't matter whether Dan is on the day shift or the night shift, the restoration moving ahead in leaps and bounds. It's going to be an impressive home when it's finished.
Yay for a better scaffold!
You just love giving us all heart attacks don’t you!!!!
Of loading that scaffolding had me on the edge of my seat, hope the ends of the poles are still okay?
Absolutely love your confidence Dan, you will do the base for the yurt, once you have a secure place to relax and live we can all sigh with relief. Great you have your scaffolding 😊
Your a guy who loves living life on the edge. 😁👍🏻
Who else wishes he would build a temporary staircase to that next level ? I worry so much every time he has to carry something up that ladder ! 😣 praying hard he stays safe !
Yes you can Dan😅 you can!
Great news re scaffolding too!👍👏⭐️💪🐝
First viewer !!!!😊 loved how you unloaded your scaffolding !!! The sky is the limit!! Looking Good Big Dan!!! See ya tomorrow!!!😂from Sacramento, California USA 🇺🇸 🎉😊
Nice scaffolding! So much going on. Never a dull moment in your life. Thank you for sharing.
Clever to use the expanding foam as formwork, and simply pour the cement in on top. Brilliant
Fabulous 🎉news, Dan!! And it means you’ve reached another very important milestone in the restoration of the grand old lady! 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾
2:05 🤣 Wrecks scaffolding getting it out of the truck.
Looking forward to seeing you build the Yurt.
Dan is having the yurt constructed by the company, not doing it himself, leaving it to the experts 😊.
Smartest move yet! 🎉
If anybody can do it, you can Dan! 👍🏻 Rest well tonight, you have some very busy days ahead to prepare for your yurt. Take care 🇨🇦💕
Talk about holding my breath when you were unloaded the scaffolding!
Wow Dan, I would have roped the load for a controlled offloading. Expensive stuff scaffolding.
You can do it, Dan!!! If anyone csn Dan can!!! 😎🎶❤️
Wow, you‘ve cracked it, eventually you‘ve seen the light to get a proper scaffolding
Yup! That’s really not how your supposed to unload scaffolding! Lol
I love his confidence. „I can do it“, he says and three days later he’s standing in front of the perfect yurt base. Magic Dan. 😊
I am soo happy you finally have a safer scaffold. I have to admit though, when I first saw that large metal package, I was thinking "That's a funny looking yurt"!!!!😀
Courtyard flash back! I can't wait to see your yurt
Hey, Dan! Well-that was exciting! I can scarcely believe the scaffolding will go up that high! Whew! I’ll cheer from here, thank you. My legs would not work that high up! 😊. 👋🏼
Dan if anyone can work a miracle it's you we all got faith in you, keep smiling 😊😊
Dan is always smiling, he do a great job and very positive, 👍👍👍☘️🍀
🎉🥳 Woot Woot Dan!!! NICE scaffolding!!! Well worth the money!!! Good show!! Now I don’t have to worry about the other wonky one collapsing under you! CONGRATS!! 🎉🥳
Yay, actual proper scaffolding. Looking forward to seeing the Yurt going up as well
That new scaffolding you got sure is going to help alot when your going to need it.🙂👍
Good scaffolding! Yay! Very relieved. Have to say that when watching you rake out the gravel for the Yurt foundation, was suddenly having a flashback to you and the rest of the Lalande gang raking out the courtyard gravel. In your robes! It seemed strange seeing you raking gravel alone, albeit for a smaller area. Wished I could call the Lalande gang to help you and then you were done. :) Bravo! Can't wait to see the Yurt up and you in a comfortable home. You are getting a wood stove, right? Wondering about the water supply as well, but sure all questions will be answered. Carry on.
Safety at last! Look what you've done without proper scaffolding, now you'll no doubt be cracking on at warp speed! Can't wait to see the Yurt set up!
Re: the yurt base...You can do it! Yes you can! Dan can! :) Exciting times!!!! You got a lot done today! 👏
AHAHA I Yelled "Oh my goodness!!" When the scaffolding slid down and hit the ground flipping it all over!!! I'm surprised my hubby didn't come running to see what happened! lol
You are doing fabulous Dan! I am so impressed with everything you have done so far! ❤ ❤
That’s one way of unloading it !
That yurt must be huge! And per all the other comments, I'm glad you got stronger, safer scaffolding. I held my breath a couple of times!
Can't wait to see the views from that roof line...wow.
Dan, you truly make every day better. I, like so many others, marvel at your grit and determined work ethic. The new scaffolding will make your life so much better.
especially if it has a lift
Thank you baby Jesus. That is very very exciting to many watching.
Glad you have now got the new scaffolding. It's really all coming along. Well done!
I wait and watch each new video, for a person on his own doing most of the jobs , you are nuts , but I love it , the place will be perfect in the end , you don’t just do the job , you make the job perfect , I love it , I do need to come and visit 😊
Great to see new scaffold arriving, much respect to Dan for his hard work determination and dedication , pleasure to watch even better when using the safer scaffolding
LOL. Glad you you have a nice scaffolding.
Of all the injuries to the eye, among the most disastrous in its result is a burn, especially one due to the action of a chemical irritant, such as quicklime. It may result in adhesions of the conjunctiva, in opacification of the cornea with marked reduction of vision, and even in loss of the eyeball. Take extra care Dan.
Congrats on the new scaffolding! Finally something that will be stable. The yurt perimeter looks huge. That's going to be so lovely. Can't wait to see it done. The progress you are making is awesome!
Winter is coming!!! Maybe organize a viewer weekend to get more people to help you?
Glad to see ‘real scaffolding’ that makes you really happy. It is going to be so amazing when you finally set it up in the turret (at a later date). It was fun to see you playing in your zen garden with you zen rake. I have a feeling that the yurt platform is going to be very interesting to see you put it together. Thank you for sharing and stay safe!
Yes, yes, the newly improved scaffold big enough to reach the top. Dan the man.
So exciting, love the progress, can’t wait to see the yurt. Watching Dan is like the tv series that you don’t have to wait till next season for and knowing it’s got years ahead to come. Always watching. 😁
Dan. Thank you for your optimism. Thank you for the nearly daily videos. Thanks for saving a structure, that I myself would have driven past and heard “Save Me!” … and wondered how’d I actually do it.
If me just watching means you can keep on getting supplies, I’m in.
It’s the best 10-15 minutes of my day some days.
Anyway. I’ll watch you tomorrow.
Cheers!
Glad you got the proper scaffolding to make the future safer and easier. Thought the yurt might be the mystery arrival!
I can’t believe how strong Dan is, to carry those heavy pieces of lumber up a ladder and also those bags of concrete. He amazes me.
He's got "chef" upper body muscles
So many construction workers do that every day. You should get out of your room more. It's not that heavy. I'm in IT and I can carry that.
I don't understand why he doesn't use that crane type lifter he has been using before . Remember he kind of insuinuated Work smart, not hard .
@@gordonnadolni maybe because it's slow and he can easily carry the load, like many of us can.
Hi Dan!
I watch your channel all the time and I have really enjoyed watching you going at it to rebuild this chateau and the property it sits so nicely on.
It's a HUGE task that you took on but, it's a good thing for you and mainly your children and their children, etc...
I honestly have no idea if anyone has even said this to you yet or not but, I can not live with myself if I don't mention it. I am saying it because I genuinely care about your safety and well-being and the well-being of your family.
PLEASE double tie your shoe laces or knot them at the top lace hole you want the shoe laces in and cut off excess lace if you want to wear your shoes as slip ons.
ESPECIALLY when you're climbing ladders/scaffolding & just walking on beams while you're building floors and the roof on the castle.
Do it for your safety, health, and for you family please Dan.
I pray that the LORD surround you & your family in His holy hedge of waring angels of all rankings and divisions with flaming swords of holy fire all around, above, & beneath you all, your homes, your properties, your vehicles, etc... every where y'all go in Jesus MIGHTY HOLY VICTORIOUS name ABOVE ALL names.
I love you and your family in Christ Jesus. Have a wonderfully blessed day/night.
🥰🤗💗✝️💗🤗🥰

New scaffolding! Wonderful Dan🥰
The NEW scaffolding!! YAY Happy Days Dan!😃
YEAH nice scaffolding, was nce how much did you bend it.
That’ll be the warranty gone then ….
So happy to see safer scaffolding in your future!
Hello from PEI Canada. Hurray it arrived..
Being Safe is the Smartest Thing You Can Do!
So glad you finally got a proper scaffold. You amaze me every day with how hard you work and how much you accomplish with no help and no proper equipment.
The place is coming along fantastically!!! 🙂👍 She is coming back to life 🙏🙂👍❤️
that is a huge petanque field..
Glad you have safe scaffolding. That's if you haven't dented it😂❤
Yeah! I am very happy that you have good equipment. Your progress is phenomenal Enjoy the process because some day you will be done and you will look back remembering the experience fondly.
