I fell in love with this song back in 1974 when I was pregnant with our first daughter. My husband was a truck driver and we lived, briefly, in Colorado. My husband of 43 years has now been gone for 3 years and that daughter is now going to be 44 years old. This song still brings tears to my eyes when I hear it.

As we passed the fallow winter fields and pine trees along the way on that cold gray winter afternoon, I remember staring out the bus window somewhere around Aiken SC and began to hum 'Home Again' to myself. To my surprise and delight, the elderly lady seated next to me began to sing the words. I turned and smiled and she said "I'm on my way home too, and yes it does feel good". That was 41 years ago and it seems like yesterday.

My Mom taught me to play guitar when I was a boy. We lived in a farming community in a big house with nine kids. This was the first song I ever learned and performed in front of my family. Many times my Mom and I would sit in our old house with a fire softly burning, and supper on our cast iron cook stove singing this song together while I played. It shall always serve as a reminder to what what a loving old soul my mother was. I will never ever forget those special moments we shared...this song was written for us. Rest in peace Mom and thank you John Denver for bringing us this special song.

RIP Mr. Denver!! ♥In the early 70's my Dad bought a farm in Ontario Canada and he'd play this song often....sadly we lost Dad in 2013 but this song reminds me of all of my happy memories on that farm....thanks Dad ♥ Female back up singer is Patricia Hawke, sister of pro skateboarder Tony Hawke!!
I remember back in 1974 listening to this song while driving home from college at Thanksgiving break. I so miss those days. Thank you, John, rest in peace. You touched so many lives with your music.
Why did God take such
BEAUTIFUL person John Denver
Unfortunately We Will Never No 😭💔 He Better Have a Good Reason For Taken John From Us But No Reason Will Ever Be Good Enough 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔
Still amazing in August 2023!
And October 2024..
Oh that voice, that face, those songs ..................
Every time I sit and listen to John sing, the tears start in my eyes and I can't help it. What a horrible loss to mankind.
@Nomo Thank you so much, great minds think alike and good hearts do too.

I genuinely can't listen to this song without crying, I'm assuming anyone else who's no longer in the place they called home feels the same
I wish you were back home again.
Thank God we can still watch & hear John perform his wonderful music.
Amen..still listen every day.....Love.. 10/5/19
How lucky and blessed for those people whos watched this concert live............
Indeed...I think many of us regret not having made the effort to see him live. Guess we thought he would be around for a long time. How wrong we were and how sad.
Heroes die. Legends live forever
I don't understand who dislikes such beautiful song? 😕

To this day when I’m relaxing in my back yard and see the towering Cumulus clouds off in the distance on the Atlantic side of my valley it usually brings this song to mind.
John Denver songs always paint a picture in our minds! I loved his voice! There will be another like him!
that's for sure. My son and I would sing his songs while he played his guitar. Those were the days.
Mr. James Burton in the back playing his guitar........another gifted guitar man.
My first album. I played this until my parents were sick of it. Wonderful memories
I miss this dear gentle man every day, his songs were poems and pure perfection. I learnt to play 'Annies Song' on guitar when I was 12. Walk in paradise Dear John. You ARE HOME..........in our hearts. You would be shaking the world in 2021 with your songs, we need your light in these dark dark days.
Out of many favourite songs of his this has to be my absolute favourite. Beautiful lyrics conveying the best of human emotion and belonging. He was the best.
