Lyrics:
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go
And it's goodbye again, I'm sorry to be leavin' you
Goodbye again, as if you didn't know, it's goodbye again
And I wish you could tell me, why do we always fight when I have to go

No auto tune just pure talent
A man, a guitar, and a microphone. No fireworks, laser lights or distracting earplugs or outlandish costumes, or twerking. Pure talent!
Exactly 🙂
Yes, totally agree with you. From Italy
Absolutely Nobody Can Match JD 💔

Legend. My dad played him on the guitar when i was a kid. I liked it then, but now its different. My dad died when I was 16, I'm 58 now and love his music even more now. Such an under rated talent!
Goodbye Again, I wish we could see you again, John.
Einer der besten Sänger ever.

His country yodel/ vibrato voice is so unique
Is a beautiful song writer and gifted singer!💔👍🎶 I miss him! Rip
I actually got to sit in a small circle with John Denver and hear him sing this song back around 1971 or 1972. My father worked for RCA Records and Denver was the special guest at an employee family picnic that my Dad had organized. I remember my father said "we have a new artist we really like." He was unknown to most of us, but he was great in person. About a year later he did his Rocky Mountain High TV special and became famous.
Such an awesome memory for you I grew up in Huntington Beach Ca and remember the Rocky Mountain High TV special. He was a favorite singer of mine back then.
he was a wonderful musician and songwriter. how lucky were you!
Man that’s a great experience.
Yeah, man, I was a kid in 7th or 8th grade, John Denver was playing bars in Aspen, just about to hit. He had a teacher friend at Aspen Middle School and came and played in the school library for a group of about 30 of us (he was known for having written Jetplane as recorded by PP&M) and was excited to tell everyone he had been approached to record his first album, himself. You'd hear adults talk about him, that guy was truly loved in Aspen in that time (that was either the year or the year after Hunter Thompson ran for sheriff, which was also a crack up for a kid like me). Peace to you.
Thanks for sharing the memories
When I was born there was a heavy storm when the lights came back on I had two of two of the the most beautiful shiners you could ever see
This guy was a national treasure. It seems sometimes the good truly do die young. God takes them away and puts them next to him.
"The taxi's waiting, he's blowing his horn" is still what I think of sometimes when I take a taxi. 🚕
What a gift from God to be able to put your thoughts to music and play the guitar while you sing. I hope he knew Jesus!!
Impossible to watch this without 😢😭😭😭
July 4, 2024, Thursday. Philippines. John Denver! Years ago, my wife and I drove to the city to watch his concert. Maybe the greatest. For months, at night or early dawn, I listened to John Denver songs in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, while rushing my MSc thesis.
What an amazing minstrel, .
Un vrai Poète Musicien !!! ... un Ange reparti au ciel !!!
A man, a guitar, a beautiful voice and a lovely song. It doesn't come together often, but when it does it is pure magic. The why and how of it is mysterious, but we know it when we see and hear it.
What a voice ....
*I love his songs very much whoever is listening to this songs and you have come across my comment God bless you for me* 🥰😍
I was 17 years old when i hear his lovely voice an now i am 62 an still love to hear his voice , it give me happines in my live.
As a musician of 57 years, I can say that this guy was wonderfully talented. Why do the great ones have to go so early in life?
Add Jim Croce', Ricky Nelson, John Lennon and Buddy Holly!
God needs his musicians to perform in heaven
T I ask myself EVERY DAY???????????????
Yes
@@davidsafely732 And W.A. Mozart (1756-1791)
There will never be another like John Denver. A gracious, caring man with phenomenal talent. You know why very few others sing John’s songs? Because they can’t.
He’s the best. 😂❤🫶✌️💙🌺
Love you John . Pure love from his voice

How I miss you, John...
Very, very much...
What a genius. A true legend.
Every i hear this tears in my eyes 😢😢
Totally understand, I shed tears myself. This was the best of life, the music was from his heart and it touched our souls. I miss him
All his early and best music holds Annie in the lyrics.
John was of America's greatest song writers and performers of any era. His genius was being able to capture those moments that we all have experienced. The hiss of tires on a highway as we think of those back home; goodbye's at airports we say with moistened eyes, the peace we feel when watching sunlight sparkle on water.
It's almost a cliche, but John Denver was a poet. Perhaps not one like Yeats or e.e. cummings but one who could catch moments in life and put them to music that spoke to our souls.
Those of us who get this should feel blessed that we do.
Best song John Denver ever did.
Hello Ellen
You know his my idol cause his music is wonderful to hear
He not only had a great voice, but he composed the songs he sang! He was a performer for “all time and all generations”! The words are so passionate and meaningful. I always fill up when I listen to “I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane”. 🥰👍☺️
Jackie Mcmeekin some he bought from others. ;)
He also played piano!
also good on the eye
I'd never listened to John before I'd started seeing my girlfriend near 4 years ago, now I'm hooked lol I tell her weird facts about him all the time and she couldn't give one fuck 🤣🤣🤣
เวลาอยู่ก็เบื่ออลาตายก็เสียดาย
Just about to get a plane ;lovely song to travel with, Thank you John🥰

he leant to sing by yodelling
This song is the definition of his life: leaving on a jet plane
Sadly, of his death. RIP Denver..
I was so disturbed the day I got to know about that
What’s weird is he wrote this song 20 years before it he died
Incredible voice, real talent , beautiful and unforgettable music, always great live performances...John Denver, the perfection ! Forever in our ❤ John...from Italy 🇮🇹🇺🇲

Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather treating you over there,i hope all is well?
Yes 🙏
I was learning how to play guitar in 1992-1993, John's songs were the songs I used to practice and play, Thank you for everything and hope you are doing fine in Heaven.
Awesome, love John's music.
He was A Hell of a Man
No
He was a Real Man.
Godspeed Ya Magnificent Bastard.
May You Rest By God Himself
He and Sam Cooke are so underrated. Lord knows how great they would have been. Neither gets enough credit for how good they were. This is so beautiful.
He is in the same boat as Paul Simon, Niel Young, Bruce, etc. So sad.
I was brought up on John Denver’ songs when I was young , Shame we lost him in the tragic plane crash . Regards mark
Best Song Ever. Period
Absolutely Agree 💯👍🏻
The older you get you appreciate the brilliance of artists you wouldn't even think of
Most people don't have a clue just how deep John Denver was so good with writing.wrote Anne's song on a ski lift in 10 mins.others the same. A great pilot could fly his Lear jet along with his father Dutch..sea planes. If only he hadn't claimed aboard a plane some guy built in his garage..some say they tried to add fuel but John said I'll only be up for a while..some say he ran out of fuel..what a waste..RIP..john
Same here
True
Always appreciate John Denver, but yes indeed now a lot more
One of mt favs from my childhood days..... Still i listen in my fortys. Gr8 singers r legendary... ❤

I cannot believe the audience isn't singing to him
It's ashame people didn't show that man more respect before he passed.
John Denver I miss you 🌹🌻🌻🌻
R.I.P a great artist I did not know now I am sad
I miss him too
Tem dias que a saudade é mais hoje é um desses dias 💕31/1/2021💕🇧🇷⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What an amazing vocalist. His voice is a magical instrument. The guitar was the background music. God speed JD.
tears roll down whenever i listen to this version of leaving on a jetplane. i wish john denver were still alive and i could thank him for this song. the lyrics, the composition, the voice..far more than just a song!
He was a dazzling talent.
Hi,how are you doing at the moment?
My parents used to play his records, then his cassettes for me when I was little to help me fall asleep. My son is now four, and his music plays on loop for my son. My son tries to sing along, but doesn't know the words. My dad said I did the same thing when I was four. I'm so grateful I can share this with him. Five generations of my family loved this music, and with any luck: so will my son's children in time. The message is timeless, and needs to be remembered.
I was absolutely obsessed with John Denver and his music (Faaaar Out!) when I was a teen back in the mid-70's. Then, I used to sing quite a few of John's songs to my son at bedtime for many years... Now my son is a young daddy, and I hope he'll share some of John's amazing songs with his beautiful baby girl 💖🥰 Thank you, John Henry Deutchendorf, may you rest in peace, knowing that your wondrous music is still filling so many hearts! 💕
I discovered his music through my grandfather, he played Rocky Mountain High when we were coming home from a camping trip in the mountains. I instantly fell in love because the nature around me matched the music around me. I now know many John Denver songs and I want to share this wonderful music with my children and hopefully their children just as my grandfather did.
I fell in love with his music as a teen as well
Thank you will do same
We Love ya John 😉💕
I so miss you John RIP, can't believe that I'm crying.
His voice was even better when he was older.
So tender and beautiful. We need him back.
You can have him back if you scrape his carcus off the rocks of pebble beach
Love his soft voice. So sad he's no longer here😢
Every day I listen the wonderful John Denver......His music ,,,,,,his voice......RIP my friend God Bless You....3/12/20
How is there a single dislike? This man's voice is like fine wine on a velvet pillow surrounded by angels.
John i miss your songs why you must died so young i never forget you thanks for all your beautiful songs.
sooooo beautiful- i love this song
RIP john
25 years he died but still now in 2023
I listen to his Beautiful voice I am 64 now and till I died I shall always listen to your songs.
It was his last goodbye
This was my friend's favorite song, everyone sang it at her funeral. She died in third grade and I know she had meant so much to everyone.
This should have a million vews.!! A classic song for all millenia.
Nobody gets that these tunes are the lamentation of him going on the road and leaving the wife, Aspen, friends, and all the great worlds there.
I attended this concert. Hearing it again brings back wonderful memories. This man was a wonderful advocate for Mother Earth. He must be grieving so right now, seeing the way the human race has destroyed this earth even further. I will always have very fond memories of Mr. Denver.
I'm 18
Carol H. Van Norman that’s amazing
yeah, we should give authority to the UN
He is probably having tequila shots alright, because around the time he died he was caught driving around drunk multiple times and when he did die,... he was flying a plane, which was illegal for him at the time...
@@aleksnguyen5818 Do you feel better now? Always great taking a crap on someone else's memory. Good job!
I will never understand how so many idiots seem to live forever and a Wonderful, Sincere and Very Talented Man like this is taken away from the world way too early.
The lord didn’t take him, he took himself by flying illegally and then accidentally crashing
Add Jim Croce', Ricky Nelson, John Lennon and Buddy Holly!
