    ....Very Very Well-Done....Lots of time and effort spent sharing this 2-part series with your audience....Great attention-to-detail in all aspects....Not only the concise step-by-step layout and construction, but also the crisp video & audio recording, and the time-consuming editing....

    IMHO lag screws and blocking between the concrete blocks and stringers are like belt and suspenders. No harm, but probably overkill. Love that you are using reclaimed materials (I made a similiar woodshed using all reused materials--it's a woodshed in the woods so aesthetics were not critical). Not nearly as heavy duty as yours but it has worked great for five years now. Do you ever work your way through to that deepest row of firewood? EPIC Trickshot did not disappoint- NICE!!

    • @FrankDoesIt
      @FrankDoesIt  3 года назад

      Thank you kindly! Not typically, but we make it to the last row. That’s cool I’m glad you got to make one out of reclaimed wood too!

    Enjoyed watching both vids of the build. I built one a year ago behind the garage, next to the back fence, from salvaged fence panels, framed with treated 2 x 6's also from the fence, and a pallet floor and roof. Added a camo tarp on the roof and overhang. Used deck screws to assemble it. My total out of pocket cost was only for the deck screws.
    Think I am going to redo some of the anchor points with lag screws, to strengthen it. It survived a small tornado passing overhead about a month ago, and 60 mph winds this past weekend, but a bit more stability won't hurt it, I guess. It is 4 ft deep by 4 ft wide by 6 ft high at the front and 5 ft high at the back - it stores my wheelbarrow and wood for my firepit.

    Frank, fastenmaster makes a bolt called a thrulok that I've used and would work for a lot of projects where 4x4 posts are used. They work without pre drilling and are backed by a nut on the oposite side. Really solid. Your truly blessed with those kids. Great vids, thanks.

      @@FrankDoesIt Your welcome. Fastenmaster has a tutorial video on line for them. I used them for building a 4' wide 126' long raised bridge-pathway through the woods and over boulders to get to my waterfront. They worked great and saved me a ton of time.

    One more suggestion. My woodshed I put in a center divider so that you can completely empty one side. That prevents you from having some really old wood way at the back of the shed that perhaps you may never get to. Alternatively, it keeps you from having to empty the remaining wood prior to putting the new stuff in. Just a thought. Great project and well built, thanks for sharing.

    • @FrankDoesIt
      @FrankDoesIt  4 года назад

      Thank you for your support Patrick and thank you for your suggestion. The only reason I didn’t bother with it is because I usually burn this much in a cold winter and would pretty much empty it. However last winter wasn’t so bad and I didn’t burn the whole lot and your suggestion would work out good for me in that situation. Thank you sir!

  • @Quake81270
    @Quake81270 5 лет назад +2

    If you build a green wood holder make the back or one of the sides be able to open. Like make the wall all doors so you can rotate out seasoned or dry wood for more green. If you get laid up or if you have a really harsh winter a back 3 to 5 cords would be a godsend.

    Anyone, like me, who made the mistake of using screws on exposed horizontal flooring surface such as deck flooring knows overtime they disintegrate. However, since your shed is covered you would have been fine. The lag bolts will ensure your investment last longer. Anywhere you have a sheering force you will want to use a nail which you did when you used the hangers. Nice work! I subbed.

    Just seen recommended for you so I watched these two wood shed videos. Very good videos my friend, you taking suggestions from your audience and actually putting it out in another video is key to success. Not saying you need to do a complete new video on it but even acknowledging it during the next video will grow your audience. Stay true to yourself and your audience and you’ll have MANY FOLLOWERS!! Don’t listen or fall into the trap of the internet keyboard warriors out there as many of the channel guys/gals I follow have by getting into it with these types of ppl. They’re not worth it and only try and cause havoc on good ppl like yourself, probably because they’re not motivated or they don’t have a life to start their own. Great job, keep up the good work!!

    • @FrankDoesIt
      @FrankDoesIt  4 года назад +2

      Hey Dave, thank you so much for the well thought out kind comment! I appreciate everything you said! I really do care to connect with my audience and let them know that if I make a mistake, I will admit it... mostly because that’s who I am as a person, but also I would hate for someone to replicate my build and have theirs fall apart in a year because I made that mistake and didn’t tell them. I’ve had a troll or two stop by, but for the most part it has been great people such as yourself. I don’t pay any mind to the trolls, I appreciate the advice. Take care my friend!
