hmjs13 I like it, minus the gimmicky pop-up gear selector and the motorized vents. That's just something extra to inevitably break and cost thousands to fix.
benanderson89 Since when do the English know how to make good interiors? Cheap, cheap, cheap. And the rear of all new jag models is just embarrassingly bland. Poor effort.
I'll be the first one to say that I love German cars, the big trio Audi BMW and Mercedes, but I'm not that type of stupid fanboy who will bash anything that doesn't come from Germany. Going by looks alone I think this car is fresher than the A6, 5 series, and E Class.
+NikoBell12 wtf does that have to do with it being better?it s simply not better it s tehnology is way shittier so it s it gearbox and engine so who cares about it s freshness?
+Radu Vlad Jaguar uses the ZF gear box. That will be the same unit that Audi, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce and many others use! go and troll somewhere else.
derbigpr500 Well firstly because it's a new car BMW has been doing it pretty well since the 90's and yet along comes Jag, FINALLY with some money behind them and beats the supposed ultimate driving machines? Weird huh? Just goes to show how overrated those cars where all along!
It will take a timr before Jaguar reaches somewhat comparable volume sales of the 3 series, e-class and Q5 with their XE, XF and F-pace models, but they are certainly doing a good job with the new XE and XF models. The old XF was quite competitive, yet the sales were only fraction of its German rivals. It will take some time for the customers to get used to Jags models as an real option, but it seems Jaguar will finally became a volume brand. The new JLR owners really do know how to run a car company.
I have had two XF's, both 3ltr diesels and loved them both. The first was written off by a pillock on his phone, the second was traded in for my current XJ Portfolio. For my money the German offerings are not in the same league, but I might be a bit biased!
I have a 2011 XF 3litre diesel and it's been a wonderful car. No problems whatsoever and can be fairly quick when it wants to be. I will def be considering replacing with the newer V6 diesel.
I'm 38 and I find the classic Jaguar style (with leather and walnut) much more appealing. It had certain grace and dignity to it. While new models are certainly modern and very high tech, they lack that classic appeal.
C'mon guys, don't be tight on the reviewer he's a nice bloke just doing his job! Oh and read the stats yourselves, the XF second generation really is as good as a 5-Series on most if not all fronts.
Yassine Idbelaid Sponsored ? I don't think so. Biased ? Totally ! These British guys are so patriotic... But well to be fair american reviewers do the same, thing is no one complains haha.
sw1000xg the reviewer is obviously biased, all he was saying was it is very cool indeed very nice indeed etc, nothing specific, the design of this car, except for the front looks like an audi, the cabin doesnt look expensive etc
Looks good and drives brilliantly, also a bit more exclusive than a German rival - looks more aggressive now too. If the Mercs weren't a bit offset in RHD guise then they'd probably be my fav but until the new 5 series comes out I agree with this bloke
I own a used 2017 xf r sport, this car is absolutely stunning, i owned mercedes and audi, but from my perspective the xf is better, the comfort and the driving are perfect, it is a beautiful car and so classy
disgraceland uk Yea...no, it wasn't. It didn't ride as well as the E class or 5 series, yet it didn't drive as nice either. Interior was nice, but quality not up to the best, sound proofing wasn't as good, engines weren't as good, gearboxes damn sure weren't as good, it had less room inside, etc. Look, anyone who says XF has always been better than the competition is clearly someone who is just a delusional fanboy and actually know jack shit about cars. That' just how it is.
+disgraceland uk so what?I ve been in every one of them (e class,5series ,jaguar xf and A6)they weren t mine of course (A6 is in our family but the rest are of friends),and the jaguar was not better than any of them way shittier interior way shitier touch screen display, worse engine, worse space for passagers ,worse gearbox, better looks outside and the jaguar exclusivity,so who cares you ve owned one?I drive the A6 almost every day ,does that make it better than any other car ?
1:16 "Jaguar said headroom is very good, and knee room is very good." No need for Jaguar to tell you that. You were sitting inside the car!!! Never let this man review again!!!
The exterior driving shots aren't from auto express. The track drivers had helmets, the reviewer didn't. Sometimes the silver road car has British '15 plates, sometimes no plates, sometimes a random numbered plate. Shoddy
Where as the Germans are now starting to go fuzzy controls & many long contours/shapes/edges in their design, Jaguar's design is more modern & simple. Contemporary luxury is the best word I can find to describe it vs. the Elegance luxury like of Mercedes. Both the exterior design and interior layout speaks this to me. I was a fan of this theme when Audi employed it in the last A4 & A6, but their new ones left me a bit cold. I like where Jaguar is heading and it is a refreshing taste of where the Germans are heading.
It's like nobody was alive when this "family" design language started. It's been this way for decades upon decades on the luxury marques, yet people always mention "it look just like the bigger/smaller one!" every..single..time.
Jaguar is much better to drive than a BMW, Mercedes or Audi any day; it's a 'poor man's Aston' so to speak. It still has that bespoke quality about it.
Best looking car in its class? I think so. Not sure I'd pick the 2.0d version though. Thats kinda like having a Sunday roast with no meat. The V6 is where the enjoyment is at. If you're going to do it, do it properly.
That's the fucking Bull-shit with you UK auto channels ..when Audi makes a car ..here you come "All Audi models look the same " but when Jaguar, BMW & Mercedes do the same . All of their models look the same , you can't tell them apart you say it's a "Family Look" ..But when Audi does it ! You and your dumb-ass followers criticize.. Fuck-it All Jaguar NEW models save the F-Type which i really like , look's the same!
hmjs13 All marques carry design similarities across their ranges nowadays. What matters is the quality of the design. XE to XJ, Jag's designers are on a whole different level to their competition.
i've never been in a luxury car, but when people say its quiet, what is exactly meaning of this? does this mean you can't hear any road noise or are totally separated from outside?
bough my 3rd jag and its the last. nice cars but built to NEED a jaguar dealership to do ANYTHING to it but then the service from 'approved' dealers I have used had been appalling ( 6 weeks in and been 'advised' following a breakdown that dealer found 4,500.00 of work needed but still guessed at why I broke down !! The perfect dealer's car as they get the sale then the repeat business as it spends its life being repaired.
If you are building a 5-series, E-class and A6 competitor, please, PLEASE, make sure your boot lid, bonnet and front bumper line up alright with the rest of the car... (i.e. stop video at sec. 25 and 33 before your comments, seriously)
From the back in looks like an Audi. They should have kept the rear of the XF the same from the previous generation - it was beautiful! Now it just has an Audi-looking ass!
cars in this class are all about preference over actual performance capabilities...is far as I've seen most people who buy these car NEVER explore their capability.
Great interior and front end, unfortunately side line is very average and back end... well, really ugly in my opinion. I don't think following f-type back end styling is a good idea. Its easy to say that XF is better now. Need to wait till new 5 series and E class will be release next year. Looking at new A4, there's lots of hope in new A6 either.
Not as nice as 2012 facelift, the full length bonnet looks so much better and my own personal thoughts are that the interior on the newer model lacks original quality. 2012 3.0 diesel facelift model was the finest XF after launch in 2007
I like the piano tune in this video very much. It has a slick of magic to it and makes the product more refined more legend and gives it more soul. The only problem is... The voice of that guy damnnn iritating. He talks tooo much for this tune. I like the bold guy for Xcar better for these kind of scenes.
I think it's badass, but I just think they kinda of messed it up for xe with the design it exactly the same and it would of been better by making more of a difference
Much much nicer looking than the competition. It prob wont handle as nice as a BMW although no doubt softer as he said which in the real world may make more sense. Oh, and nicer people drive jags than German cars.
I've never heard the word indeed, so many times in ~6 minutes. And how come he'll talk about some aspect of the car like it's in a league of its own, then say it's only "a little bit" better than a 5 series in that area? Other than that, solid review.
Big thumbs up for Jaguar for moving in the right direction, but it has some way to go to be considered a class leader. This ''Review'' also does not help to understand where this new XF positions as there doesn't seem to be any negatives on the XF - nothing is perfect.
The seats in all Jaguars are so hard! Look at 1:04 when he sits in the rear, there is no softness in the seat at all! Feels like you are sitting on concrete....I know that because I experienced this myself with the previous gen facelift XF! It looks like the same story for this car....I go for BMW!
Comes across very down-market, I'm afraid. And the review is so glowing you would think he was getting paid on the side by Jaguar. Class leader? Seriously? I think not.
Am i the only one who actually likes the interior? it looks very minimalist, i like it.
hmjs13 I like it, minus the gimmicky pop-up gear selector and the motorized vents. That's just something extra to inevitably break and cost thousands to fix.
hmjs13 Other reviewers have pointed out cheap feeling plastics. The Brits will never learn...
ToxicDonut81 Ever been inside a new Jaguar? I recently test drove an XE and its beautifully done inside. Not a single cheap plastic to speak of.
benanderson89 Since when do the English know how to make good interiors? Cheap, cheap, cheap. And the rear of all new jag models is just embarrassingly bland. Poor effort.
ToxicDonut81 I'll take that as a _"no I've not been inside one"_, then. :)
Had my XFS for a year now and found it to be the best jaguar I’ve ever owned. A truly beautiful car to drive
Thats not saying much...is it better than a G30 5 series?
that same piano tune repeated countlessly in the vid is tiring and fit a horror movie than a car review
Reminded me of Twin Peaks
Haahahahaah
The transitional piano music used in this video is bad. Get rid of it.
+Kayserili38ification I agree, It's almost Bond like sounding music!!!
+lawlerzwtf The music is fine, they just used it over half a dozen times.
true, thought this gonna be a bond trailer.
You dont buy a jag because its the best in its class. You buy a jag because it is a jag.
Radu Vlad
Stfu
+Radu Vlad Jaguar uses the ZF gear box. That will be the same unit that Audi, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce and many others use! go and troll somewhere else.
The piano tune between each cut is a bit creepy.
hahahahahhahaa
Its bondish
Piano out of tune is more like it
Jaguar was always better than merce bmw and audi and is better and will be better
agreed from a jag xf owner..
Hunar Aggarwal this is your opinion but not the fact
the new XF looks sooo beautiful!!!
I swear all these new sedans are much nicer inside and out then the BMW 3
Jaguar is without doubt the new king of the road, they have raised the bar to an even higher level with this beauty.
I love my 2010 XF! Jaguar in my opinion is burning the competition as far as design!
i shall wait a proper on board computer review from Brian Cooley, as he does get into it in more details, but for the rest, you did a great job
LOL what. why. ah i dont care.
#Free Gucci Brian Cooley is the best car reviewer in the United States.
Sid Acidic Oh yeah, another Cooleyian! *high five*
Sid Acidic Cooley is a moron and a true car enthusiast doesn't give two shits because the "board computer", as you call it.
i only favor Cooley in the tech review department, but overall his car reviews are not that bad so i have to disagree on your moron part,
With such great cars like the new XF, the XE, F-pace and F-type, Jaguar should be selling 300.000 per year.
Good review, I like this guy. And the car, as well. Love the aggressive looks.
Jaguar is trying very hard Keeping up with the Germans, but just not quite there yet.
Ruozhuo Li Well considering the XE just put it's rivals from Merc and BMW to shame...
sw1000xg I wonder how a car that is barely as good can put them to shame.
derbigpr500
Well firstly because it's a new car BMW has been doing it pretty well since the 90's and yet along comes Jag, FINALLY with some money behind them and beats the supposed ultimate driving machines? Weird huh? Just goes to show how overrated those cars where all along!
derbigpr500 Have you seen Motortrend's Head2Head between the XE-S and the 335i? Because the Jag spanks it in every category except fuel economy
Frank F it was an American 335i... in spain, it was strange.
It will take a timr before Jaguar reaches somewhat comparable volume sales of the 3 series, e-class and Q5 with their XE, XF and F-pace models, but they are certainly doing a good job with the new XE and XF models.

I'd drive that...but I'd leave that guy at the side of the road...
I have had two XF's, both 3ltr diesels and loved them both. The first was written off by a pillock on his phone, the second was traded in for my current XJ Portfolio. For my money the German offerings are not in the same league, but I might be a bit biased!

It does look amazing, well done to Jaguar's design team.
You're wrong about the rear suspension, the XE has the same setup as the XF, mainly the multilink "Integral Link".
6/10 not a Ssangyong Tivoli ~ This reviewer.
it looks quite good !!! I'm waiting more for the F-PACE !!!
I never get tired of hearing jaguar reviews
C'mon guys, don't be tight on the reviewer he's a nice bloke just doing his job! Oh and read the stats yourselves, the XF second generation really is as good as a 5-Series on most if not all fronts.
this guy should be reviewing haircuts...
He is a Reptilian but dont know what brand
Picking mine up later today. I can't wait !
Are they reliable?
Ask me again in a few months time. But I do love the XF, it's something a bit different and really does shift!@@jamesdillon637
A sponsored review?
I think so
Yassine Idbelaid A butt hurt comment?
+sw1000xg more like a "curious" comment.
A very good car?
Yassine Idbelaid Sponsored ? I don't think so.
Biased ? Totally ! These British guys are so patriotic... But well to be fair american reviewers do the same, thing is no one complains haha.
Jaguars are stepping up their game but still, for sheer driving pleasure a bmw can't be beat
sad part is, BMW and Mercedes will still be on top in terms of sales numbers :(
I guess it helps keep Jaguar a bit more exclusive, I for one wouldn't like to see a Jag on every corner. It would reduce the appeal a bit.
Nathanael Corrales because they are actually better, this review is very british biased ;)
gianhet So when a car is actually better than the Germans it's biased? LOL GTFO troll!
BoschExxcel I agree, but you have to sell to stay in business, which is what you and I want haha
sw1000xg the reviewer is obviously biased, all he was saying was it is very cool indeed very nice indeed etc, nothing specific, the design of this car, except for the front looks like an audi, the cabin doesnt look expensive etc
the whole car looks amazing, especially the headlights
It is also made in the UK helping employment and helping balance of trade and the R Sport is worth consideration.
Im a bmw owner 330xd i love my car but last week i bought XFS its a different story..
Interior has got nothing on Audi or BMW imo
gamertanafc lol BMW interior is shit. Mercedes-Benz is far better.
Snakebloke BMW's interiors aren't shit they are much better now in the new models but I agree that Mercedes-Benz makes better interiors.
Snakebloke you obviously never owned a BMW, at least a new BMW
Explain to me thoroughly why you think BMW makes shit interiors?
CJ D My dad has a BMW X5, 18 months old, the interior is shit. It feels cheap and tacky compared to the Mercedes I drive. He said so himself.
I'm sure the Jag beats all its rivals hands down and blindfolded
American Journalists make a biased review, no one bats an eye.
British Journalist makes an optimistic review, every one loses their mind !
I love this guy, he is wonderful, also the car is very impressive, I never thought Jaguar could make a car like this.
XF has always been better than it's competition.
disgraceland uk Yea...no, it wasn't. It didn't ride as well as the E class or 5 series, yet it didn't drive as nice either. derbigpr500 I've owned one, so there goes your theory, moron.

No need for Jaguar to tell you that. You were sitting inside the car!!!
Never let this man review again!!!
He speaks as if his mouth was full of spit.
The front is really good, probably best in class. rear looks dated, I prefer the old interior!
i agree with him...jaguar is just on fire!!!
FYI the XE also has the same suspension as the XF
The exterior driving shots aren't from auto express. The track drivers had helmets, the reviewer didn't. Sometimes the silver road car has British '15 plates, sometimes no plates, sometimes a random numbered plate.
Shoddy
Dad got a XF last year. I think the old gen interior looks better.
I would have this car over the Germans any day. A Jaaaaaaaaaaag is just superb.
The design is too similar to the XE I think, same problem with the C-Class / S-Class. Except that, it's a beautiful car.
No not good, I'd rather have a Ssangyong Tivoli 😍
I didn't realise the CEO of Ssangyong was here, hello Sir!
Drew M Hahaha
Jaguar XF vs Ssangyong hahhahaha
Front looks great. That rear-end though... How did those rear lights get through the boardroom of designers with any sort of praise????!!!!!
Looks good but got very tough competition
Can't wait for the XFR
Where as the Germans are now starting to go fuzzy controls & many long contours/shapes/edges in their design, Jaguar's design is more modern & simple. Contemporary luxury is the best word I can find to describe it vs. the Elegance luxury like of Mercedes.

The darker colour is really cool
The music was creepy did he record this in Transylvania ?
Why can't we have the diesel in NA?? All that beauty with efficiency too? Fantastic package.
That camp southern English accent is a total embarrassment, hope non Brits don't think we all talk like that!
that C pillar looks like a 2000s subaru legacy for me other than that perfect design
In looks department it already beat BMW, E-Class and A6.
how are people saying this looks dated? it looks amazing to me especially next to a bmw.... the whole range you wouldn't look twice at.
It's like nobody was alive when this "family" design language started. It's been this way for decades upon decades on the luxury marques, yet people always mention "it look just like the bigger/smaller one!" every..single..time.
XE also does have integral link @ back . Jag put it in XE first
Jaguar is much better to drive than a BMW, Mercedes or Audi any day; it's a 'poor man's Aston' so to speak. It still has that bespoke quality about it.
Give the V6 the F Type's exhaust and I swear it'll be my next car.
Best looking car in its class? I think so.
Not sure I'd pick the 2.0d version though. Thats kinda like having a Sunday roast with no meat.
The V6 is where the enjoyment is at. If you're going to do it, do it properly.

ki flex WAAAH! WAAAH! Dry your tears, Dorothy.
ki flex Can you translate that into English for me please? I don't speak moron.
Snakebloke no bitch
ki flex well to be fair, he did point out that it looks very similar to the XE at the beginning of the video..
hmjs13 All marques carry design similarities across their ranges nowadays. What matters is the quality of the design. XE to XJ, Jag's designers are on a whole different level to their competition.
i've never been in a luxury car, but when people say its quiet, what is exactly meaning of this? does this mean you can't hear any road noise or are totally separated from outside?
What colour is the S model on the track in this video ? Black or dark grey ? Rgds
if jaguar had the old styling at least it would look different to the other brands….
so the vents will go before the a/c compressor or the compressor go before the vents?
Diesel? Co2? Miles per Gallon?
Perfect review, and a perfect car for people who hate cars..
129p
The only thing I liked about Jag is its looks, now that same basic look has been over 10 years. The S-type still looks better imo
Remind me of that guy who used to be a presenter on top gear, now does some shitty warranty advert. You're like him but definitely better, nice review
bough my 3rd jag and its the last. nice cars but built to NEED a jaguar dealership to do ANYTHING to it but then the service from 'approved' dealers I have used had been appalling ( 6 weeks in and been 'advised' following a breakdown that dealer found 4,500.00 of work needed but still guessed at why I broke down !! They need to go back to more leather and wood. makes it more classy

Not as nice as 2012 facelift, the full length bonnet looks so much better and my own personal thoughts are that the interior on the newer model lacks original quality. 2012 3.0 diesel facelift model was the finest XF after launch in 2007
Does it have wifi or hotspot in the car
Jim Carrey should parody this guy.
i wanted to see massive drift at the track.. but it seems to be good on the road
I like the piano tune in this video very much. It has a slick of magic to it and makes the product more refined more legend and gives it more soul. The only problem is... Very very good Holden/Valxhall commodore/omega.
Much much nicer looking than the competition.
It prob wont handle as nice as a BMW although no doubt softer as he said which in the real world may make more sense.
Oh, and nicer people drive jags than German cars.
XF 2010-2012 5.0L NA engine. 385hp . torque torque torque
I have that Jaguar and there is no way more room than an E class or A6
I've never heard the word indeed, so many times in ~6 minutes. And how come he'll talk about some aspect of the car like it's in a league of its own, then say it's only "a little bit" better than a 5 series in that area?

This is what a jaguar would look like if you stripped it of all class.

+Riiiisc In the BMW you will have to sit bolt upright and sideways.
***** What? I don't understand what you are saying. I own an M-Sport 3-Series....the best car ever to be honest!
+Riiiisc E class has the best seats by far, especially in the back anyway. Slightly reclined and its the only car ill ever sleep in
Comes across very down-market, I'm afraid. And the review is so glowing you would think he was getting paid on the side by Jaguar. Class leader? Seriously? I think not.
Where is Mat ??? :(
Damn, why did you slam that rear door so hard?
I couldn’t care one bit about CO2 emissions.
