Mac Jones has his issues but let’s not give the organization a pass. The pats organization did as bad as they possibly can to score any development Jones had.

Patriots need an infrastructure to support a young qb. If they do take a qb, they NEED to sit him. Otherwise they will ruin him. Trust me, as a Bears fan We have done this to countless qbs lol luckily we seem to have learned our lesson this time but the Pats would be better off trading back for Joe Alt and multiple picks

Fields is a terrible QB with the slowest processing in the league. Worse than multiple backups. Bears didn’t ruin him. They gave up on Trubisky…who was better than Fields! If Fields was white, the media and people would talk about him like a Zack Wilson
@timothycorcoran3613 the Patriots literally don't have a LT on the roster. So I think you play Brisset for 6-8 games and let Maye watch and learn and then make the switch at the bye week.
This is no sense. If any team drafts top 5, unless you have an established QB, or theres a monster pass rusher on the board, you got to go QB, is just a position value thing.

I've never seen people make a mountain out of a mole hill so much in my life. It's a no brainer! Take the QB that falls to you probably Daniel's. Play Brissett sit the kid and develop him build the team with this years draft and next years draft. The defense is already built keep it together and add a few pieces. Don't forget their are already some good rookies from BB last two drafts that will be veterans now and a lot better. This team really only needs Offense if the defense doesn't perform that's on Mayo all this team needs is a franchise QB and some offensive weapons stop trying to make them out to be the sisters of the poor.
If their qb they like is gone they must trade back get a qb later in draft it wont be the one they wanted but they will be better off with more players to make up for it
Moving back in the draft to get an inferior quarterback rarely works out. The only way the Patriots do that is if they do not believe in the quarterbacks available at three. A rebuilding team with a need at quarterback should always take a potential franchise quarterback if they have the opportunity to do it.
Can someone explain to me what is so good about Maye? I’ve watched a ton of film on him and I just can’t see it. He is inaccurate and inconsistent

Drake Maye and JJ McCarthy are both overrated. Patriots should be happy trading out then getting actual value with Penix or Bo Nix later.
You would be making the same exact mistake as the Jets if you draft a QB . You need to build the line and find playmakers before starting a rookie. Should probably take Maye or Mccarthy and have hom sit a year

If they could trade back and get someone like Nix or Penix and get extra picks to fill all the holes in the team, I think it would be a good idea.

Patriots need elite offensive linemen, receivers. The top three receivers, Brock Bowers, and the top few offensive lineman are all safer picks than the third best quarterback. Patriots can draft a developmental quarterback in the second round instead of over drafting Drake Maye.
Unless you can somehow get two top ten picks it makes little sense to trade back. Maye is a very good developmental prospect. His accuracy that everyone rages on is nowhere near as bad as people say. It’s on par with penix who we would take in your scenario

1. our #3 pick won’t start this year 2. mac confidence is non existent right now 3. even if we draft a wr we still won’t be playoff caliber unless we draft pro level instant oline starters in the 2nd and or 3rd rounds which is highly unlikely this team is in a REBUILD state so like it or not we are trying to find a franchise qb mac wasn’t going to be that ever
