Oh my!!!! I'm 75 and have, for the entirety of my life, wished I could yodel! I've bookmarked this and am going to keep coming back and back and practicing and maybe I can manage to pull off even a half-way decent yodel by the time I die! THANK YOU!!!
Yodeling comes from the shepards of the Alps in Switzerland and Austria, who were up high in the mountains with their cows, sheep and goats. Yodeling in Texas seems so out of place ... but in a way it is nice that you keep up the good vibes there.
Having gone to high school in the mid-70s, listening to Black Sabbath, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd Etc. I don't know how I got here, but enjoyed it and put a smile on my face, thank you!!
Thumbs up for every artistic performance, no matter if I like it or not! This one was a good mix of Tyrol and American country music. Sounds good and unorthodox. Thank you!
Was in the station bar in Grindewald, (at the Eiger) and I noticed a little statue with german writing with "Jodel" amongst it. I asked the waitress and yes, it was a local jodelling trophy. Within seconds, two or three guys were jodelling quite happily. It's NOT the best beer drinking music available...But, The locals seem to like it.
I met Sourdough Slim when he performed for a couple of years at the Plymouth Fair. He is alot of fun to be around and listen to his music. Slim is a definite showman. Bonnie (CA)

I used to be able to yodel until I got kicked in the throat. Not everybody likes yodeling. But my neighbours did... when I was first learning to yodel they'd smash my windows so they could hear better.
It is the Hawaiian guitar after all, but it’s more comfortable in a country setting since the 30s. Most people don’t recognize that, because of spongebob
I saw sourdough slim with 8th Avenue String Band in the pizza parlor on the North End of Chico up in California in 1979, maybe it was the Old Navy inn I don't remember
Get yourself a copy of Riders in the Sky "Three on the Trail" - and listen to the song "That's how the yodel was born", written by Douglas B. Green (also known as Ranger Doug, the Idol of American Youth, one of the finest western style yodelers on Any stage. ) and listen until it make sense. You'll get there.. Good luck.

Hello. how are you doing over there?
You can't get a more country and western name than Sourdough Slim. No where else in the world does that name exist.
Hes a real American.
This puts a smile on my face....
This guy is a proper comedic singer... more rare these days.
Used to be popular in folk clubs in Scotland and such.
Great!!!!! Greetings from the Blackforest in Germany!!!-
And greetings from soughern Ireland at Octagon House, perfect for Yodelling!
I am from bavaria the home of yodeling… and i say … this guy is a real bavarian
I believe Sourdough Slim is a bodhisattva who has found the true wisdom and happiness and is generously sharing that bounty with us.

My momma use to yodel when I was young. So miss it.
Brilliant. Five minutes to show how easy it is...then ten minutes learnin' ya how difficult it is.
Not difficult. Just the variations of the main phrases.
The world needs more yodeling.
Agreed
Yodeling sounds great
I've been learning hoosierhiver. Let me know what you think! ruclips.net/video/a6vDFSw5IqI/видео.html
I'm actually practicing yodel and have got very far. I agree that the world needs more
I agree. I love a yodel!

Great act. Good guitar & vocals. Excellent steel guitar player.👍
Mr. Slim is great to hear and see live. Lots of fun. He is a seriously good musician.
Glenn Johnson Grew up on this music and still yodelling today.Love this!!
Oh boy, now to get that one out of my head.
Brings back memories of my dad who did a lot of yodeling 😊

I first heard that back in...about 1964, when I was 8 years old. Ah, nostalgia.
lmao I just got my wife with this one. hahahaa

Great to hear Sourdough in Heber City Festival This year Oct 2019.
That melody man thoe...straight fire🔥
I used to practice my yodeling on my motorcycle so no-one could hear me. That was back in 1996 and I'm still yodeling!
Love it. Reminds me of childhood. Listening to the fellows on the back porch.
Hello. how are you doing over there?
I used to be able to yodel until I got kicked in the throat.
Not everybody likes yodeling.
But my neighbours did... when I was first learning to yodel they'd smash my windows so they could hear better.
At least it's music, and it's not noise like rap crap,
Raymond Doucette hey finally someone that uses the same term as I do with that so-called music.
Excellent humor.
can't beat good neighbors!
Thank you for lighting up my day.
Original humour is the best!!!
I am really enjoying your performances and am actually trying to learn how to yodel. Thank you.
Did you ever learn to yodel?
Fantastic! So skilled, and very funny ...just got to wait till the wife goes out, and I'll be trying it out.
This talent is sensational, the overall show is attractive
German music+ fallout new vegas+ spongebob
He did it
I too thought of spongebob
Wonderful! America needs more yodeling.
Just Love the Dobro, very well played.
He played way too many notes flat! He's no Jerry Douglas.
Dobro and steel are the best instruments ever!!
I LOVE that... You cannot trust anyone who does not like yodeling.
agreed!
I've lost many a friend to the yodel. Anti yodelers don't belong in my life
I cannot listen to someone yodel without getting a great big grin on my face.
Absolutely brilliant 🤩
In the 70's I went spent a lot of time at Stabiles, a country night club. Their singer Ann Marie would do the yodeling song. Loved it.

Dang ... Yodlin' is the FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH!!! I'm 74 and when I do it I sound like bustin' through puberty again.
Excellent performance and a nice tribute to WC Fields, too.
with a bit of Edgar Buchanan too!
@@expediter99 Edgar Buchanan drew upon Field for his role in "Petticoat Junciton."
Anyone else think he has the same comedy presentation style as WC Fields?, he is a great old pro, amazing
I have seen him live at the Draft Horse Classic in Grass Valley, CA.
Great performer and performance!
So Cute! Thanks Rodney Meade ❤❤

I too have always wanted to learn to yodel, for my digestive system of course.
All those who thumbed down on Slim must be Rap infested bangers.

I'm a new yodeler. Practising a lot. Yes, I agree, just keep going.
The dog looks at me funny when I practice at home
fun fact - yodeling started in 1689 when an old man was singing on top of a mountain and got struck by lightening
Can lightning strike twice and bring him back to bluegrass?
😮
I got a little light headed there at the beginning.
New dream: learn to play that cool instrament that old man was playing
square neck dobro. I had one for a while. I use a 3 string cigar box now for that type of playing.
Hello. how are you doing over there?
Why am I thinking of the Mountain Climber on The Price is Right now?
My cat runs and scratches at the door to go out when I practice.
lol
Cats run from me in general, though I'm happy for it, as I'm highly allergic
