So much for traditional Americans having little culture .... Torrents of free-flowing, absolute talent, scenic presence and musical mastery, sweeping aside all sluggish detractors at a neckbreaking velocity. Finest gentlemen, making everybody within earshot as happy as it possibly gets. May you keep gigging like this forever. Thanks from snotty old Europe.
They are all-around...nice singing spiced up with yodeling, and the band sounds tight...guitarist displays first-rate both flat and chicken picking. God bless America, greetings from Havana.
Wylie played a Christmas party in Sheridan, WY that I attended. I loved the music and even better, the next morning at Cowboy church, I sat next to him then got to hear his testimony. He is a gentleman and makes everybody around him smile. Genuine people are rare.
I've known about Wylie for some 20 years. I remember watching his Wild West Show & I have a cassette with his greatest hits. Love his voice! Not found anyone who can perform like him. A true singing cowboy with lots of love in his heart 🤩. Jimmy
How do you find the Baritone of Matthew from the band "Southern raised", that guy is great too, more than great, he is awsome! Type into the search line e.g. "wayfaring stranger southern raised" and lean back to feel the goose bumps running down your back! ;-)
I am from Montana and cannot wait to go home again....Thanks for the song, The music made me smile and then cry from being homesick ....just seeing someone really from there.Thank you! I love yodelling and particularly love cowboy poems, stories and songs
It's been years since I rode around with cowboys and the dances we participated in, which were always accompanied by cowboy music bands, AND THIS ONE IS ONE THE BEST i HAVE HEARD IN A LONG TIME !
My mom is the neighbor to his family here in Montana and he is a great yodeling man and singer. Known for his voice and style here in Two Med thanks for sharing
It's like good old 1800 cowboy music the way it should be!! I just found him about 2 weeks ago he popped up on Pandora while I was listening to Dave Stamey and the song was 16 Hands.. I melted
I was lucky enough to meet Wylie and the boys at Robert's Western Wear in Nashville in 1996. Wylie's enthusiasm for yodeling inspired me to learn and I've been yodeling ever since. John, West Australia.
My wife and I fell in love dancing to Wylie's band The Talk in 1985 in Billings, MT as they perfectly covered Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" and other hits of the time. Besides The Talk's original songs we STILL listen to ON CASSETTES! Blue Radio is still one of our couple-favorites. So happy the YT algorithm brought me this video by surprise. I can't wait to share this with her. Wylie and our memories of those days keep us young at heart forever.
Whoaaahhh...I am thrilled almost lost my brain, speechless and awed. Wonderful yodel skill, beautiful music, lively performnce, almost flawlessly presented. I wish to hear this live and in person one day. Wish you all the best; happiness and success, which I believe you alreadu have by now, in that case I wish you more of it. The best, always the best.
I've sang with Scotty Wilburn backing me on fiddle, great musician loved to hear him play. I've loved listening to Wylie from the first time I heard him sing Cattle Call.
🇺🇲 1950's King of the Cowboys Roy Rogers (and many other Western Intertainers) included Yodeling in their musical performances but none as beautifully as this young performer!
Wylie, you have been my inspiration since we met at Robert's Western Wear(Nashville) in 1996. You drove me back to the Opryland hotel at 3am! I have been yodeling ever since and am doing my bit to keep yodeling alive here in West Australia! Loved hearing you sing this again, one of my favorites of yours! Keep yodeling my friend! John.
@@saddleupwiththefarmerandad3607 We had quite a few yodelers back in those days. Rex Dallas and Tex Morton come to mind. Shirley Thoms also was a great yodeler. Owen Blundell and Laura Downing are two well known yodelers who are still performing.
Just watched Wylie and the Wild West in Utica MT at the newly refurbished Utica community center about a half hour ago. Great show as usual. Had Sam Platt with him on guitar and steel.
I used to know Wylies brother Eric when I lived in Great Falls. He was talented as well. I was fortunate to meet Wylie through Eric and have been a fan ever since.
I first saw Wylie on CMT in the early 90s. I did not hear any of his stuff on regular radio. Several years ago I went to his show at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko and since that time I can't remember who any of my favorite artists were.
Small town boy from Montana, he wore a red bandana With a guitar always close at hand Led by his intuition, he had but one ambition To become the greatest yodeler in the land You could find him in the streets in the alleys and the bars Correcting and perfecting his tune The towns folk just laughed, turned their backs He was the local yodeling fool He practiced every day he practiced every night His song seemed to be his only friend One day he disappeared and the townsfolk cheered, "Hooray, we'll never have to hear him again" No longer in the streets and the alleys and the bars could you hear his Lonesome tune For the boy had gone and taken with him his song of The local yodeling fool One day farmer Bill had his truck parked on the hill With his radio blaring across the town Who should he hear coming in so loud and clear It was that local yodeling clown It was heard in the streets and the alleys and the bars A voice that rang so true They heard that shout and they new without a doubt It was the local yodeling fool
im in half leg mean my left leg like a broken and when im listen to this music i can dance and not feeling any pain what the magic this song make me feel like superman :D
Gavin, would have loved to have seen Slim Dusty live. Too bad I didn't discover him until just a few years ago. Not taking away from this guy, but Slim was the true "KING".

I don't recall where I first heard this song as a kid. His voice and the lyrics are so enjoyable! Love this vibe
Wylie is the best! Sincere Western music in the old tradition with some humor added along the way.
Now this guy has talent! I wish more entertainers had a fraction of the talent he does

Hey Snoopy1944! Who was the famous singing + yodeling cowboy from Australia from back in the 1930s-1940s?

Es un tipazo este Wylie, estupenda voz y gran estilo. Todo un show.
First time to hear, loved this. 🥀🇺🇸🌹🙏
Great band.. Excellent vocal.
Yes: a real down to earth showman, just great playing with no elaborate stage settings . THE REAL THING!
First time watching such thing... It's nice I gotta say
Talent is timeless...what's yours?
2022 and I am still a loyal fool.
Small town boy from Montana, he wore a red bandana
With a guitar always close at hand
Led by his intuition, he had but one ambition
To become the greatest yodeler in the land
You could find him in the streets in the alleys and the bars
Correcting and perfecting his tune
The towns folk just laughed, turned their backs
He was the local yodeling fool
He practiced every day he practiced every night
His song seemed to be his only friend
One day he disappeared and the townsfolk cheered,
"Hooray, we'll never have to hear him again"
No longer in the streets and the alleys and the bars could you hear his
Lonesome tune
For the boy had gone and taken with him his song of
The local yodeling fool
One day farmer Bill had his truck parked on the hill
With his radio blaring across the town
Who should he hear coming in so loud and clear
It was that local yodeling clown
It was heard in the streets and the alleys and the bars
A voice that rang so true
They heard that shout and they new without a doubt
It was the local yodeling fool
12 years late, greetz from the netherlands, love this
im in half leg mean my left leg like a broken and when im listen to this music i can dance and not feeling any pain what the magic this song make me feel like superman :D
