(Though I would argue they don't have any luxurious interiors so far)
This design looks awesome & fresh. Its a good looking vehicle, if your not biased & a fool for German brands, spending more than a vehicle is worth. Now that ev's have conquered the acceleration debate, you either go for looks or driving dynamics.
Yes, and remains to be seen which company will get the driving dynamics right. The "elephant in the room" is EV vehicle weights, due to the poor energy storage capacity of today's batteries.
@@sneaky_krait7271 The exterior design is Volvo-basic, which will enthuse some folks, but not me. What is not mentioned in the website specs is vehicle weight, the achilles heel of EVs when considering how they will feel at an aggressive pace. And if EVs are so wonderful, why is the government incentivizing them to the tune of $7,500 a pop (Biden's BBB bill has a $12.5k incentive)? OBTW, EVs may not pollute, but most of their energy sources do (with nuclear and hydro exceptions). Obviously, I'm not into EVs.
Those interior door handles aren't great (and yes I'm obviously clutching at straws to find a negative) but otherwise it's great. The exterior is nice and that interior would be one of the most functional, yet still modern designs. I hate the Tesla's overemphasis on using the touch screen and, call me old fashioned, but I want a button for the audio volume, fan speed and temperature as a minimum. I expect I'll probably buy my first EV in the next 12-18 months and this will be high on my list, probably at the top in fact. Edit: and that coupe thing at the end looks mint. Beautiful and it also looks like a Genesis. I love their current design flavour and it's evidence (looking at you BMW) that you can be striking and beautiful at the same time.
That range would cost a lot more though. There are only a few models with more than 350 miles rated and they all cost a lot of money. 300 is the standard right now in a "reasonable" budget.
The only reason I would choose it over the Kia EV6 is due to the fact that the EV6 has the crappy multi-reflector LEDs in the states and also a lack of an adjustable power steering wheel. It's all manual tilt and pivot.
I don't understand why he's so snarky about the looks, I think it looks great not "zany". Also, Genesis interiors are very nice indeed regardless of baubles. I still prefer the less expensive, more practical and retro-styled Ioniq 5 though.
To quote Harris, "What car doesn't look good with Box Arches" That concept is spot on. The GV60 isn't a bad looking box. A little MX30/Niroesq but a little more car like than some of the other EV's.
It only gets tougher if the others dramatically improve their range, develop widespread networks of superchargers (that show up on nav screen showing how many are in use), offer FSD, offer software updates with your car sitting in your driveway, etc.
That sphere thing looks precarious. What if you're cleaning inside the car in some wide legged shorts with no Y-Fronts and you're straddling the centre console and you accidentally start the car and your nutsack gets caught in it? Very beautiful but you'd have to be a bit careful.
Loving the look of this. I prefer it way more to say the Kia EV6 for instance. Those wheels!! YES! loving them. It just blows the competition away imo. Nice. I'd go for it if it wasn't going to be waaaaaaaay out of my price range :D
To you (and even me to an extent) but others will happily take a hit to their pocket, or pay for an inferior model, to get a car they like the look of. Otherwise there would be no luxury cars. Dam even no Tesla if price mattered that much. Luckily it doesn't, people value styling. As much as I love Tesla on paper I hate their interiors
@@nicosmind3 Oh I hate Tesla interiors and quality as well but range would still be my #1 consideration for a daily driven car. But you're right, not everybody thinks like that I guess. I'm curious what % of buyers have that as their #1 consideration though
For those who are confused by the front end. Put yourself in this mindset when considering the whole exterior and interior. 1960's - 1970's Jet / Post Modernism and then suddenly it all makes sense. I personally love the vehicle. Hell even the analog moving wall graphic in the video is Jet Age / Post Modernism. I really want to know how it drives vs. the Ionic5, which I don't like the ride of or the EV6, which I do like the ride of very much.I will say I find the lime stripe used in the interior repulsive thankfully there are many other attractive options
No, the Jet Age and Postmodern design are 2 different things. A Jet Age inspired car would be like Pagani and a Postmodern inspired car is the Ioniq 5, this car is a Space-Age design
That gear selector will break and it'll totally beach your vehicle. Modern cars are so extremely finnicky. More focus on gimmicks than pure reliability.
I bought my Genesis GV80 SUV a month before the NHTSA's crash test dummy Tiger Woods showed everyone how safe it was. This has to be the best vehicle I have owned to date for the money and would consider the GV60 over a Tesla. My next EV will be the USA-made $28,500 Aptera that does 0-60mph in a 3.5-second vehicle which is coming out later in 2022 with a 250-mile range or up to 1000 miles with a larger battery pack. It charges180 miles at night using standard 120-volt household receptacles or 180 miles in 15 minutes using any 50kW charger. Plus, their vehicle is "Driven by the Sun".🚘
Both very nice looking cars. I also didn’t realise that Infiniti have pulled out of the U.K. market but not surprised as when they first came here it wasn’t a good time to expect to sell another higher-end fuel consumption car to the U.K. market, and now it’s too late anyway..
that coupe is so sexy. Wish the GV60 had 1% the looks the coupe has. The GV60 has all the benefits of being on the platform from the Ioniq and EV6, but those cars are both better looking. An exterior design fail IMO. Idk who is going to be convinced that the premium you're paying for the Genesis is worth it over those cheaper versions.
Absolutely!! Got me a GV80, while everyone said "Oh, it's not a 'tested' car". Had it for 15 months now, and still absolutely craaazy about it!!!!! To the doubters, go for a test drive. You'll never be the same again 🥰
This is easily the nicest Genesis model/design to date and high on my list of candidates for a EV when I finally decide to take the plunge (not holding my breath that will be anytime soon though). That concept sedan though looks amazing and if made I can see it going starting in the 6 figure mark.

@@rlsedition Polestar 2 has good driving dynamics, even on track it performs well.
@@sneaky_krait7271 That's a pretty expensive car coming from a race car shop.
@@rlsedition Polestar 2 starts at 45K. That's just 3K more than an Ioniq 5 and 5K cheaper than the Model 3
Genesis design is amazing. It's the best unique and sophisticated design.
Buttons...YES PLEASE!!!! Good job Hyundai 👏👏👏
The fingerprint scanner and the face recognition are great touches.
Wow that's one's of the most beautiful car i seen in past years along with the peugeot 508Sw and porche taycan
The EV6 looks better, so does the Ioniq 5. The X Coupe on the other hand 😍
Such a nice looking car - shame about the driving range per charge. They should have made it at least 350 miles.
That range would cost a lot more though. There are only a few models with more than 350 miles rated and they all cost a lot of money. 300 is the standard right now in a "reasonable" budget.
Great video! The Genesis GV60 is a really beautiful car with a dynamic design and a luxurious interior. Excited for this EV to hit the market !! ⚡️
I own a g70 my mother owns a gv80 and we absolutely love them. Genesis is great
Pretty nice looking, can't wait to see drift mode, THT COUPE THO!!!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL
I'd take this GV60 over the Ionic 5 or EV6 any day of the week
The only reason I would choose it over the Kia EV6 is due to the fact that the EV6 has the crappy multi-reflector LEDs in the states and also a lack of an adjustable power steering wheel. It's all manual tilt and pivot.
I don't understand why he's so snarky about the looks, I think it looks great not "zany". Also, Genesis interiors are very nice indeed regardless of baubles. I still prefer the less expensive, more practical and retro-styled Ioniq 5 though.
I wish it didn't look so similar to the EV6, and instead looked more like the GV70/80.
Safe to say the EV market is growing larger and larger by the day 👏🔥
To quote Harris, "What car doesn't look good with Box Arches" That concept is spot on. The GV60 isn't a bad looking box. A little MX30/Niroesq but a little more car like than some of the other EV's.
Another fantastic EV hitting the market. It only gets tougher for Tesla from here on.
Why would it be tougher? Is Tesla only competing against other EV makers but not ICE vehicles?
It only gets tougher if the others dramatically improve their range, develop widespread networks of superchargers (that show up on nav screen showing how many are in use), offer FSD, offer software updates with your car sitting in your driveway, etc.
@@santay5479 Blah blah blah....same old tired, outdated talking points from the Tesla Taliban.
Best EV design I've seen and that COUPE OMG. I'm not even a fan of Coupe but that is one gorgeous car.
*Genesis is swinging for the fences with their electric vehicles. Bravo*
What a cool car i heard genesis topped the safety tests too above volvo and tesla
Like the GV60, love the concept.
No Back Up Light in white in color?
That sphere thing looks precarious.
What if you're cleaning inside the car in some wide legged shorts with no Y-Fronts and you're straddling the centre console and you accidentally start the car and your nutsack gets caught in it?
Very beautiful but you'd have to be a bit careful.

Genesis, please do not change anything about this car.. it’s perfect. Just send some out already and take my money
Loving the look of this. I prefer it way more to say the Kia EV6 for instance. Those wheels!! YES! loving them. It just blows the competition away imo. Nice. I'd go for it if it wasn't going to be waaaaaaaay out of my price range :D
I’m going with extraordinarily gorgeous. Yes, this car is simply stunning.
That X coupé looks amazing, looks like an old BMW eight series!
@7:48 to 8:00. T|his summarizes the whole car perfectly for me. thank you.
I’ve always been a fan of genesis. A dealership left a bad taste in my mouth once for raising the msrp on the car.
As if no other dealer does that?

Until the range is similar to Teslas at comparable price points, none of the tech and styling matters
Not to mention charging networks
@@nicosmind3 Oh I hate Tesla interiors and quality as well but range would still be my #1 consideration for a daily driven car. But you're right, not everybody thinks like that I guess. I'm curious what % of buyers have that as their #1 consideration though
Nothing about this design says premium
What a beautiful concept.
Genesis is on a crazy run rn
Absolutely beautiful cars!
Absolutely love this car...
Beautiful car 👍
I like that as a every day EV, I dislike most EV but that looks ok
Gimmicky becomes boring after a couple of months. Then it becomes a nightmare when it breaks.
That gear selector will break and it'll totally beach your vehicle. Modern cars are so extremely finnicky. More focus on gimmicks than pure reliability.
Sure, but Where are the gimmicks here?
What a beautiful design!
How is it that Genesis can create cars so much more interesting & cool than the big luxury makers? They are upending the market that’s for sure.
The designer use to work for those makers
woah...i was thinking of getting the 2022 C class but this is car is beautiful. I would definitely rethink and get this car maybe
As soon as I saw the gear selector I knew I had to have it
I bought my Genesis GV80 SUV a month before the NHTSA's crash test dummy Tiger Woods showed everyone how safe it was.
Please God let this car be affordable
Starts from £47k but the top model with some options in £74k.
that coupe is so sexy.
Hyundai...ahem...Genesis, looks better and better with each model. Love that they're having some fun with it! Curious about the price.
Awesome car, for people who actually do research when purchasing a car and not following the crowd
Absolutely!! Got me a GV80, while everyone said "Oh, it's not a 'tested' car". Had it for 15 months now, and still absolutely craaazy about it!!!!! To the doubters, go for a test drive. You'll never be the same again 🥰
it's just a rebadged Kia EV6
@@Apipoulai and what's wrong with it? I can say that to Aston Martin Vantage, Toyota Supra, Subaru Solterra and many more
my 350z gets 300 miles of range on a full tank. Really puts EV Range into perspective!
This is easily the nicest Genesis model/design to date and high on my list of candidates for a EV when I finally decide to take the plunge (not holding my breath that will be anytime soon though).
That concept sedan though looks amazing and if made I can see it going starting in the 6 figure mark.
it's just a rebadged Kia EV6
Nah GV70 is a better design more classy
I do like the interior. Modern & modest.
All the genesis concepts have looked fantastic and sophisticated and this just looks goofy and cartoonish
This insane ! I want that , do they have right steering wheel ?
I think it's ironic that TG call out BMW on looks and failed to recognize that the X Coupe concept has the same silhouette as the BMW 850csi.
I think he was referring to BMW as of late.
The Genesis cars are pretty handsome lately. I'd almost consider them above the German or Italian rivals... Who would ever think that a couple of years ago?
this is definitely ugliest variant of the ioniq 5. i like the kia ev 6 best
Love the look of this - like the Mustang E GT - but think I would defo look at this - the reviews are incredible positive

I’m gonna go back and look at how many times you have said “Tesla Rival” “Tesla Killer” just to prove that it doesn’t matter. You can’t kill Tesla at this point, so just let these cars be what they are. This is more a rival to gas mid luxury crossovers than Tesla in every aspect.
Oh. There has been bigger companies that have fallen down than Tesla 👍 You only need some quality issues 👍
" You can’t kill Tesla at this point" Tesla could kill themselves :
- 30% share value loss
- 500000 cars recalled (nearly half the produced cars)
- autopilot under investigation for car crashes
- 2021 consumer reports ranking Tesla among 3 least reliable brands
- trunks that open while driving issues
- drivers that can play games while driving issues
- toxic cultist Musk fanboys that not many people want to be associated with, one of the reasons why me and my friends do not buy Tesla cars
