Your tips are right on. 2008, First time I went to Japan was in the month of March. Went to Shinjuku Gyoen Garden to see the beautiful flowers bundled up in my puffy coat because it was so c-c-cold. Two weeks later it was warmer & was walking around in just a hoodie. I did take advantage of the Suica card 👍🏾. Wish I knew about the shipping service for luggage-that’s awesome. I’m like a sponge and I am soaking up more & more information for my next trip to Japan. Thank you for sharing. 😃
Yeah, it can go from cold to hot in an instant during the spring 😅 Thank you for watching and sharing, I hope you get to take that next trip soon!
Great info 👍
Thanks Chris!
Nice video. Used Yamato twice during my lone trip to Japan and it worked great.
In my case I used it for a delayed delivery whenever I went to a side destination (example I went to Koyasan and didn't want to haul my bag). I dropped it off at a Yamato center in Tokyo and asked to have it delivered to Osaka in two days (they will hold it for you a few days) as I couldn't ask the Airbnb to accept the delivery.
Also, if you're doing a short day trip you can leave your luggage in a train station locker as well but there is a time limit of usually 3 days and honestly if you need a large locker there aren't nearly as many of them around unless you're at a very large train station (think Tokyo / Shin-Osaka) and those also have bag rooms that are staffed but have limited operational hours. But Yamato with a delayed pickup would be cheaper for anything longer than 3 or 4 days in most cases.
Awesome tips! Thank you for sharing that!
Thanks for the video! Love to know how to Takkyubin works… is an app or do hotels book it for you?
Thanks for watching! There are counters at the airports so you can just go there. Hotels will also help book it for you. You can send your luggage off to your next hotel or to the counter at the airport so you can pick it up for your flight home.
My parents thinking to go trip in 2024 spring cause 2023 were so busy
Sounds good!
Is the visit Japan web a new thing I haven’t visited since 2019 and I don’t remember having that
Yes it’s new a new thing that came about pretty recently
I have carried my big luggage on Shinkansen last time when I travel from Tokyo to Kansei. I thought it is allowed.
There are new rules and more to come. Right now I think you’re allowed up to 160cm, 161-250cm requires a special reservation. You’ll probably want to check when you’re planning because things are changing, the JR Rail Pass as well.
This part of the video is about wanting to lug it on domestic trips by train or not.
Thanks for the heads up. I am doing research and making sure the trains and buses I’m planning to take (yes I’m coming again!) will allow big luggages. It looks like I just have to request in advance
@@barrettish it’s good to know about the luggage delivery service. I’m a bit concern though if my luggage got lost during the delivery though compared to having it with me the whole time.
@@jirojiro1029 Yeah understandable. I will say though that I’ve had only little issues with mail and delivery services in Japan as they are top notch. I’ve had just as many issues if not more in the 6 months that I’ve been back in the US as all my years in Japan.
