Sign up also for the GeoDesign MOOC from Penn State - August 2015. At your university - any web or coding class that you can take would be helpful - Javascript, Python, HTML. Then - spatial statistics or any statistics will be helpful. Server administration in computer science as well. Hope this helps! Best wishes.
