I've got nothing but good things to say about this amp since the day I purchased it. It has that nice Ampeg tone and even though it's a combo it delivers every time without fail. For shows, most if not all venues have the option to DI and thanks to the DI input in the front just DI it to the house monitors and you'll have that monster Ampeg tone without lugging a big rig around and end up just going DI anyway. I've even played some shows where I brought this, someone brought a stack, both went DI, and the sound was so similar in regards to power. So that just goes to show what this amp is capable of. I'm not saying side by side with a stack it's gonna blow it out of the water, I'm saying with how music/live shows go today you don't need a massive amp to deliver a massive tone. As for smaller shows at least with what I've experienced this amp still manages to keep up with whoever I'm performing with without fail. The send and return is also a nice touch because you can add your pedals or any other effects, compressor, etc to your bass tone like you would any other amp. Even recording either a mic or DI you can get a nice solid tone with the amp itself. I've been using Ampeg's for a very long time and I've played plenty of different Ampeg models and even though it's no 8x10, Ampeg manages to make an amazing combo that delivers tone, power, and reliability
Wow - I think there musta been something wrong with the one I tried! I had nothing good to say about it, and I usually love Ampeg gear. The one I tried wouldnt have been powerful enough for a gig in the living room!
Donald Swan oh damn man, sorry to hear that man. Hopefully my review at least let you wanna give them a second chance, There’s a -15 DB button on there for active basses/basses with a higher output which will dampen the volume. So just double check for that as well because when trying them in the store someone could have just hit it and when you plug in say a passive bass or a bass with dead batteries it could appear really low in volume. But a simple hit of the switch or changing batteries could resolve the issue.
@@robsantorobass Hey that may have been what was happening Rob. Thanks for the headsa up, and glad you are happy with yours. When Ampeg gear is good, it's really good. I have a Rocket B200R, (despite its manufacturing problems, my favourite amp of all time) and about to buy an old B100R AND one of the new Rockets, so Ampeg hasn't lost out from me haha
Thanks for the great review Dino . I am currently in the hunt for a good amp for Garage/ practice settings . Your description was very thorough and to the point . I am sold .. thank you 🙏🏼
This combined with a Schecter Studio sounds pretty damn good. Although like a lot of reviewers have said, it does have some hiss with higher frequencies.
please make an amp this size with some tubes in it. the scrambler is nice but its missing some of that nice tube saturation! maybe 3 preamp tubes, and one or two power tubes!keep the scrambler circuit, but have a knob to blend between tube and solid state aswell...just a thought!
this is an incredible amp, definitely would recommend but i am here to ask about a small problem i have had with it for a while. when i turn it on the amp most of the time doesnt make any sound except if i turn it up loud with the hf mute OFF i can hear the high frequencies. however it sounds normal through headphones, and if i disconnect the headphones it sometimes makes the amp work like normal again. i think its due to the amp thinking headphones are in the amp when they are not and by putting headphones in and out it recognizes that it doesnt have headphones in and fixes it. however this probably has a simple fix and when it does work properly it sounds amazing.
I picked one up back in December, since I liked the old BA115HP amp. If you're playing a gig with no PA support, this should hold its own in a room suited for around 150-200 people, or smaller. Then again, depending on the style of music, you might get away with more. I always had to compete with extremely loud guitars. I like it. Try one out!
Can I also practice silently with the headphones on the 110v2? I mean, does that one also turn off the speakers so I don't disturb people arroud me? My mom, basically haha.
also i have a question! is there any ampeg combo amps like this that if somebody wanted to use a seperate ampeg head or other bass head they could plug right into the cabinet bypassing the amp? so in other words a combo amp/ just a cab if need be! that would make me go buy one today because i could go buy the ba 115, but later down the road i could get another head and plug into the ba 115 as a cab, and also have it where i could daisy chain another ampeg cab aswell!
The only issue with this amp is the Scrambler section is beyond useless and almost inaudible/tone sucking, unless you turn the pad -15db switch on then you can hear it.
If you want to waste your money it would be easier to drive down the road and throw it out the window these things are cheaply built peace’s of shit as a matter of fact it seems like all the new stuff is junk I have a ba 115 that keeps blowing fuses but ampeg knows this but won’t stand behind there product I recently bought a svt 7 pro head it cut in and out at my gig and practice so I sent it back so not to much interest in ampeg products anymore I’ll start looking at Mesa or mark bass it’s really sad ampeg would get to this level
I'm looking for this... For 9 years i found it... Thank you man

I love my BA115v2, I dont`t complain about that people complain of fan noise, it`s ok!
We have one of these, just brutal, love it :)

A LOT of hiss.
Please consider recording the amp with a good mic, not the camera mic. I want to listen all the frequencies the amp can generate :)
and is the oficial chanel

is there a 2x10 video coming out?
Hey there! Nice review. Just wondering if any single foot switch will work for the overdrive on this amp?
yes
also i have a question! is there any ampeg combo amps like this that if somebody wanted to use a seperate ampeg head or other bass head they could plug right into the cabinet bypassing the amp? so in other words a combo amp/ just a cab if need be! that would make me go buy one today because i could go buy the ba 115, but later down the road i could get another head and plug into the ba 115 as a cab, and also have it where i could daisy chain another ampeg cab aswell!
Is it loud enough? I got the old version, and it's not loud enough for a rockband
Its not
It's plenty loud enough
Can I use 400w 8ohm cab on the BA-210 as external cab?Thanks!
NIce. Something inexpensive and good sounding. Now I can leave my 70s B-15N home.
Floyd explica!
muito massa
Can the Line Out be connected to a Speaker Cabinet?
Nope! Not unless it's a powered speaker cabinet.
AmpegTV it's safe connect the line out of the Ba115 to an mixer input with phantom power on?
Greetings.
Do these amps come with casters
No
Where's the 15 DB button?
Not surprised that ampeg didnt respond. Its above the input jack.
Apparently they decided knobs weren’t important...
Could have been useful if we could actually ear something at all.
Audio track on this video is soooooo low
The only issue with this amp is the Scrambler section is beyond useless and almost inaudible/tone sucking, unless you turn the pad -15db switch on then you can hear it.
Let’s spend 1/4 of the review showing distortion on a bass amp...duh
God the scrambler sounds awful!

Sorry to hear about your frustrations 4 years later. The V2 models are nice amps.
