Thanks for the video AGGP. I thousand percent understand that feeling. I am feeling it with much more frequency now that I am much older and my life and responsibilities have shifted. For context, the Warframe closed alpha was a thing in the latter half of my twenties and Im now well into my thirties. Like you I dont necessarily look to games as an escape (I have cool IRL things going on too), but I did when I was younger. Back then I was cash poor and time rich, so priorities and what I got out of vidya jaems were different than now - cash rich and time poor. I have to be much more selective about what is worthy of my time. Because games lately have been extremely meh for me, I've spent fewer and fewer hours playing them, choosing instead to focus on my jobs or other hobbies. I'm finding games lately have been very paint-by-numbers and samey. The one you feature here looks exactly like Warframe to me, so my mind immediately thought "Hey, I could just turn on Warframe" and then "I cant even remember the last time I turned on Warframe" and finally "man, Warframe felt like such a slog." So I'll just go to work instead. 😉
This is exactly how it feels, I love TFD but I feel like at my age, I should be chasing things for the long run in my life. This game takes a huge amount of time to invest in which I don't think I could keep up with
I'm right there with you. I'm out here trying to drop the covid weight, figure out why I have multiple 401K's, but don't really know if I'm donating anything.. Like, there's just too much shit on the table for a relentless grind.
I always have moods were i enjoy playing video games a lot then i totally lose interest and would rather do other things... You should do what makes you happy but Plz keep uploading something for us lolllll
😅🥴😱 (games & the games industry got me feeling all kinds of ways) Even when games are rated for mature, some of the player-base will lie about their age or started right on the cusp of being the age to play. When you’re young you tend to have more idle time on average. The player bases of these games are also aging up & the devs gotta adapt to our decrease in idle time. The rewards & the amount of grind gotta be worth it & adapt to the game statistics of how much time players are or aren’t sinking in. I can guarantee you Warframe players don’t grind as much as we used to (server statistics side), not a bad thing, we just recognize that we value the little time we have more now. Less grind time? Make the rewards or gameplay more incentivizing. Easier said than done on paper, but devs should be paying attention to where players do or don’t spend their time. 💜 Hope any of this made sense, I just woke up at a weird time. There’s probably some existential can of worms to be had about this, but that’s not for the RUclips comments 😂
For me gaming has been a time vs reward thing. Do i feel my time is rewarded doing things like farming/leveling/grinding? No. I don't expect immediate rewards, but if ive done that gameplay at least a couple times it feels like ive already completed that area of a game and want to move on. Forcing grind in places it doesn't needa be doesnt feel rewarding when im already strong enough to move to the next bit
I felt this in my soul 😭 a lot of these games does feel like a chore especially when youre a completist and want to at least unlock or collect everything And if you still want to get stronger but lean as well do some calisthenics
well, that's it. we're getting older. same with me, as much as i wanna get stuff for this game or once human or other games .. i just dont have the time now. this is why other content creators would rather play mobas or competitive shooters -- you play it for an hour or two, and you're basically done and ignore the game (although nowadays all games have FOMO battlepasses n stuff)
Agreed! Games become a chore when good prizes are behind annoying or unfun walls... It's tedious especially... If you're just not even having fun with the content... Everyone's different, yeah yeah yeah, but i find enjoyment... Having my character look cool... And doing fun missions, dungeons, boss battles etc even if I don't need to... Because the fight and combat itself was fun. First Descendant is so poorly optimized, my computer is a bit old too, yet warframe had a lot of shit going on and i get 60fps and RDR2 can run fine and these games have more visual appeal. Also, too many male butt covers. hate that double standard. Dude would wear pants, wear a long shirt, have a trench coat and have a butt plate armor just to hide their ass lol That "I'm not gay," male body fearing, body shaming, self image hate is too strong with male game characters lol god forbid he's handsome lol and not just a "relateable" stand-in Stanley
First descendant is running in unreal engine 5 keep that in mind. Warframe has been running in their same engine for all these years, fine-tuned it wasn't that way in the beginning and I think you know that. Anyways I've been enjoying the first descendant. It's absolutely grindy, I'm fine with it because I don't play Warframe anymore but I can't imagine doing both.
Just to add. I don't know what it is but I always crave a game that's in this vein. A grind. I don't want all my games to be this, but j enjoy having one , it's a comfort food. I also agree with your comments about paying for certain things. Some people might get mad at me but I feel like most of the people that complain too much about Micro transactions, do so because they either don't work or cannot afford to pay for anything. I know that isn't everyone but I for sure know that is a large amount of people that I hear whine about it. If a game like this that's free has some things I can buy I look at it like a subscription. I see no difference between that and a sub to world of Warcraft for instance.
It's a you problem. You're playing Warframe for a decade now. Myself, along so many others, (I also played Warframe since closed beta) can not stop playing The First Descendant. Its good and more importantly.... IT'S SOMETHING NEW !!!

At the end of the day, it's a farming looters shooter. All those that have a beef with this game are Warframe and Destiny players. I am also one of those guys. But the fun I have in this game playing solo or with friends/strangers is awesome.
That's kind of a you problem lol... Just do other thing and play games that you find fun. But its not a game problem, its a you problem. This is the result of kids thinking you have to grind these things out relentlessly. Play and then stop. It's simple really.
