I may have left some rude comments in the past. I can be an a**hole, but I appreciate your wisdom sir. I have to thank you a ton for getting me onto a chatterbait! I have been catching many nice bass like crazy lately! The chatterbait is most definately, "A big fish lure"
Try slowing down the retrieve as slow as you can but still feel or see the pulsation with your rod tip. Too much commotion can be a turn off in cold or highly pressured waters. It will also run deeper where the fish are.
@RichNFamas That's a golden shiner color no.13 Jackhammer. I keep 5 at all times. I live in south Fl. and we have shiners not shad. I guess they have a few shad north of where I live but not many. We have Peacock bass down here now. The state stocked a few lakes in Palm Beach county and further south. The fisherman have been moving them north too. Do you know what trailer bait he was using? Trying to figure it out, and he never said. I have a Karl's membership and can get Jackhammers for less than $13 shipped. I don't like Googan but they have other things I like, members get %20 off and a bunch of other perks like free shipping. The $50 membership has payed for itself 10x's over, at least. Other than that I'm a Sixth sense junkie. Bass fishing in S. Florida is year round, and I wouldn't live anywhere else.
The Z-man CrossEyeZ Chatterbait has Jackhammer upgrades, Plus a two prong weed guard for $9 and is my current favorite Chatterbait. Far fewer snags and not having to pick weeds of the hook between casts. Weedless feature more than pays for itself and significant time is saved. I am convinced I catch more bass with it because I am more confident throwing it next to cover.
I have the cross eyez to, I found it at Ollie's bargain Mart for 3 bucks a lure which is a steal considering they are 10 a piece. The weedless guard is so much better for me being in Louisiana
I was thinking the same. It looks like a golden series thunder cricket by strike king. The reason I say that is because I have one and they look the same. Jackhammers are more square and thunder cricket is more round
Wonder why lots of the new bass guys advice against using braid with a chatter bait but then again does are the same guys that hook the fish all of their strength and complain about bending hooks or ripping lips
I like the z-man flashback mini 3/16. I catch a lot of different species on it. Besides, our native Texas bass in the creeks and ponds are little guys. BTW, what did you do to your hand, son?
I’m still watching and it is not going to be long now with you fishing that headwaters will will be posting a 13+ monster Largemouth here shortly this spring it’s coming!!!
It’s a scam don’t do anything they try to tell you to do just go straight to the report and report them I do every time I see them or get one saying that because they will rip you off for everything they can get
Hey Roland, love your videos. I couldn’t help but noticed that the chatterbait you’re using in this video looks like the golden series thunder cricket by strike king. Correct me if I am wrong though. Love watching your videos I learn a lot!
That place gets a crazy amount of pressure. I wonder how long it will last. I agree medium heavy over medium rod ,especially here in FL with all of the grass.
Good video , but would have been better if we could see the water where you were casting, also talking about your retrieve speed that was most effective that day. Thanks

Modified Albright knots are pretty easy to tie and they're plenty strong for tying braid to leaders.
The thunder cricket is the deal. Same style as the jack hammer. Lil cheaper and less seen by fish. I'll stick with the king....strike king.
For some reason I can't catch anything on a chatterbait here in CT. Catch a ton on spinner baits but only maybe one fish a month on a chatter bait.

Pause and retrieve pause and retrieve
What size chatterbait do you use?
Caught my 1st chatterbait fish last wkend. A 5lb catfish! 😕
That jackhammer bite is like a drug to me 🤤 When they slam it and pull right back after you set the hook, it’s on!

Hope everyone here catches their pb this year!
🍻
You too!
🤝🏼🙂
I like crunchy pb.
I use ChatterBate in a completely different way. If you know, you know

First, roland the legend, never stop making theese videos, I love that you are spreading your legendary knowledge to the world, keep it up
Great video Roland. I love my chatterbaits.
That's a thunder cricket.....
No it’s a chatter bait that’s how the Jackhammer blade looks it’s more round than the regular Z-Man chatter bait
@Brian Pierson no its not. The jackhammer blade is not that wide.

What did hapen to your hand ?
Thank you for sharing Roland.
Up to this year I have caught a lot of bass with the Delta Chatterbait,,,,,,,,
Buy all the parts to make your own chatter baits for WAYYY less. I am not paying $16 for a jig with a blade on it!!!
I catch far more fish with artificial worms, flukes, and Whopper Ploppers than I do chatterbaits. This is bank fishing.
Wonder why lots of the new bass guys advice against using braid with a chatter bait but then again does are the same guys that hook the fish all of their strength and complain about bending hooks or ripping lips
hope your hand is ok
The blade on that looked like the Thunder Cricket...
Thanks Roland!!!
How did you hurt your hand? I hope you get better soon
Ask Santa for a scale Roland!
You’re the Best🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great video as usual. I keep getting notifications from you saying I won a contest. Not sure if it’s On the level or a scam. Probably scam.

Great videos, I watch them all
I especially love the "what's happening, Roland " on Fridays. I look forward to watching them! Thank-you
