Yes I think he was talking about loving to be in Doctor Who but he’s always said he would’t want to do it playing 3rd Doctor. He might have changed his mind on that though
He could play the Master regenerated to look like the 3rd....

@@jacobschenk6661 possibly. He has a lot of admiration for Roger Delgado who was his dad’s best friend so might want to pay tribute to him by doing that role.
Also Sean has beenin his dads costume at a Halloween party few years ago if go on Google you can see the resembles to his dad/3rd Doctor

I've never been too fussed in seeing him as the 3rd Doctor, but I've always wanted him to appear on the show, he fantastic as Alfred in Gotham and I first saw him in A Bear's Tale about 20 years ago (the sitcom featuring the Bear from Bo' Selecta).
Oh god was he in that? 😄 I remember that coming on TV when I was visiting my Gran once… was a very akward 10 mins before I eventually said “shall we turn it over?” 😂😂😂
@@CulturePhilter 😂😂. Sean played the adopted father of the bear, who I think was with Patsy Kensit. I was in my early teens at the time. Think I might have seen that before I became a Doctor Who fan.
Oooh interesting. I've always wanted to see Sean in Who in some sort of capacity. Loved him in Dog Soldiers and Event Horizon. I always thought he'd make a great Master, as some sort of twisted mirror version of the third.
THAT could be really interesting… although I’m kind of hoping they rest the Master for a few years.
Patrick Troughtons son was in the Tennant episode, Midnight and way back in the 70's as Pelodin with Pertwee.

This is spooky. I really hadn't heard this rumour, but I was musing on whether Sean Pertwee would appear in Doctor Who, playing his father, when I went for a walk earlier today.
Recently at a con I spoke to a Third Doctor cosplayer that I know very well and he told me that he would love to see Sean Pertwee play his father's role someday, so if this is true, I know who I'm going to contact.

Yep. I think we could see Ncuti find that room in modern day and then flashback to when 3rd Doctor was in there in 1970s/80s (depending on the dating protocol 😝)
Maybe it's the Time Window itself, as the Doctor knew about it and had asked the Brig not to use it...
Flash back not just 3rd Doctor but Liz Shaw which i think be also recast actress of Carol John which i think the actress whos been seen (sorry can't remember her name at the time type this but think she's playing an older version of her than the speculation of Susan returning.

No, the cinema thing is that they are showing the previous weeks ep at 11pm I think and then the new ep same time as it drops on iPlayer at middnight.
We see the memory Tardis in the trailer so my guess is if he is in it,he’ll probably be just in there, maybe 15 needs advice on how to defeat the treat and goes to his past self for help, just my guess
I hadn’t considered that, just assumed it would be a flashback but yeah Memory TARDIS is another way he could be in it.

I soooo wish they were doing cinematic releases in Canada. There were a few back around the 50th anniversary and I loved them. And, yes, Sean Pertwee would be great to see in the season finale. Whether he plays his Dad or not. Troughton's sons have made it in to the show. Let's see Pertwee's in there, too.
Our cinema releases here are at midnight so it’s not that great for us, especially us middle aged fans. I stayed up to watch and review Boom at midnight and didn’t get to bed until 3am … it wiped me out for next two days. Never again 😄😄

My theory has always been that Jo Martin regenerates into Jon Pertwee. They are then exiled to Earth for some time. It's also the only missing regeneration (on screen) Could Sean be coming in for a regeneration episode?
That’s always been where I slot her in too. I think it fits best with having the police box TARDIS.
This would be remarkable if true... just reminds me of how much I'd also kill to see Jon Culshaw take on the role of 4 at some point - his Tom Baker impression is brilliant
So is his brigadier. If you had to choose between him appearing on screen as 4th doc or Brigadier which would you choose?
@@CulturePhilter Good question... I think I'd prefer to see his 4th, mainly due to the passing of the Brigadier in real life AND the canon of the show... I'd personally feel a bit off with that, perhaps if it were a cameo though I wouldn't mind

I think Anita Dobson's character is the link to the 3rd Doctor because she said she hasn't seen a police box in 50 years

@@CulturePhilter I'm guessing Mrs Flood worked for UNIT, and maybe had an affair with the 3rd Doctor, Sean Pertwee could be playing the 3rd Doctor or his son, and Ruby could be his daughter. I know this sounds like a soap opera, but the original RTD Era was built around Rose and her family.

My impulse is to say, not a chance. But that's what I thought about David Bradley playing the First Doctor and I was proven wrong then. Assuming this isn't just misinformation that cinemas scraped from IMDb I can imagine Sean Pertwee being there *only* as a nod. Maybe he's a UNIT scientist working on the uncovered artifact, with a reference to wink to the audience. Like The Doctor stumbles in and Pertwee's character calls him a "ham-fisted bun vendor". But not the Doctor.
I think if he’s in it as a different character it will be more than a quick one or two line cameo.

I can’t quite see Ty being the Doctor. At least not yet. Maybe when he matures a bit more but the roles I’ve seen him in so far, while not bad, don’t make me think Doctor.

When was the last time Jelly babies got a mention? I have a veague memory of the 12th Doctor having some in one episode but not sure how accurate that memory is.

@@CulturePhilter Yes! He played Deputy Sheriff Hugh Beringar, Cadfael (Derek Jacobi)'s best friend! I grew up on those books and the TV series!

@@CulturePhilter They are on YT in full, there is even a playlist, if you ever have an afternoon or evening off. I really like them, they're so grounded in tone, not flashy or action-y. They invoked my love for the middle ages, especially England during middle ages, which after some time resulted in a phd in medieval studies ^^ and believe it or not, the accuracy of the political background portrayed in the books and series has enabled me to sail through many a class, shocking my professors with the details I knew. The author, Ellis Peters, was an ardent study of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle that followed the lives of English kings from the Normon Conquest up until the late 1200s.

I'd have no problem with Sean Pertwee but as his own Doctor not his dad's that role belongs to Jon Pertwee I personally wouldn't be happy about as The Third Doctor is my favourite Doctor and I don't want RTD or Disney messing with it they should respect the history and leave it alone.

There was talks about filming with an actor wearing blue dots on his face, so it's very likely that they might digitally alter Sean's face to resemble that of his dad.
Also, I'm not concerned about the voice too much, because David Bradley doesn't sound like William Hartnell either and I didn't hear anyone complaining about that.

@@CulturePhilter Well, it wasn't mentioned which actor, maybe Sean kept his face and another actor was altered. Imagine that they got Jon Culshaw in a military uniform on set and alter his face to that of the Brigadier.

Happy to see Sean Pertwee in Doctor Who; he’s a perfectly good actor. But I don’t want to see him play the third doctor. I hope Sean has stuck to his previous comments. I don’t want to see the TV show descend into the recasting mess like Big Finish has.
I think the 1st Doctor recasting on TV with David Bradley has worked. It could be done with others…. As long as they don’t get carried away and do it too much. And if anyone could play 3rd Doctor it’s Sean.
But I’d also be happy seeing him pop up in a different role.
There was a picture a fewbl years ago that Sean Pertwee took of himself in fancy dress as his Dad, as the Third Doctor. It was just for fun. However, someone else then did a CGI image of Sean's face with Jon's hair. The resemblance was unbelievable!

I watch it in the hope, the vague hope that it might actually improve as they go along. Instead it’s gotten worse. But he’s a well known actor that has appeared in lots of films and TV and as a regular in at least one network TV show in the US.

Really hope he doesnt. His father would spin in his grave if he did it now as this show has been destroyed. If he does it reeks of desperation on behalf of a dieing show
Maybe don’t project your own feelings of the show onto others. I’m sure Sean has a much better idea of what his father would approve of than you do.
