But that lovely big V8 makes it so smooth with that sexy sound though. I think it’s the perfect GT cruiser on the market right now.
Having had both in my inventory (and sold them both) I will say that I feel the GR Supra is a very fun and fast car. The LC500, on the other hand, is an absolute masterpiece of an automobile. Supra would win any race, but I'd rather be in the LC500 10/10 times. Great review!

I'd take the Supra anyday though. Will hold it's value while the Lexus will be 20k in cheap in 5 years.

true, and lots of arm chair warriors on here saying its overpriced.. if it is then anything over 100k is overpriced... its one of the nicest cars I have ever driven or looked at. Its easily as nice as my 2018 SL63, but no where near as fast, but I paid much much more..

I heard the LC500 in real-life, I don't think i will ever hear something like that engine again. Honestly it's just beyond perfection. LC500 is not about speed it's about enjoying every moment while driving.
The only car that sounds better in person is the Lexus LFA, which is still the same brand and a V10!

A couple points here:
1. DAMN is the LC 500 a good-looking car with some serious luxury to offer.
2. For the price, it also needs some better performance. Spending that much for nearly 500 HP should lend to it faring better than it does.
3. The new Supra is quicker than many people are giving it credit for.

The people that hate the LC are hatin it for the wrong reasons. People sayin it’s underpowered and overpriced but it’s not meant to be your weekend track car or be the fastest on the road. It’s meant to cruise comfortably on all roads and to put the power down smoothly kinda like Bentley. People SHOULD hate it for the infotainment tho because it’s trash lmao
I have a passion for Lexus' but I can completely agree they cannot get the infotainment done properly at all 😂 my 2019 CT200h just has an awful infotainment system but the rest of the car is 10/10. Alright, maybe minus the gearbox!
The funniest thing is, the LC500 is basically an updated MK4 Supra with less potential for power mods (it was designed by the team who did the MK4 as they were all transferred to work on Lexus F cars in the early 00s after Toyota gave up on sports cars) It feels like your sitting in a modernised MK4 and it drives the same as a stock one too. Almost all the complaints you hear about the LC apply to the MK4 too, heavy compared to contemporaries, a GT car instead of sports car, etc etc, it's just the people moaning don't even know what MK4 Supras were like to drive before they were lowered, given 500HP, etc.

I've seen several LC's in person. Red with the caramel interior is stunning.
The next RC should be a 3,200 lb car not a 4.2 to 4.5 lb car.
You will hear a Lexus LC500 before you'll see it the sound is hard to ignore, this beauty is stunning coupe and convertible. No It's not the fastest but will you won't car?

LC looks hella sporty but it really is a luxury roadster...refined for cruising... not a drag race type of car.

I would love to see a race between the 2020 Supra versus the 2021 to see if there's a substantial difference
I don't think there is, the 2020 was faster then it was in paper, I feel like the new one just had more accurate specs paperwise but should have similar performance. Haven't seen a video tho comparing them
@Vinny Booboo Yes, I've seen a site that compares them on the Dyno. Says the 2021 is getting 42 more HP than the 2020: ruclips.net/video/p5KyMxHnc9s/видео.html. But I've also seen people say you can feel the torque difference is daily driving. I'm sure the 2021 wins in a drag, but along with the suspension changes I'd love to see the difference in lap times head to head.

I have a 2021 Supra and I'd gladly take the LC500 over this german Z4. However, I could not find a used LC500 within the price of a new Supra so I ended up with a Supra. The LC is damn gorgeous.
Imagine an LC500 competition version. A sub 3 second 0-60 and some weight savings on an LC500 would be glorious.

The 2021 ratings happen to be what it makes at the wheels as well. The revised motor is around 430-450hp at the crank.

That's what BMW always does in recent years. When they said 625, it's 650 at wheels. BMW 510HP=550 at wheels. That's also the case with B58.

@@dougrobinson8602 big mistake in the design. Honestly that would probably be a deal breaker for me. I could care less what it's powered by. I do think they should have done better with changing the interior a bit and a few other things. That being said I always liked it even before the whole supra craze but not being able to drive and enjoy the air would be a hard pill to swallow!
@@nstylemotorsportsracing1471 I could probably live with the buffeting, because I rarely drive with windows down, but there's no question the window down aero should have been addressed. Styling is not great to look at, either. You drop that kind of coin on a sport coupe, and you should be gazing at the car every time you walk away from it. The Supra doesn't do that for me. The LC would.
LC500 is a touring GT. I would rather have the LC500.

Fact of the matter is the car is a repackage z4. Plain and simple. I can beat my 2jz like a dead horse and still would have no problems. They need to bring over the Yaris GR atleast that car is an actual Toyota sports car.

One of the other I disliked the new "supra" besides being a repackaged z4 is the bs excuse that they couldn't develop a new performance engine. Meanwhile toyota and their old partner yamaha ( who helped developed the 2zz) are cranking out engines for the yaris gr and lc 500

Just saw one on Singapore the other day. I've seen alot of sports cars before but the sound and looks the Lexus had took me by surprise
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Supra takes this. The LC is a luxury GT that weighs nearly half a metric ton more and similar torque to the Supra.
The Supra is what you take to the track or twisty canyon road. The Lexus is what you take on a scenic road trip.
But the Lexus is about twice the price of the Supra.

I just bought an LC500, this exact one. I’ve had a bunch of other cars before it one before my last was a c7 stingray I loved the straight pipe start up but I always lacked the touring. I got an RC300 and it was comfy then I wanted to combine the power and comfort. Best decision

6:10 I believe that is a driver safety package you could opt on any BMW for a while now, where it automatically tightens the seatbelt when you reach a certain speed. It gets really annoying when you want to sit more comfortably in the seat and not be pushed into it but you get used to it eventually.
I'm pretty sure that's just how all seat belts are even in my old 90's car.
@@GlossCherry I've never had seatbelts like these in any car before the BMWs. Not in Fords, not in VWs and not in Mercedes either. No doubt they are available in other cars too, but I know them from BMWs mainly.

The 2021 Supra, like all turbocharged BMWs, has a massively underrated horsepower figure. They publish 382hp, but in reality, it makes close to that at the wheels. It's a 420+ horsepower engine with a very fat torque curve.

As an SC400 owner, this was an interesting watch. The LC500 -- and everything the reviewers say about it -- is the modern version of my car. So the LC is faster...when you're in a luxury GT car, you don't care if you lose a few drag races. Hahaha

Both cars are nice in there own way. I like the engine in the Supra cause of its tuning potential. Not crazy about the inside of the Supra and wind buffering feature. The LC500 is a DD with power and comfort.
Can't wait to see the 400Z comes out and see how it stacks with the Supra.

Heard about the LC "Structural Blue"?.. Actually no blue pigment, but structures which reflect only blue light not unlike a butterfly's wings. Or some crap like that, Lexus did a promo vid on it. One of the most beautiful blue's I've ever seen.

I've owned many, many cars in my time. Porsche's, BMW's, Mercedes and more. Now I'm driving the Lexus LC500. Nothing compares. It's quick but not fast. That is not why you drive this car. It's not for racing, it's for cruising in style. When my wife won't give up the wheel, you know you have a great car.
If they made an LC-F with a v8 that revs to at least 8000 rpm...

there has been rumors that they are making one, but sadly it will be a Twin Turbo V8. I guess it makes sense as you kinda need the torque to push the heavy weight. Will have 620 hp tho.
