Brian Woodling lollllllllllllllllllllllllll
Just Rattle can your AR and use it.
Ive been to hell and back, I was married
Twice!!!! Never again!
Been there too, man that sucked
just use rattle can paint and use it, it will wear on it's own
Too bad the buffer tube will not be "to hell and back" extend the stock and ooops ur covers blown
Folks actually pay for Duracoat paint and do this with it? I understand the Distressed trend is popular. If I did. I would do a base coat and make sure I had 100% coverage. Then use a cheaper paint for the Distressed look. The base of Duracoat will offer the protection Duracoat is known for. Just my input and opinion on how I would approach it.. keep up the great work.
SHWELL11 I agree 100%.
SHWELL11 THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!!
SHWELL11 no they use a base paint to give the look then give it a clear coat of duracoat
Should do a rust patina kit.
I get this on repros of genuine antique or vintage guns, or if you buy a vintage gun that has been refinished and you want the distressed original look back on it, but if spend like 1500$ on a nice AR, making it look old is kinda silly, but I get it, old worn in tools are more attractive then a brand new tool, more comfortable to use effectively, there is a mental aspect to breaking the new car smell on things, but if you have a flat duracoat and let it distress with use you have a real look to your gun and you know how it got there, it makes it yours that much more.
That is seriously cool. Thanks!
There is this thing called Spray Paint, Acetone, and a Rag. You should try it out sometime.
+Reviews of Stuff The To Hell and Back Distressing Kit is convenient because not only is the Mission Specific Removable Camouflage Coating that is included in the kit easy to distress and create the look you want, but it is also compatible with our DuraCoat. This means that when you are finished distressing the coating, you then have the option of applying a DuraCoat Clear top coat to make the look permanent and durable.
+DuraCoat Firearm Finishes why not just use your rifle??? People spend so much time trying to be something they are not that it would be easier to just do the real thing to begin with.
You mind if I link this in a few of my paint job tutorials? I'm sure a lot the real steelers would love to use this method as opposed to mine!
Randy Jacob You can definitely link to our video! Thank you! You do awesome paint jobs and your videos are fantastic! Keep up the great work!
for all you guys saying "just use your rifle"..let's see your rifles!..bet they only sit in the gun case..get real
Xstreamaudio I mean that’s a pretty ignorant thing to suggest. I’m sure a lot of people use their rifles. I mean a light dusting of spray paint and even a few days at the range and your rifle is going to start showing wear. Rifles these days have become way less about being a tool and more about looking tacticacool... This seems time consuming for something that should cost no more than a rattle can or two, and a two or three days at a range.
The "Mission Specific Removable Coating" is removable, but all those scratches from using SANDPAPER to distress it won't come off...
I agree 100% with Shwell 11 . Anyone wants your rig to look like this, give it to me for a few days. Or just drag it behind your truck on a crappie road for 1 mile , job done .It's just looks to be a teenage boy thing, But to each his own.
Capt. Gus RH except wearing legitimate finish in as realistic manner through normal use can take a very long time or a long time with heavy use as for the truck idea thats moronic you can damage the rifle badly and the end result would look nothing like actual wear it would just look like you dragged the rifle over gravel
Did you even think about what you were saying?
In IL we just throw them in the road when the salt spreaders comes by.....free
I am doing a special project for my son. Are there other colors that can be used? Specifically white.
Adam Fitzer The To Hell and Back Distressing Kit is available in two different two-color options, but we can substitute any other colors from our Mission Specific Removable Camo line. That line consists of 11 colors, one of which is White. All of the available colors in that line can be found on our website here (under the "Select Color" drop-down menu): www.lauerweaponry.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=903.
If ordering online, write the colors you'd like substituted in the comments section during checkout. If ordering over the phone, simply tell the representative taking your order which colors you'd like in the kit.
Thank you very much for the response. Will contact very soon.
Save alot of time and money....buy krylon. Spray desired camo pattern. Use gun. Rinse and repeat.
Damn I used Rust oleum. I can't believe it's not butter!
i usually paint my guns when they look like that haha
what magazine cover is that, the grip the is bolted to the lower receiver?
It is a FAB Defense MWG.
480p....we meet again...
What brand is the pistol grip? That is awesome!
+Dean Storonsky It is the Olympic Arms AR-15 A2 Pistol Grip that we slightly modified for this build.
THANK YOU!!! I looked for awhile last night to see if i could find it. No luck. Now I am their website and it is $12. It will look great on my next build. I like the horizontal lines. Again I appreciate the quick response!!!
+Dean Storonsky You're welcome! We're happy to help!
I can't find the kit on the website you provided above
The To Hell and Back Distressing Kit can be found on our website here: www.lauerweaponry.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=1136.
Matthew T buy whatever colors you want and use acetone.👍🇺🇸
Wouldn't the paint get into the rifle and ruin it?
The coating process shown in this video is specifically for creating a distressed, battleworn look using our To Hell and Back Distressing Kit. Spraying a rifle using this method would not result in the coating being applied to the internal moving parts of the firearm. Be aware that you should never coat inside of the barrel. Also, you should never intentionally spray the internal areas of a firearm using this type of spray technique and process. When applying our DuraCoat product (which is different from our To Hell and Back Distressing Kit products) using the DuraCoat surface preparation steps and application technique, the internal parts of a firearm can be cleaned and coated for best results. (However, the inside of the barrel and the bolt face [the surface of the bolt that meets the back of the cartridge] should never be coated.)
Or you could just take it out of the safe and use it.
Duane Bierman you understand the finish is made to last right? You would have to use it heavily every day for atleast a year to wear actual finish down that much likely longer than that honestly
Can anyone please tell me the name brand of that key mod rail?
Shane K It is from Midwest Industries.
What gun is this
+Blake Heinberg The firearm coated in this video is an LCW15. We utilized a number of various manufacturers' parts to complete the rifle. More information on our LCW15 rifles can be found on our website here: www.lauerweaponry.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=550.
Interesting product, it would be fun to do a project with. As far as the video itself, I appreciate that you do a good job showing what to do. However, it is very unnecessary to fill the gaps between dialog with loud, screaming stock rock music. The hallmark of really bad RUclips firearms channels is the use of loud, pounding "Hell, yeah!" type soundtracking. It sounds like something a 16 year old would come up with during study hall, all the while thinking "This is so cool, man!" No, it's not. But aside from the incredibly annoying music, it's a very good instructional video. And again, I'd like to find a cheap AR to do a project with, using your product. Thanks for the video.
Yep. The music really brings down what is otherwise a decent quality video. I understand they have to use non-copyright music, but I wish they would use something other than the faux heavy rock guitar. It is definitely the signature of low quality gun channels
You just wish you were still 16.
@@DDGVET4 Thank the heavens I'm not.....
That should be called the "Stolen Valor" scheme!
just use and train with it and feel good about it...
I can see someone doing this for maybe a movie or a vintage era display but not for a everyday duty, or defensive weapon. There is something that feels its "just not right", or dishonest, to "artificially" distress a relatively new weapon. I am all for DuraCoating and just using till worn out, through everyday use. Any experience firearms owner can spot the difference.
Yeah, on a firearm that is heavily used, the most wear is going to be on certain contact that is hard to duplicate except from actual use. I suppose you could look at photos of actual rifles that are battle worn and come close.
Yep, they just can't spell experienced. Guess I can't spot a fake.
this is a joke right?? how about just using your rifle!
+jimsutube123 Ahh Mannnn!! Went and shot 100 rounds at my local range, all the strangers thought this was the coolest thing ever! BRB Gotta post some pics on the popular forum sites! They're gonna think I'm a high speed tactical bad ass.
I get it I really do but why not just use your rifle and take pride in every real scar it gets?
Why not just drag down a dirt road for a ways. Simpler and much cheaper.
ctdoriet because that can damage the rifle and the wear to the finish won't look remotely close to what actual wear from use would
Distressing is also a form of camouflage. Straight paint sticks out like a sore thumb. So stop talking trash.
Why not just rattle can your rifle and actually use it.... Thats why you see guys in the military with guns that look like this....
+LoneStar Patriot The To Hell and Back Distressing Kit allows a person to create the exact distressed look that they'd like. Then, an optional DuraCoat Clear top coat would make the look permanent and protect the surface from corrosion.
+LoneStar Patriot such a genius m8
lmao
well truly you can't paint your weapon in the military that's SF only. Normally invantry can't and pogs well they carry camo pens. Plus its his/hers or even an it's rifle and he she and it will use or paint it what ever they want.
You Mad You have no clue what you are talking about, any unit can paint their weapons as long as the commander says its ok.
spray paint the shit out of it and use the shit out of it will look like that before you know it...
so like $200 to get a "distressed look" or you can buy some krylon and just use the damn rifle.
+BIZKIT Our To Hell and Back Distressing Kit retails for $59.95. Plus, an optional DuraCoat Clear top coat will make the look permanent and protect the surface from corrosion.
My thought exactly. And most people pay someone to do their duracoat. I know Rainier Arms wants like $400. I could buy a 2nd rifle for that much.
lol
shouldn't this be called "How to impersonate a military officer?"
right, I feel bad for these people.
What?
military officer? I think "soldier" would be more accurate.
The millennial's way to get a "battle-tested weapon." all the look. none of the work. haha
Lazerrus Laslonin HAHAHAHAHAHA OFFICER!!! SHIT either you're one dumbass private POG straight out of boot or you have never met nor seen or even spoken to a NCO. Haha get that officer shit out of here.
Music is obnoxiously too loud and unpleasant
