While I enjoy the guest visits on other people's RUclips channels, the solo Tom tours are the absolute best! Don't know how you do it, but keep it coming. Always great to learn more about the greatest City in the world! Thanks Tom!
Fanatic video as usual. 66 years old and never have been to NY. Had a trip planned this past June but the COVID issue killed it. These videos are second best to an actual visit. Keep them coming.
While I have no doubt that New York will recover, including the tourism industry, this might still take some time. And it might be a slightly different New York, everchanging as it is. Tough times for tourism guides in any case. You are the best guide I've ever seen, go write a book. I'd totally buy that. And I'm sure many more people would. Also, 0:34 should be the new channel logo.
Just to add... There was an African Orphanage Asylum located on 5th ave Bet. 42nd and 43rd Sts. It was burned to the ground during the Draft Riots of 1863. The local citizens refused to rebuild the orphanage at the same location as they were forced to move to 51st St. for a short time and finally rebuilt at 143rd street.
I hate it when the tour ends. I watched a few of your videos. Very good and laugh when you do the funny stuff. Was supposed to go to NY this past June, but Covid stopped that. Will try again in the Spring. Keep the videos coming.
Oh yeah... seriously, very interesting, informed and entertaining tour ( and I write as a former 4-year Manhattan resident who took an active interest in NYC's politics, history, architecture and personalities, and who worked (and played) in Manhattan for 10 years.
Love It! I hit the like hand (Button) right away even before watching the video awesome stuff Tom Thanks as always your videos are super entertaining cheers!
Great tour guide! Keep doing what you’re doing! 👍🏻 Because if you stop, I’ll do like Liam Neeson said: “I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you continue the guides that will be the end of it - I will not look for you, I will not pursue you... but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you... and I will...🤣
You are very good. I like your breezy style whilst imparting a motherload of facts. Lot's of relevant facts and a lot of interesting trivia plus a well developed sophisticated sense of humor and excellent editing graphics. I was rewatching and realized that you speed up the narration to cram more facts into less time, cool. You're the total package dude. Shake it for the world smart ass. And, why not. Seriously, IMO this is your best tour video yet. Keep up the good work.
@@freespirit6209 Yeah, I think so. It took me a while to realize this and I could be wrong. He is a fast thinker and talker but like you I had to playback some sequences to understand what he was saying. For that reason, I think he has sped-up the dialogue just a little bit. Thank you for letting me know that you found it somewhat difficult to understand although I do not think that was his intention. We are doing him a favor by letting him know this, I think.
@@josfitz Thanks for the reply. When I've time I'm going to rewatch the very enjoyable videos he's done with Action Kid - see whether I notice the effect there. Some people are just fast talkers, though, and luckily we can slow it down with RUclips!
@@freespirit6209 Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. You are so smart Elizabeth. How ironic, as I frequently slow down for motion shots. He may not have sped it up; maybe he is just a fast talker. JMHO.
What an amazing video, showing a beautiful Street in lovely NYC! I can’t wait to be able to visit NYC again, your video makes you feel like you are there, Thank you! ❤️🏙
Hey 142/150!! I enjoyed yet another of your of perspicacious, witty AND loquacious videos. You're the man, Tom!! Suggestion: Can you do a video of a) jazz venues b) the Cloisters c) things to do at the waterfront? Thanks a bunch. From 🇨🇦
Tom I enjoyed your tour. Michigan Ave in Chicago has the same stores as 5th ave. I bought a Polo shirt at Bloomingdale’s this year for 24 dollar’s. A lot of the high end stores on Michigan Ave are boarded up because of looting. They’ve arrested 74 people involved in the looting on the Mag mile that happened on August 10th. When I visit NY I’ve stayed at Westside Y on 63rd street.
I am from Brooklyn but now live in Santa Barbara CA. You do a great job on the history of NYC, I am pretty good but you outdo me. When I visit I try and look you up, thanks for the videos.
Hello Tom - I watch all your videos !! I visited NYC last year in the summer - loved the place !! So jealous of you guys living there or nearby!! I'd like to give you $50 - is PP best way? Therapeutic or vaccine will be available shortly and NYC, the NYC I know will bounce back faster and better than ever. That's how NYC works, baby.
