not a store owner or employee but i have noticed, probably due to inflation, a lot more casual whiskey people have discovered bottle in bond as a value option, getting more bang for your money. Evan Williams BiB and Jim Beam BiB being the biggest hitters and usually running light on store shelves.

In Central IL Woodford Double Oakes sits on the shelves at every grocery & liquor store. Can find WSR at SPR about once a quarter or so here. Stopped at a liquor store in Oklahoma City and they had a ton of WSR in the shelf. 1.75s, 1 liters and 750s all at SRP!

From the UK and I’d say our number 1 found everywhere tends to be Jim Beam (White Label). You can easily find Buffalo Trace which is my current favourite. Then I’d say Woodford Reserve is also readily found. Great video and channel 👍

One more note about Drizly: In my area (Chattanooga) they stores all have a $75 minimum, so....if I'm buying a $60-65 bottle of something I like, I'm probably getting another to fill out the quota, and that will drive lots of sales that otherwise would not happen if people just stepped into the store in search of one thing only.

When you consider the fact that it is by dollar amount it makes a lot of sense, you can buy probably five or six bottles of Evan Williams Black Label for the price of one Blanton's when we are talking about how much you would buy it on drizly. But I'm talking on average, in my area Blanton's is over 200 on drizly ...
Very interesting to hear that list, appreciate you Fred, Army strong

I work at binnys as a liqour consultant (Chicagoland area). I do not have the exact number since it will take me a while to pull. But out of the ones I see people buy a lot, stock a lot, and order a lot. Here is my list for the top 5. (No particular order).
    1. Jim bean (obvious)
    2. Maker’s (makers marks is the most popular, but the other ones are as well).
    3. Wild turkey (101, and Russell’s are super popular).
    4. Woodford reserve (who can go wrong with any of these).
    5. Old forester (86, 100, and 1920 are popular, all around a good product).

We got cases of WRDO and it sells pretty well for something that costs $60.
We sell a lot of Basil Hayden, more than we should. Also JBWL and EWBL 1.75 are our top sellers of bourbon. WR, Angel's Envy, MM, EC and 4RSmB all do very well when on sale. I don't even count the Buffalos or the Eagles or the Staggs because we sell them without market adjustments. The volume of those don't keep up with the other mentioned.

I can't go into a store in SE Wisconsin without seeing Woodford Reserve Double Oak on the shelf. I think the bottle kills it here, I am honestly not sure if it is a 750 or not, but it looks so small that I feel like I would be getting ripped off paying 63(average for this area) for it.

Some of these are obviously being driven by volume at moderate price (Knob Creek SB, WT 101) while others obviously by jacked up prices (Blantons, EH Taylor). It would be a lot more useful if they based it on volume.

Seen it at multiple stores each with several bottles on the shelf. Even some Eagle Rare wasn't gone as soon as the store opened on delivery day. Maybe people are finally stocked up enough and don't need to buy every bottle they see? Haha.
