I really appreciate the 'A Night at the Roxbury' soundtrack in the background.

11:04 "I'll have him do a light day of deadlifting cuz he needs to practice" that's the kind of nuanced SS content I want. I don't think Rippetoe ever suggested doing light DL for a novice. And sometimes the volume is just not enough to really practice the lift and some people tweak their back cuz they can ramp up the weight quickly but they are just not ready for it yet...

That’s the problem with deadlift programming in the NLP. One top set of 5 once every 5-7 days will not be enough practice to get good at the technical aspect of the lift. But on the other hand, I guess the first few weeks of deadlifting 3 times a week helps ingrain the movement pattern. So it depends. If you didn’t start the program deadlifting every training day, which was a mistake that I made, it could make the deadlift lag behind for a long time

Do you have to check with Rip before you do videos?

I've heard it said before Dad, he's in California and rip wants nothing to do with California... It's kind of like the strength co owns the starting strength brand in California

@@woodshcc5 he pays Rip monthly. All affiliate gyms pay a monthly fee. Rip must send them a book of beliefs they must adhere too
