    Once you include shipping and tax the Strength Co plates are actually cheaper than the Rogue Deep Dish.
    For 1 pair of 45s shipped to Cleveland OH (only 2 hours from Rogue in Columbus)
    Strength Co: $195 + $30 shipping + $0 tax= $225
    Rogue: $180 + $40 shipping + $16 tax = $236
    (ok I also plugged in a few other shipping locations and shipping and tax varies so it's basically a wash +/- like $10 depending on the location)

      Now calculate resale value

    • @kevin_rsg_18
      @kevin_rsg_18 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@jmagnum15 these plates will be passed down to my son and then his son and then his son.
      but really, rogue will probably have a better resale value due to the name recognition. Both are fine plates, and the cost difference is mostly negligible. If one is considering resale value for a brand new plates, perhaps basic used plates should also be considered. (assuming the reason resale is considered is because they're not sure if the home gym thing is right for them)

    • @HoerigStrength
      @HoerigStrength 8 месяцев назад +1

      You still have to pay tax per the IRS…just sayin. Difference is Rogue has the back-end software to incorporate it at time of sale. And if you’re only in Cleveland then you’re better off driving to pick up if you’re doing a full order of 500+ lbs.

    • @jmagnum15
      @jmagnum15 8 месяцев назад

      @@kevin_rsg_18Happy you plan to pass your plates down multiple generations, but keep in mind this is one of several considerations people make when buying equipment. Rogue will hold its value significantly better over time. Maybe your great great grandkid needs money one day. Those Rogue plates will almost certainly provide a better ROI.

    • @franc102
      @franc102 8 месяцев назад

      Ok, but compare them to plates from Barbell Standard.
      Barbell standard plates cost $145 for a pair of 45# plates with free shipping
      Strength Co plates cost $195 for a pair of 45# plates with a n additional $29 shipping (to where I live) for a total of $224
      Are these plates really worth the additional $80? If I bought 2 pairs of plates from Barbell Standard I would save myself $158 meaning I could still get an additional pair of 45# plates (3 pairs total) and still come out ahead. Perhaps someone needs to remind Strength Co that the Covid price gouging days are over.

    That’s the problem with modern day consumerism. The entire market is predicated on the “new” or the “innovation” and we all know who those companies typically are. Strength Co comes across as a bare bones organization that picked what they wanted to do. And they do it well. And for the most part, we don’t necessarily need “new” things all the time. All the bars and plates in my garage gym are from Strength Co and they are a great product/company. I love the classic minimalist approach.

    • @ObligatoryPun
      @ObligatoryPun 7 месяцев назад +1

      lol “rapidly declining US dollar” you clearly know nothing about economics or the market. USD is unbelievably strong right now compared to virtually every other currency, historically speaking. Inflation has been quelled as well. Price increases have nothing to do with USD power and everything to do with excess demand due to several years of suppressed buying habits.

    I prefer the narrower profile of the Strength Co plates not because I need to load huge amounts of weight, but because they take up less storage space. I switched from bumper plates to Strength Co because I couldn't fit all my bumper plates into a Rogue 30" single post bumper plate storage shelf. The Strength Co fit perfectly, with just enough space to get my hands between plates and grip tightly before moving them. Rogue deep dish, with their wide profile, would have the same problem as bumpers.
