I like how when they're moving the stones In the end Eddie doesn't even need to move the last one but Shaw does it so then Eddie does it
"I'm sure 10-15 years from now they're gonna be reppin our max's" - Eddie Hall back then
Well its been 8 years nobody has even matched your deadlift record
Thor.
lol
@@ConnoisseurOfExistence Eddie did it on competition.
@@Inmediostatvirtuss True. But it's not like Thor didn't lift 501, he did it.
@@ConnoisseurOfExistence Did I said he didn't? I have no doubt in my mind that he was capable doing such a feat, It's just imo it shouldn't be a record, maybe an unofficial world record at best.
It's fcking hilarious that Thor was sad he didn't get 15, his form was so sloppy compared to Eddie's almost picture perfect presses. Eddie did 15 cuz he needed 15 but the way he moved the weight I would have no uncertainty he could of smashed out 18 seriously.
EDDIE HALL WAS THE STRONGEST MEN EVER ON THIS DAY!
peak strongman, so entertaining so many rivalries
The current Martins vs Tom vs Oleksii vs Mateusz vs Evan is pretty damn entertaining
@@gublaman yeah definitely is entertaining, but i think thor vs eddie vs shaw is so much more entertaining and there is bad blood there
@@stefan6076 2017 wsm was one of the best I think. most of the events were very heavy vs speed and there were so many great legends in the final. brian, eddie, thor, big z, jf caron, martins, konstantine, lolz, mataeus, nick. really a great test of who was the strongest. 11 wsm titles between all competitors which might be a record
Zydrunas Savickas was injured in this World's strongest man though. sad.
Brian and Big Z. Such awesome ambassadors for the sport, such a legendary rivalry, and honestly a large part of why i became so interested in strongman.
I miss this era
Just watched this again after watching the face to face for the 🥊 can't wait for Saturday, come on Eddie UK
That version of Eddie. Holy crap. One of the strongest strongman ever to compete a WSM. Maybe the strongest ever. That man was literally willing to kill himself to win a title, and I am glad he did that year, because if he did not, and kept going the way he was, he probably would have died. He would have kept going to. So I am very thankful. He did win that year. He puts a lot of smiles on peoples faces these days with social media.
coming here after the podcast with brian shaw. very emotional seeing him at the end
50:48 Echo Hall
Watching this in 2022, you forget that this was the year Thor got Bell's Palsy. That on top of the frustration of so many podiums without a win and you can really see why it got to him so badly this time. Must have been a worry in the back of his mind.
Yeah but it doesn't excuse his refusal to apologize to Eddie after the situation was resolved. He coulda put it benind them by apologizing online but he didn't
@@oceanbanana4341 just look at the events, who decided them and what eddie's only strengths are.. thor has absolutely nothing to apologize for
@@allylilith5605 Eddie could have done more reps for the Vikings Press, Eddie was the better Viking. Let alone all of the warnings and false reps Eddie did that they did count for him.
@@TheAliisawesome 1more rep on squat and hafthor would have won. he also had a quad injury a few weeks leading in. the events were extremely favorable for eddie and he still just barely won. the viking press is such a strawman argument by eddie, it completely ignores the actual problem
@@allylilith5605 how many points is 1 squat?
Watch you all the time on different things Eddie. For example, saw you with Danny on "Rate my Takeaway". Your food shows, and obviously strongest man. But....What a gent. Very humble. Class. Love it. Keep it going. All the best. Phil
Eddie ‘I tore my’ Hall
🐐
Eddie gave his all every time, damn near killed himself, I tremendously respect this man he’s a real champion he deserved to win in 2017.
A decisive victory for Eddie Hall IMO, but wow, what a competition. Eddie, Hathor, and Brian were all at their best and battling it out. Mateusz had served notice and was dominating speed based events. This was a World's Strongest Man that you had to watch to the end because you truly didn't know who was going to win.
One of my favorite WSM events ever.
The perfect example of how unsportsmanlike Thor is. The fact he brought in his daughter to swear upon, made me dislike him even more.
42:05
42:25
That's what sportsmanship conduct is very toxic stop meat riding someone that doesn't give a fyck about you
How could Thor claim that Eddie cheated? Eddie could've squatted more than 15 reps and viking pressed a 16th rep if he needed too!
Big fan of both Eddie and Thor, I want to see 2018 next!
@J Zim I’m saying I want to see Thor’s winning run in 2018 lol
My favorite era when we had Brian, Big Z, Thor, and Eddie competing. I hope we get another era like it
Obviously I always root for my US countrymen and I'd love Shaw to get a 5th title just to be in that club but I would be very happy if Constantine won it one year.
Shaw is a fucking savage it will happen
@@immbrick6159 I think it's still possible he just needs to get better than Tom Martins and Novikov
@@immbrick6159 shaw is unlikely to win anything anymore, hes one of the greatest but i personally think hes peaked already. their are fresh faces in WSM many getting much much better every year.
@@oceanbanana4341 and Tom Stoltman, Tom has improved probably the most drastically in the last 3 years hense his 2nd and 2 firsts.
That was Incredible!... Thanks for Sharing
The champ, The BEAST
Eddie did a big yes with plenty of time remaining,he knew he had won. If he needed another it was only inevitable.
Very impressive athletes, all showing how dedicated they are to their cause.
These WSM finals are cool competitions. Much more interesting then the overhyped, overrated Stupor Bowls.
I wish yall would post 2021. It only aired once and my programed recording didn't pick it up. Now there are litterally no airings in the future according to my tv.
I’ve been waiting for 2021 for awhile. I really hate whoever is in charge with the broadcasting of wsm. That’s why I’m glad new events are coming around to stream for free or on RUclips
49:00 No way Eddie letting Shaw one up him putting that last stone up.
While Nick Best didn't perform the best, he is still the best.
Awesome, well done all finalists, well done Eddie
Best WSM final ever
That was an impressive line-up
This female Announcer has a very lovely smooth Voice!
She almost made me switch off.
Brian ShaAaAaww!!
Did they use suits for the deadlift because I thought that Brian is against suits and if he pulled 460kg almost raw thats pretty good, same goes for anyone else who did the same.
They can pull with suits. Brian just doesn't get anything out of a suit and always pulls raw.
What happened to Shaw with the plane pull? Like, he doesn't usually screw that up...
I think he was having a lot of trouble with his hamstring
Eddie is going to make Thor take 2nd place again, this time though there will only be 2 ppl taking part
Always funny when Eddie fans say that Eddie will beat Thor "again". Eddie only beat Thor once in his entire career lmao
@@TheJoker-yz8dv to be fair it’s cuz he won. Eddie always said he wanted to win it all once and then he wants to leave the space because if the health concerns
too bad it was an impartial organization setting up the boxing fight
@@allylilith5605 bruh lol
This comment didn't age very well
I used to be a more so Thor fan but now I’m more Beast mode with Beast! Brian Shaw is my favorite tho and a Great Man too! 💪🏼🇺🇸
Having watched WSM Finals from 1977 to this........Viking press....Eddie had more in the tank so it seems a fair victory.
I can't believe this show came to Botswana twice and I missed it both times..!
You know it's serious when a giant calls another person super human
Love 💖 from india jharkhand jamshedpur jugsalai chaprahiya
easily the best lineup ever
Man 2017 competitors are stacked probably the best by far
Absolutely love world's strongest man and was really happy eddie got his dream and became world's strongest man.
That's pretty cool they had Jodi announcing the competitors!
On this day Eddie was the strongest person that has ever lived. He controlled the competition and could of done more on the squat, press and dead lift if he needed to. Can't wait for the Eddie vs Thor boxing match coming up in the next few months - Eddie is going to beat the living daylights out of Thor.
Not true at all
This comment aged like fine milk
Eddie would win an mma fight.
And Thor smacked him
@@johnpontes812 both smacked each other only reason it wasn't a draw was one eddie knockdown counted as thor slipping with fist in side of his head.
Is it just me that loves the random shoes they wear
The Beast is a Legend... Gooooo, Eddie!
Gave eddy some stick for his under par performance against thor in the boxing match, but this win to become worlds strongest man back in 2017 is still right up there with every winner before and after this dominant display by the "BEAST". Still say eddie is THE best dead lifter i have ever seen. Will even go as far to say that if he kept up with his strength training for strongman, that he would have been a 2X winner and would have regained his deadlift world record, of that i have no doubt.
Maybe but I wish he'd focused a bit more on speed and he'd have 100% won another title
2017 eddie was the strongest static lifter to ever walk the planet
That arguable
Plenty power lifters would get higher totals
@@adamcharlton5339 Eddie had a 2,650 pound total, certainly not plenty of powerlifters who are stronger than that. And sorry to tell you but strongmen are stronger people than powerlifters, regardless of total.
@@YoYoYoYoYoYoPeace just isn’t true daniel bell has a better total than Eddie would ever get
@@adamcharlton5339 Im basing Eddies total from his max lift at different times. For example his max squat was done well before his 500kg deadlift. But the numbers are real, strongmen are just stronger than powerlifters. It's not even close or a debate really.
and Thor cries like a baby when she didn't have the power that the winner had.
Eddie got an easy 15 rep. He would have still had 16-17, but he knew 15 would be enough, so he left it at that.
Thor wouldn't have gotten more
They never should have had that woman with the screeching voice call out the contestants.

Yes. I have no idea why.

THE BEAST 💪
This finals was stacked, not sure we have seen anything like it since
Eddie has so much static power. A real champion
They've never had both a max deadlift and squat for reps in a WSM final for as long as I can remember. The events suited Eddie and it was organized by his countrymen. Suspicious af.
@@lukeemmanuelhammond6024 you jelly brah?
Best WSM contest ever.
That was awesome.
Big Z is still the best of all time💪
He was injured in wsm 2017. would have been nice indeed to see him compete uninjured.
Eddie Hall !
A great Champion !
WSM 2017
WE NEED MORE WSM FINALS LIKE THIS ONE that really test strenght with a mix of moving and speed events. Fuck all ya crying that this was too static. Its STRONGman not fucking FASTESTMOVINGman with weights... Strongman SHOULD be like this competition, atleast 3 static and 3 moving events, again ATLEAST
I second that
finally a good take. thank god, i thought i was going crazy
For facks sake man I agree I hate all these peeps wanting more dynamic events than static events.
That's crazy!🤯 in every sport like football or rugby you can rewatch the action . But in strongman it's a shame just to call verification wtf
Impressive... these guys are so strong.
Eddie Hall. One of the best deadlifters and shoulder pressers in the history
2017 Eddie is one of the strongest ever who has walked on earth
Thors mouning about the double dipping wouldn't have made any difference. Eddie had another 3-4 reps in him easy. Thor was at his end. If he got that rep eddie would have just done more
