- I had the honor of partnering up with Sloclap to direct a live-action short film adaptation for their upcoming third-person martial arts action game for Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and PC (via the Epic Games Store).

There's a reason why Hollywood calls on him folks. Some of the dopest fights scenes you see lately are from this guy.
When the subtitles began to fade away as the main character was no longer listening to the henchmen because he was so focused on moving forward blew my mind. That's high level storytelling. Awesome stuff 👏👏👏👏👏

This was just unbelievable. From costume, to music, to incredible editing and story, not to even touch on the rich, beautiful, and vivid story telling in the choreography. This is such an incredible concept, amazing execution, and beautiful piece. Thank you for what you do and sharing it with us

I watched this on Sony's channel and my immediate thought was "oh I hope they gave the directing gig on this to someone cool who would appreciate it". I was happy to see they'd credited this channel and seem to have done exactly that. Looks like I have a lot of cool stuff to check out here!

We need movies like this ! The quality and feeling of this short movie is a great mix between old kung fu cinema enhanced with modern hit effects which I love because there is weight into each actions ! Congratulation to all the staff !
What do you mean modern hit effects?
The visual hit effects combined with the sound effects, which sounded like sledgehammer strikes.
@@Alex_Logan22 explain to me what the visual hit effect looked like? Was it some sort of shockwave? I’m just curious. Cause it seems worthy of incorporating it for my next fight scene, if it’s not just something used for Sifu

The subtle camera shakes upon each strike making contact. Not sure how he does it but it is a great execution.
@@createanything5189 I'm still a newbie myself, but if you download the video and open it up in premiere you can scrub across each frame and see for yourself how he's modified the footage, what he's added like camera shake, motion blur and over how many frames per attack he's done it. I've just started doing this for UA LA because this is EXACTLY what I want to do. Well not exactly, I have my own style I'm aiming for.
This was so sick! The choreography, the effects, everything on point! It was nice touch having the MC get visibly faster and better to go along with the narrative.
Those fight scenes were spectacular, but I also liked the little touch of having the subtitles fade away with the audio at 1:32
Oh my god, I totally get it. He can die and revive but at the cost of his age which makes it more important to complete his objective. I'll watch this in a heartbeat

Sheeeeeesh, this was amazing from start to finish. The colors, the flow of the choreo, the editing... All of it. I especially love how heavy each impact feels and the beats of each hit - it really makes everything so much more intense and real, and I wish more people would follow your lead!

That's amazing 👏 First of all, technically, the choreo was phenomenal. Your camera angles were perfect and I could "feel" the impact of each hit. Fast, clean, and could see every strike.
Secondly, outstanding concept with the "second chance at the cost of aging". Powerful, but with a huge dowside. I've personally never seen this idea before. Love it. Please make more!

Ended up buying the game after seeing this trailer, and gotta say the fight choreo in the vid mimics the game mechanics pretty well! Clear presentation of crowd control, parrying, spacing, etc.
Damn. What can I say, this was some of my favorite choreography since Enter the Eagle. Amazing work.

I loved every second of this! The only thing that stuck with me though is where the hell did the beard come from LMAO
Jokes aside though, that sequence where he's analyzing ways to correct future mistakes was a masterpiece. There were a lot of high tension moments and they were clear and that bit of "shake" when large impacts were made really immersed me. Well done!
SIFU is based on a videogame. His amulet resurrects him, but ages him couple of years everytime he dies.

This is so damn good, everything from the choice of music music, to the cinematography, choreography, lighting, story telling, the plot twist / reveal, and pacing. If there's a full-length movie of such kind, I'd be a die-hard fan
The warehouse scene is reminiscent of the dope warehouse scene in the first Raid film. This is pretty awesome! This should be a feature film. These are real martial artists.
