Copacabana & Isla Del Sol 🇧🇴 Backpacking Bolivia Travel Vlog

- My final stop in Bolivia is Copacabana! Situated still at a very high altitude (🙄lol) on Lake Titicaca. I stayed at Hostal Florencia and met Harry and Tori and together we took a boat to Isla Del Sol and hiked over 10km across the island, visiting the ruins along the way. It was a fantastic day out but challenging with the altitude!

FAQ's
How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RUclips videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

So much fun seeing this video! I did the same trip in early 2021 when I didn’t see a single foreign tourist in Copacabana nor Isla del Sol. It was MAGIC. I actually spent 6 weeks in Copacabana and 3 days hanging with locals on Isla del Sol. So special to travel alone. Happy you got to catch a glimpse. I loved Bolivia so much that I actually stayed and still haven’t left 😋
Oh wow! I’m not sure how I’d spend 6 weeks in Copacabana 😅😅 that’s great you loved it so much though!
@@BackpackingBananas lots more than meets the eye and quick stop through. Disfruta Peru!
Great video! Bolivia is such a great country and perfect for a vacation destination!
in what time of the year have you been there?
You’re making me want to visit Bolivia!
The sunset so beautiful
I love your videos you're always happy and so informative on everything. I only found this channel in August and I've watched all your videos. It's like a travel show on television but better. Your editing is amazing you don't get enough credit for your editing! 🇬🇧
Love this vid...thanks for sharing your joy!!
Stunning views
Wow..that's an eye opening to visit lake titicaca..what a beautiful place..!
Me gusta mucho Bolivia. Es bonitisima! ❤️😘
very nice crystal clear video
Thank you so much for all of this information! we visited Bolivia in September and we followed your advice. The Isla del Sol is amazing!
No its higher pos 1500 feet more apx
Great video!
Definitely planning to get to Salar de Uyuni in September when we get down that way. Copacabana looks cool. Good luck catching your breathe. Cheers to your travels and channel. We are just getting started.
good video we hope to go some day it looks amazing there keep up the good work
Breathless Banana ! gorgeous skies...and those ruins definitely made me envious. smart move not to allow yourself to get completely distracted from your planned direction. perfect attitude : the salt flats will still be there for part of another trip. thanks for sharing the experience and highlighting all those costs (which can add up !).
Great vlog wonderful Christie!!! 💖 Have fun in Peru!!!
Hi Christianne, Just wanted to say I love your videos. I'm going backpacking for four months across South America next January and I have been binge watching all your recent videos and your Colombia series, Enjoy Peru!
Nice video 💚💚💚
wherever you go you take time for work and nicely utilize the time in cafes.
Gotta get things done 💪🏼
Beautiful can’t wait for Peru 🥰
Loved the vlog! I visited Copacabana in 2009 and the city seems didn't change a bit 🤣
Also, you make me remember the suffering of altitude lol
the video ended and i was just like: so did the bus to peru come on time?😅🤓
Find out in the next video 😂😂 (spoiler: it did not)
@@BackpackingBananas biggest cliffhanger of all time😫😂
I enjoyed your hike on the island. What would have happened if you didn't make it back for the boat pickup. Would you have to stay the night on the island? Thanks for the share Cristianne
Very interesting part of Bolivia, have enjoyed the Bolivia vlogs. When you get to Ecuador, please check out Vilcabamba. Love this little town and would love to retire there
What a fantastic little trek. So that was lake titcaca! It's fun to spell, but even more fun to say! Lol I had to look up the elevation. Highest large lake in the world at 12,500 feet. No wonder you're out of breath!
Backpacking, only person to able to interact with a couple and not be the third wheel. Personality is everything.
Soo many good memories 🥺😍 Can't decide if I prefer to watch videos about a place I am planning to go or to watch videos about a place I have already been to.
Hello Christiane 👋
I really enjoy your videos !
I was wondering if you always ask people before filming them ?
Voilà ! You n1 french fan 😁
Are you planning on making videos about your trip to Pakistan ?
🌺🌼🌺
while you be in south america in january?
I probably will have moved on by then!
Wait this has scared me now, I’m going to South America in a few weeks and will be travelling mostly by bus when I’m there…. Is there no toilet on that bus?! For 4hrs??
Would you have tried a similar journey with a lesser level of Spanish? Love the vids ✌🏽
Yes lots of people travel South America with zero Spanish levels 😅 it’s totally possible but not exactly ideal
👍
Did you get your money from the merch company in the end?
Have you ever visited morocco before
Did you feel like you were in mama Mia in that little boat?
Does the altitude feel like wearing a mask or is it worse? I'm going to Peru and I'm so nervous about it
It doesn’t feel like wearing a mask at all! It feels like you are very unfit
Do you like peru and bolivia more than central american countries?
They are so different. If you like hiking mountains, you’d prefer it here, but if you like beaches more, you’d prefer Central America.
It was pretty good for you to choose not going to Uyuni on this trip, because the salt flats are near Chile and my country is veeery big. you should do both on a 2 month trip finishing on patagonia or torres del paine in the future! 🤩
Não po, koe.
Beautiful woman. I love you..
